My car has several defects. i have a 2006 toyota scion. i purchase this car from carmax but they tell me that i have to have it repaired at a toyota car dealership place. this place has been given me a run around about fixing my car ever since january. i brought my car in for one thing to be repaired. and the told me that the electrical air bag and the electrical system needed to be replace in my car and i have not been able to get my car repaired at this place at all. i have been trying for the last few months to have them to repaired what they said i needed repaired on my car. i have not heard no responds from this company in regards to my car. i have already had some problems with this car and the air bag did not work. *tr

Accelerated (took off) while driving at highway speed (5 incidences)...originally i thought it was a problem with my aftermarket cruise control. i called dealership and reported that they should not recommend aftermarket cruise at the time...they claimed no other problems. after 2nd incidence cruise control was replaced by installer and he called the company...none was familiar with the problem on my cruise module (he showed me how to disconnect cruise under the hood since current still runs through mechanism since cruise was in off position during 2nd incident)...the problem then happened again (3 times in same day on way to airport)with new cruise mechanism. no problems in last 2 years, but it's a daily gamble...now i have to wonder if the cruise was ever even part of the equation in the problem with all the accelerator and other problems i've read online. i checked with the dealership again this year and they deny any problem with scion accelerators or brake not depressing (it always felt like my brake and gas were fighting like if you 2 footed in a manual equally, but i own a automatic...it's very scary). *tr

Due to the upright position of the windshield a small rock can cause stars which lead to multiple leader cracks. due to grill design and position of a/c condenser a small rock can puncture causing a leak and require replacement costs of up to $1100 on a 4 month old car. toyota needs to realize that their design has major flaws with positioning. unfortunately, rocks are everywhere and if you drive any at all on the freeway you are surely going to encounter some. *jb
