Existing case #11308350 hissing sound in gas tank while on road in motion, on a city street, and a highway and turning and stationary, even noticed it when truck is turned off and sound will not turn off, killed one battery already, truck does not smell like gas. maybe electrical definitely should be recalled seems dangerous. may also add that driver seat is flat and ripped due to manufacture defect like most cars and trucks, common issue should be recalled thank you

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. while driving 25 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise. the contact noticed that the front fuel tank was hanging and the strap was making contact with the ground. there were no warning indicators illuminated. the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 18v160000 (fuel system, gasoline). the contact called precision chrysler jeep dodge ram (located at 1341 nj-23, butler, nj 07405, (973) 838-6808) and informed them of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 130,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. the contact stated that a bracket was rusted around the fuel tank. the fuel tank was basically an inch off the ground while driving home on a 500 mile road trip. the contact noticed this because the bracket dragged on the ground and caused sparks. the vehicle was towed on a flatbed to lester glenn chrysler dodge jeep ram fiat (1199 nj-37 w, toms river, nj 08755, (732) 481-2586) where it was diagnosed that the front and rear straps needed to be replaced at the cost of $1,600. the manufacturer was notified and provided a case number. the manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not covered under a recall because the vehicle was made overseas and shipped to canada. the failure mileage was 100,000.*dt *tr *dt*jb *tr*jb
Fuel pump relay will not shut off causing battery to die
I started to have trouble with the truck as it would not start in the mornings when i was trying to go to work. i replaced the fuel pump and it did not solve the problem. shortly after that, my battery would be dead most mornings. i replaced the battery, but still the problems continued. the truck started to lose power while i was driving so i took it to a mechanic. he told me that the tipm was faulty and needed to be replaced. i had to take it to the dealership i purchased it from to have it fixed. i have driven the truck less that 7000 miles since i purchased it. after speaking with fca, they say that they won't do anything to help out because the truck is out of warranty. i want to know why a recall was never put in place and enacted because i have seen thousands of complaints from people having the same problems. i would like to know why i'm having to pay $1794.03 out of pocket for the faults of the manufacturer pf the vehicle.
Fuel filler overflow when using automatic cutoff on gas station pumps. significant amount of fuel spewing out. appears to be a safety problem. good video already on youtube. happens almost every fill up. widely reported on dodge ram forum affecting model years back to at least 2009.
2012 ram 1500 vin not included in recalled vin had the front fuel strap pull out of frame and was not holding up the gas tank. i am unsure if this let loose when stationary or while driving. the front of the gas tank was close to the ground nearly making contact. i am reporting this because the dealership said it was not part of the recall group and there may be more vin's that need recalled.
Fuel pump relay faulty which could of caused accident.inferior design that was not included in a recall that some other vehicles by same manufacturer were.no easy permanent fix except taking to dealer for 90.00 bypass kit or a 1000.00 tipm unit.thankfully vehicle was parked when failed.
There has been a recall on the durango and jeep cherokee with same relay in the fuse box (tipm) my fuel pump continues to run after truck is shut off creating a fire hazard. there are websites dedicated and making money on fixing this known problem. please look further into it. and feel free to contact me if need be.
Fuel pump failing intermittently. mechanic diagnosed a bad fuel pump relay on the tipm. i have found this is a very common problem and other chrysler products with same issue have been recalled but the ram trucks with the identical part and problem have not been recalled. failure of fuel pump while driving could cause vehicle to stall with possibility of crash causing injury or death. so far the fuel pump failure has only happened when starting but i have read on forums of failure during driving.
2012 ram 1500 was repaired on 11/09/2018 due to 18v160000 frame bracket issue.. a few days after recall action occurred the engine check light came on signifying the gas cap was leaking and needed to be replaced. dealer tech checked and said there was a small evaporation leak but the gas cap seemed to be sealing ok. dealer tech reset the engine check light. week later light came back on. i bought a new gas cap and replaced old one. reset the engine check light. message now back and i get no response from the dealer or chrysler customer support. if this is an evaporation leak in this fuel system i would believe this is an environment issue. how many others have had this recall performed and face the same issue?
Tipm computer issues. fuel pump not shutting off dur to relay sticking inside the tipm. random engine shutdown in traffic. abs system inactive due to electrical issues inside the tipm. engine codes from options not installed in the truck from factory. tipm not recognizing key in ignition (cannot start with key. only by remote) brake failure due to abs module not getting signal from tipm.

I'm one of the few owners of a ram 1500 with a common problem. the fuel pump relay. it has become a constant problem with ram owners like myself. first it seems as if your fuel pump had gone out and your truck will not start. after contacting mechanics and paying around $900to replace it the problem stills exist. then after sonorous attempts to find out what the problem is it's the relay that ram dealers know all about. it cost around a$1000 or more to have it repaired. i've contacted them and made them aware of the problem that myself and others are experiencing and they say there's nothing they can do they will not recall the problem they know your going to have prior to purchasing the truck. please help us to resolve this ongoing issue. thankyou.
My columm shift not going all way up in barking to let go of the key. im drive this vehicle and it get worst have no other vechile to get aroynd in if this vechile end up kill me and my grand child that law suite on you. now got told gas strap is recall 2 if that drops and catch some fire another lawsuit
Front gas tank strap pulled out of frame of truck, gas tank was hanging about 3 inches from ground and grinding against drive shaft , strap cradle that was attached to frame was totally rotted away, truck has 46,000 well maintained miles and is in excellent condition , when i returned to dealer on 1/30/2018 where i purchased the truck new in september 2012 they informed me frame is rotted and not repairable, they apologized and told me they could not help me in any way . desperate for help i went to a local mechanic and i learned the frame was not rotted but the bracket on the frame had rotted away. this mechanic welded everything back together and i paid him $400 out of my pocket, after reading some dodge ram forums i learned i am not the only one who has had this problem, luckily for me nothing bad happened i was only going 20 mph on a local road , gas tank had just been filled and holds 32 gallons of fuel , just thought i should report this so it does not happen to someone else with a worse outcomes,

