The air ride suspension doesn't work in cold weather and it drops to the bump stops and ride is terrible. and keeps blowing fuses many many times when temperature is below 30 degrees
While driving on my he highway my truck lowers to the bumper stops and has no suspension making it difficult to steer. they're saying it is the whole air suspension which they just throw a new part at and release it to me to drive without really fixing it.. my truck was purchased in september 2019 with a mopar max care extended warranty. when the event happened in november the first time, i had it taken into razzari dodge where extended warranty was purchased. it has now been in there for the 6th time. i took it back january 28th and is still there. each time they've given it back saying it was repaired, i have almost wreaked on the freeway each time.. they have been working with the dodge star engineers but won't give me the information on my vehicle safety.
Air suspension go off all that time when i'm goin fas like 70 then don't wnnt trun on anything and i have my family and kids i don't like that feeling
Anytime the weather is cold i get a "service air suspension immediately" message. i've taken it to the dealer several times for it and they never "find" a problem. two days ago i got a message stating that the air suspension could not be used because my payload was too heavy. the problem is, there was nothing in my truck except me so there wasn't a heavy payload. this morning my trucks front end was resting on the emergency bump stops and the air suspension was not functioning at all. i am out of warranty and neither my dealership nor fca will cover the repairs even though is a known issue since you can find many reports of issues like thi.
I purchased this 2013 ram on or about june 15, 2018. on five different occasions the air ride suspension requires immediate service alarm was displayed on the dashboard. i was driving on the highway three times (once with a service technician in the truck), once while on a residential street and once while parked. i took the truck back to the dealership, zeigler of plainwell each time for repairs. i finally told them to keep the truck so they let me spend nine hours, looking at 12 trucks, before settling on a 2015 ram 1500. i say settled because the final truck was the only one that also has the air ride suspension. i completed a previous complaint on the air ride failing on the 2015 on february 8, 2019, as well. i just heard from the dealership that the same parts failed on the 2015 and this 2013, the left front air spring and the pump & manifold assembly. if these parts keep failing over multiple years there should be a recall. the ride goes from smooth to driving on logs instead of tires, regardless of speed, so this has the potential of causing a crash.
While driving on an interstate, the air suspension failed. the front of the vehicle dropped to the stop bumpers. then there was a message that read: immediately air suspension repair/ service required. the front began to raise up and then another message. air suspension cooling down please wait. finally the front and rear of the vehicle dropped to the bump stop (safe mode). the air compressor cracked, releasing all the nitrogen. dealership said they have had a lot of problems with dodge ram air suspension.
While working under the truck the air suspension failed causing the truck to drop. i have also been driving the truck and for no apparent reason the front or rear drivers air bag deflates almost causing me to lose control. i spoke with the dealer who stated with the cold weather there are multiple issues with the 2013 and 2014 ram air suspension failing. he also stated that there was a newer compressor installed in newer trucks along with better components that solved the issue. i have approximately 72000 miles on the truck with a repeated air suspension failure in the 45days i have owned the vehicle.
Dash light says service air suspension immediately . vehicle is stationary and just being started . compressor was replaced last year and fuse was replaced on 10-31-18 . on 11-05-18 service air suspension is back on . the vehicle drops in the front making it unsafe to drive.
Dodge ram 1500 strut - front are leaking after just 3 years-this was found during my penna state inspection.
The passenger side front wheel bearing was iniquitously greased at time of manufacture, causing failure without warning, and the front wheel came off, damaging the upper and lower control arms, break caliper, rotor, hub and wheel assembly, causing the truck to go out of control with no breaks. i have observed similar complaints on makeitsafer.com ,this is a lie safety issue and could have caused a fatal accident had this happened on the highway. fortuitously it happened on a city street at 35 mph, with no warning
Looks like my 2013 ram 1500 express with 80,000 on it has bad left front bearings. it has a lot of movement when moving the tire top to bottom. and makes a noise when driving like something's rattling. there should be a recall on this since it's too soon for something like to happen. i'm very disappointed. i have owned nothing but dodge. and this ram which is made now by fiat. never had any problems before until now.
Air suspension pump failed at tempatures below 30 f. system dumps suspension pressure while driving , truck becomes very difficult to control. issue began at 67000 miles, fha siad this is not covered under drivetrain warranty, dealer wants $3800.00 to correct problem
While slowly backing down the driveway of my home and turning into the street, i heard a loud bang which seemed to come from the front of the vehicle. i proceeded to put the vehicle into drive and slowly drove the truck back into driveway when at that time the right front tire broke away from the vehicle. the right lower control arm had broke in half where it was attached to the ball joint. after inspecting the broken part i noticed an abnormality and concluded there was a manufacturing (casting) defect at the factory which compromised the integrity of the part.this was also concluded by the ram dealer where i had the vehicle inspected and repaired. part was returned to chrysler for evaluation.
Driving on freeway at about 65 mph vehicle began pulling to the left was able to correct but then noticed the front end appeared to be low. when i stopped i noticed the front end wheel wells were all most on top of the tires. after i restarted the vehicle there was no warning light but i cycled though the messages and saw a message that said service air suspension immediately. attempted to raise the vehicle using air suspension buttons to raise the front end but it did not function. the failure of suspension components at highway speed could result in loss of control. i have scheduled service with the dealer but they could not get an appointment for 5 days. after reviewing several ram vehicle forums i see that there are multiple problems associated with the ram 4 corner air suspension. fiat (chrysler) should fix these issues as suspension failure could result in accidents or worse as these systems age and fail. my vehicle only has 28,000 miles and if it is failing already i can only imagine what the future holds. if fiat can not do a viable fix they should recall and replace the systems with coil springs.
While traveling on a paved road at about 25-30 mph, right front tire blew out. the tire was separated from inside bead all across top of tread to outside bead. tire blowing out caused damage to fender. no evidence that the tire struck anything in the road, initial report from a goodyear rep said that the tire just separated. nothing was found in the road or vicinity to indicate that the tire struck anything
Grinding from left wheel. vibration from left wheel. front left bearing hub assy. bad.
There is a loud "click" noise inside of the front drivers side wheel. it occurs when the vehicle has the wheel completely turned to one direction which makes me believe it's steering or something inside the suspension. it was told to me at the dealership that it was a ball joint, which was replaced and it still happened again.
Driving home from work on highway at 11pm. traveling 80mph on a 75mph freeway. truck in 4 wheel drive since 8 degrees out and light snow. rear axle seized and locked up. lost control of rear wheels. able to steer it to median since front axle was working. had to be towed. took it to dodge dealership. had to replace both rear axles at a cost of $4063.91 using rebuilt parts. *tr

While vehicle was in park and lowering the four corner suspension system to entry/exit mode, an extremely loud pussst (like disconnecting an air tool from an compressed air tank). this caused the driver/passenger to jump and and pets to bolt into the driver/passenger seat. my concern is this may happen while the vehicle is in motion at a high rate speed and cause the driver to become distracted and cause an accident. several posts to forums from jeep owners have experienced smililar issues in their chrysler made vehicles with air suspension. *tr
