Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. while driving approximately 70 mph, the air bag warning indicator suddenly illuminated. the contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. the contact took the vehicle to athens dodge chrysler jeep ram (located at 4145 atlanta hwy, athens, ga 30606, 706-510-0290), but it was not officially diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 54,000. *cw manufacturer stated that a diagnostic check was needed to replace the wiring harness in the steering column. consumer states that this is a common problem with dodge ram 1500 trucks and that manufacturer should do a recall. *dl

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. the contact stated that the air bag warning indicator started flashing and remained illuminated permanently. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 58,000. vehicle was taken to the dodge dealer where consumer purchased vehicle.. consumer was informed that he would have to pay to have diagnostic testing done to determine the cause of the failure. consumer states failure is common in other 2012 dodge ram 1500 vehicles. consumer says failure was caused by the wiring harness in the steering column. manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not assist. *dl

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. while driving 15 mph, the driver's side air bag popped without warning. after the air bag popped, the check engine and air bag warning indicators illuminated. there were no injuries. the contact took the vehicle to richardson chrysler jeep dodge ram (1321 n central expy, richardson, tx 75080, 214-329-0862) and was informed that there was an unknown transmission recall on the vehicle, but nothing in relation to the air bags. the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 15v459000 (air bags); however, the vin was not included. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 81,000.

I was driving a 2012 dodge ram 1500 in motion, traveling south on hwy 20 at 55 mph. toyota tundra ran stop sign on mckenzie rd/ hwy 20 and was cited for infraction traveling approximately 45 mph. toyota tundra hit passenger side of dodge ram cab broadside causing dodge ram to rollover twice in ditch eventually landing on wheels and stopping. driver side airbags and driver front air bag did not inflate in dodge ram. only passenger side airbags inflated in dodge ram. i was the driver of the dodge ram and received concussion from hitting head on steering wheel and neck and back injuries from hitting driver side door during rollovers. i was wearing a seatbelt. the dodge ram and toyota tundra were declared a total loss by insurance company. the impact of the collision was severe enough to drastically impact speed of the dodge ram and cause major vehicle damage during roll over. why didn't driver side airbags deploy? attached are photos and citation for accident. *dt *tr

My air bag light came on in my dashboard and it will not go off tried resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery cable but the air bag symbol light still remains on.

My ram 2012 truck was involved in a crash on the highway i-83 north bound in pa. my truck was in park when it was struck from the behind by a jeep limited. the force launched my truck forward and hit the vehicle in front of me that was about 10-15 feet away. i am guessing the speed of jeep when i was struck was atleast 40 mph or more. the airbags did not deployed. the damage to my truck is almost $12,000. damages were to the front, rear, and the frame of the truck. damages to the other two vehicles were far worst

Air bag warning light intermittently comes on and goes off. this occurs while driving. dt consumer took the vehicle to the dealer. consumer wiggled the wires and the light went out so problem was fixed and dealer did not charge the consumer. *jb

November 2018, on a highway, hit a bump, and the seat belt and air bag lights came on, there was a message that the driver's side seatbelt was unfastened, even though the seat belt was securely fastened, and the seat belt chime rang continuously. about 100 miles later, i hit another bump and the lights went off and the truck stayed functioning correctly for several months. in january 2019, after starting the vehicle and fastening the seat belt, the seat belt light came back on, the air bag light came back on and the seat belt message says that it is not fastened and it chimes continuously for about five minutes. i took the vehicle to the dealership on february 20, 2019. they found a code "u0151 ocr module lost communication" and told me the ocr module would have to be replaced but it is on back order. the vehicle continues to malfunction. the vehicle has not ever been in any accidents that would have deployed the air bags. the vehicle has less than 73,000 miles on it. i am uploading several pictures. the first is the ...

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. while driving 50 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into an embankment. prior to the failure, the contact felt an abnormal jolt in the vehicle. the air bags did not deploy. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to a body shop, but a cause of the failure had not been determined. the contact suffered moderate stiffness, which required medical attention. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was notified and did not assist. the failure mileage was approximately 54,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. while driving 30 mph on a two lane road, two vehicles in the left lane were racing. the contact had to swerve to avoid a head on collision. when the contact swerved to the right, the vehicle struck a concrete barrier. the vehicle flipped over onto the passenger side and the front end frame was bent. the driver's and front passenger air bags failed to deploy. the contact suffered injuries to the face, shoulders, and eyes, which required medical attention. the contact also suffered memory loss. the vehicle was towed. the manufacturer investigated the failure and concluded that the vehicle was not traveling fast enough for the air bags to deploy. the manufacturer stated that the vehicle should have been traveling at least 18 mph for the air bags to deploy. the manufacturer provided case number: 57184099. a police report was filed. the vehicle was repaired at a body shop. the failure mileage was 104,000. *dt*jb

Vehicle will not come out of cruise by switch or sometimes not by brake especially when it's been raining. no action. when vehicle is in highway above 60 miles /hr.

Takata recall - dodge ram 1500 4x4 airbag light has come on while in motion on a city street in westport wa. unknown faulty airbag due to moisture and salt in the air

Mfg recall # t79 and nhtsa # 17v-821 also third rear cab brake light is leaking into the cab which can leak into airbags, may cause a malfunction due to corrosion.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. the contact received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 15v459000 (air bags). the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. bill luke chrysler, dodge, ram (2425 w camelback rd, phoenix, az 85015, (602) 249-1234) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. the manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect.
