It was just recently brought to my attention that there was a technical service bulletins sent out for the 3.0 ecodiesel to change the type/specification of oil and to go against what the owners manual states because the manual is wrong. it calls for an oil that is to light breaks down molecular weight too quickly and trucks and jeeps alike equiped with the ecodiesel have been having catastrophic engine failure due to premature engine wear on internal components. it is recommended to put 5w40 in instead. this is first and foremost true i did research and confirmed that the change was made but never made public to the owners like the current class action lawsuits was. many owners don't know this change exsisted and many owners don't know that the dealerships are still making this error and continuing to fill the trucks with 5w30 for owners that come in for service. if it's to save money by not throwing away already purchased merchandise or ignorance i don't know. but this is huge because now even if owners change now they still have potential and highly probable permanent internal damage done to their engine taking a drastic amount out of ...
I have a ram 2016 on more than one occasion my truck accelerated on it's own while i was driving. once on the interstate going around 70 mph (had 3 passengers with me) and twice today 10/22/19 in morning traffic and almost caused me to have an accident. it took hitting the brakes several times to stop. i took it to the dealership
Vehicle taken in on 8-12-19 to dealership to check out driveability concerns after "approved emisson modification" they had it to apply update from 5-17-19 to 6-12-19, concerns on 8-12-19 were acceleration, also to check egr system as i was losing coolant they had my vehicle from 8-12-19/9-13-19 when they called me telling me i needed to return the rental car and pick my vehicle as they couldn't do anything for the acceleration i would have to wait for an update to be released. they didn't check the egr system only topped it off with coolant and told me to watch it. all was fine until 9-16-19 when i was on my way to work, about 7 miles from work the check engine light came on i continued on about a mile from my work location the service throttle control light illuminated i lost the ability to accelerate and about 1/4-1/2 mile away from the work location the low oil pressure light illuminated and vehicle died. i finished coasting into the driveway and parked went inside to get work related paperwork i needed and came back outside and see smoke coming from under the hood. i open the hood ...
Display system, radio, nav, rear view camera, ect. rear view camera, sometimes goes on with a solid green screen. the radio sometimes looses it presets. the nav sometimes will not take an address. chrysler states there is at least 1 downloadable repair but wants to charge for it, approx. $125 and if the download does not work work and it makes things worse, they still want their money for trying and will not make any repairs.
Sudden stop at 75 mph in freeway. safety hazard! my 2016 dodge ram suddenly stops randomly when going at 75 mph. it has caused several people to almost slam into my truck. one man was so angry i pulled over and told him i was so sorry. the guy said there were no brake lights so it was dangerous!!! i have taken it to the dealer multiple times but they tell me since it doesn't give them a code, they cannot pinpoint the problem. the manager at the santa cruz, ca dealership took it for a test drive with a scanner attached; it happened to them but no code appears! after they changed a part, they gave it back but it is still doing it. they are reluctant to do anything else because ram doesn't want to cover the cost. this is my only transportation for our family's livelihood and ram doesn't seem to want to be bothered with it, but it's a safety matter. this is a dodge matter that must be resolved by them. i do not want to drive a faulty unsafe vehicle but i ...
Since an emissions recall my truck has had a dangerous amount of dead pedal lag when. first starting to drive. the first 5-10 minutes of every drive create a dangerous situation where i am consistently worried about causing an accident because my truck does not operate like a normal vehicle, or as it did before the recall happened.
After fca completed the emissions recall on my 2016 ram the truck now does not want to accelerate into traffic. this is caused several issues when trying to merge into traffic or onto the interstate. also while pulling a trailer i was not able to accelerate properly into traffic or to the highway. due to this while pulling out in traffic i have barely avoided several wrecks.
