Problems with 2006 Scion xB SEATS

On average, the 2006 Scion xB starts to “feel” problems with the SEATS and its various aspects after 65 000 miles.

Recently reported SEATS problems on 2006 Scion xB

The driver seat suddenly went back skipping multiple seat settings. luckily, i am fairly strong (as well as the steering column) i was able to hold on to the steering wheel until i was able to come to a complete stop. before the seat failed, i did not change any seat position (i probably adjusted it a week before it happened). it happened again in february, that time it happened to me immediately after putting the automatic transmission in park the seat dropped back one position back. after all this all happened i took my car to my local dealer (toyota of tampa bay) where they looked at the seat and said they could not find anything wrong. i am slightly suspicious that they did fix something but did not want to admit that there is a problem. this could have caused a serious accident if this happened to someone else or if i was driving faster (e.g. on the interstate) where smaller adjustments to the steering can cause severe injuries, if not fatalities.

Seat release button stays opened and does not lock back up. safety issue, because the seat will move if not locked in place.

I own a 2006 scion xb release series 3.0 envy green and the head rest monitors that came from factory has failed. the first time the monitors failed to work was back on july 20 and ever since the monitors will not work or it will turn on for a few seconds and shuts off and will not turn on again. i have tried to turn it on every time i have the kids in the back but unfortunately cannot make it work. i am also a member of a numerous scion website forums and spoke to some of the rs3.0 owners and found out that they also had the same problems, and i was surprise to find out that one of the members had the same issue on the same exact date i had mine and we were at the same scion event. i was told by that member that he had taken his to a scion dealership and he was informed by that service dept that scion/toyota knew there was a problem with the unit module for the monitors and the dealership replaced the part for free of charge. my problem is that of all 3 scion dealerships i have contacted none would admit of such issue including the dealership where i purchased mine. please help resolve this issue and for other rs3.0 owners out there that are not aware of the problem soon to happen. *tr
