Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2006 Scion xB

The back hatch door handle looks like it is melted and very sticky. needs to be replaced. also when i shift into 3rd gear sometimes i feel a light grinding. it seems to only happen when my car is cold and does not happen after my car is warmed up. i hope it nothing wrong with the transmission. i have taken it to a mechanic they said nothing is wrong, very strange. *tr

Two occurrences within 3 days, unintended full acceleration - accelerator stuck at full throttle. *tr

Manual transmission clutch pivot bolt failed while vehicle was at speed. clutch pedal stopped working, transmission stuck in gear and could not be shifted into neutral. required evasive actions to avoid collision. mechanic disassembled transmission and located sheared off pivot bolt lying loose inside transmission casing. mechanic stated that in their experience, incident was very unusual and not a common occurrence: in their opinion, cause was likely a manufacturing fault in bolt. mechanic confirmed that rest of transmission and clutch showed no signs of premature wear or driver abuse. *tr

On 4 separate incidents, my car accelerated on it's own while sitting still. the last incident was on march 23rd while i was sitting still in a mcdonald's drive thru. my foot was on the brake and the car suddenly acted as if i had stepped fully down on the gas pedal. i had to really push my foot down on the brake to keep it from lunging forward. i immediately pushed it into park and the car stopped accelerating. this is very dangerous and i am extremely worried it will happen again! *tr

Sometimes when i need quick response power from the engine it doesn't not have power to accelerate. i have to step on the accelerator a few less than full and the vehicle run like a turtle and after 4000 rpm the power start to come. this is a problem at intersections, traffic lights when i really are a low speed car at traffic when start to run. also the automatic transmission change up to overdrive at 35 mph too quick getting worst the acceleration when you are normal driving. is not "check engine" indication but one automotive mechanic after he drive says than the engine have a bog problem too lean fuel mixture. when he turn off the a/c the problem is less he says is because the idle control valve don't by pass air at throttle and it's less air getting at the engine without tps registration. *jb