Tl* the contact owned a 2016 ram 1500. the contact stated that while driving at 40 mph with the seat belt secured, the contact became distracted by his phone and crashed with another vehicle at a red light. the contact crashed into the front driver side of an unknown van as a result the van spun and crashed back into the rear driver side panel of the contacts vehicle. the air bags did not deploy. the contact sustained neck injuries however medical attention was not provided. a police report was filed. there was no fire due to the crash. the vehicle was towed to an independent lot. the local dealer was not contacted and the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted. the insurance company deemed the vehicle a total loss. the failure mileage was 51,000. *dt *dt*jb
Aem emissions recall v08/ram dealer computer reprograming completed 20 june 2019. pcm flashing from p/n: 68280881ah to target p/n: 68280881a0 and tcm flashing from p/n: 68282282ad to target p/n: 68282282ai. post 2016 ram ecodiesel recall. my post aem emissions recall/ram dealer computer reprograming has created a significantly impaired vehicle with unpredictable acceleration lag and impaired engine response. i am the original owner, the vehicle has just under 44k miles on it. the vehicle is still under the factory warranty and has not been modified in any way from manufacturer specs. the vehicle became impaired after the epa/doj forced recall for emissions control tampering. this update has put me and my family is several seriously dangerous situations. when merging onto highway traffic the truck has significant/sever power or responsiveness. pulling out into/on cross street intersections or from businesses entry/driveways into traffic the truck has little to no power or gas pedal responsiveness for approximately 2-4 seconds upon pressing the gas pedal, then will suddenly accelerate unexpectedly and very rapidly, to the point of spinning the tires. this sudden loss of power or acceleration lag situation happens sporadically at indiscriminate times, with no predictable pattern to it. it ...
Since getting the ram eco diesel mandatory recall / re flash. i have experienced a "dead pedal." it's not as bad in warmer weather but now we are starting to experience colder mornings and winter is right around the corner. the drive-ability of the vehicle is unsafe and unsettling. i am worried about my family now.
After receiving the v08 ecodiesel emissions update, the vehicle performance has suffered significantly! the acceleration delay/lag is truly a life-safety issue and will cause a life-threatening accident. in addition to the significant delays in acceleration (especially when "cold" and when merging onto traffic), the transmission shifts have been altered to be unresponsive and significantly hinder performance. the vehicle is dangerously unsafe with the current recall update!!
Truck was running fine with no issues until the emissions v08 recall. truck now has a significant lag when accelerating from a stopped position. it typically happens when turning (pulling out from a stopped position). it has almost caused us to get in to two different accidents due to lack of acceleration. my whole family was in the car at the time. i refuse to let my children ride as passengers now because it is a huge safety risk. my truck was fine before the recall software update (v08) and now it's a huge safety hazard.
Around 2-3 thousand rpm my 2016 dodge ram 1500 tradesman with 23,000 miles get this horrible vibration that seems to originate from the transmission area of the vehicle. this vibration feels like it could be the driveshaft or transmission. doesn't matter how fast i'm going, as soon as i let off the gas and the truck begins to downshift i start feeling the vibration once i press the gas to accelerate again it's feels like the whole bottom of the truck is vibrating brought the gas pedal as if i'm riding on a rumble strip. i literally have to almost floor it for the vibration to go away.
When the vehicle is started and put in drive, the screen displays a note saying vehicle not in park! and will not do anything unless i put it back in park, turn off the vehicle , wait a couple of seconds and retry
When i am approaching a red light or stop sign, i apply pressure to the brakes. as the vehicle is coming to a stop, it sometimes lunges forward unexpectedly as if i have been rear-ended by another vehicle. the vehicle is still under warranty. i have taken it to two separate dealerships for this hazardous condition. both times they acknowledged the problem exists. both times they updated the computer and claimed it was fixed. both times they were wrong. the vehicle still lunges forward occasionally when coming to a stop. i spoke to the company's customer care representative. they told me to take it to the dealership and have them check it a third time. i have no faith in the dealership after twice taking it in with no resolution. it also costs me time and money to take it to the dealership just to have them tell me the problem is fixed when it is not. my warranty will expire soon, and i believe they are just trying to run out the clock. in addition to the danger that this places my family in, it will also cause expensive ...