Fuel pump relay in the tippin went out. stationary as would not start. took to shop, shop owner said he has seen this in other dodge rams(recently as two weeks before we brought ours in), was told that several models have been recalled for this exact same problem(dodge caravan, jeep cherokee, and the dodge durango) but the dodge ram is not included. he repaired the vehicle using the fix that was used on all the other recalled vehicles. gave us info on where he found the fix which in turn opened our eyes that hey there or lots of these faulty fuel pump relays out there. went to the chrysler dealership where my husband was told, yes they have been seeing this as well and to save our receipts just in case it was added but that there was nothing they could do at this time and there were no plans that they new of for it to be added to the recall. talked to chrysler corporation and they said they are not the ones who adds cars to the recall they could do nothing for us either. cbwpr091aa was the replacement number for the part given to the shop owner from mopar. just wanted to pass this along since several other chrysler vehicles have had this same recall and we live in a city of around 10,000 so if several people in our city have had this same issue with their dodge rams, then surely there at tons more out there. thank you
There is a known problem with the exhaust manifold bolts breaking on the 5.7 engines. i've had to have both manifolds repaired in under a year. this problem allows exhaust fumes to enter the cabin exposing the occupants to carbon monoxide.
Exhaust manifold bolts constantly break. this causes exhaust leak at the cylinder heads in the engine compartment. i have had this repaired twice in the past year and the problem is there again.
Recall tipm ? fuel pump and tipm with a cost of $1,700 to repair at dodge dealership. many others are having the same issue. why is this not a recall?
My vehicle started acting up a few times when i would go to start the vehicle, the engine would turn over and then stall out. i thought it was strange, but continued to drive it. while driving down an ice and snow packed road in the middle of traffic my vehicle stalled out; lost all power steering, brakes locked up, lights shut off, and i almost ended up rear-ending the car in front of me going 45 mph. i pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and was able to get it started again. since then i have taken it to the car dealership and they told me the win module needed replaced along with the key fob ($725) that was not covered under my warranty. upon further investigation i see this is a common problem. i called chrysler headquarters and they told me that there was nothing they could do about it. this is a serious issue and needs a recall! it has done it several more times while driving. i have no other choice but to drive the vehicle due to it being my only means of transport. something needs to be done about this. i've had the truck less than a year.
Tipm failed to work correctly resulting in no fuel pressure periodically and without warning. engine would fail to run. sometimes it would be ok and then sometimes the engine would not run. ram said they would have to locate a new tipm. they didnt have one because of alot of these had failed, so theyre in high demand. why arent these being recalled then??
Took my truck to get inspection and it didn't pass because of code p0456 : evaporative emission system leak detected why?
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 ram 1500. while the vehicle was idling in park, the contact opened the driver's door. as he attempted to step out, his left foot slipped and caused him to accidentally shift the gear into drive while the right foot was off the brake pedal. the vehicle moved and crashed into a building. the air bags did not deploy. there were no injuries sustained and a police report was not filed. the vehicle was damaged, but still driveable. the vehicle was taken to snell motors (1900 madison ave, mankato, mn 56001, 507-345-4626) and the hood was replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure only when the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign numbers: 17v821000 (power train) and 18v160000 (fuel system, gasoline). the manufacturer stated that nothing could be done and that the parts were unavailable. the manufacturer was unable to confirm when the parts were to become available. however, when the contact called the manufacturer again, he was informed to send the receipts for an evaluation. the failure mileage was approximately 54,000. parts distribution disconnect for nhtsa campaign number: 17v821000 (power train) and vin tool confirms parts not available for nhtsa campaign number: 18v160000 (fuel system, gasoline).
Currently, when getting into vehicle we have been having issues starting the truck. it has even stalled out on us while driving on the interstate. tood to dealership and due to the check engine light not being on they informed us they were unable to do the dionogstic test.
Received recall notice that a steering wheel harness could rub and deploy the airbag at any time. i took the truck to hollywood chrysler hollywood fl and they repaired and returned. when i arrived and for the preceding months prior my "fuel economy display" indicated my average mileage was 15.8 gallons per mile reasonably within the specs for this vehicle. following the wiring harness repair the display now (and for more than 2 weeks ) reports 11.8 mpg. somehow the repair altered the fuel usage of the vehicle. the dealer checked and said nothing was wrong. but my mileage has gone from 15.8 to 11.8. i'm not driving differently. i'm losing 30% of my gas and the vehicle is now under advertised specs of 14/20 mpg there is an issue they don't want to discuss. can the nhtsa contact other owners with this repair and verify? can you help? thanks
The tipm and fuel relay keep going out in my truck. it causes it to not start or the fuel pump keeps running and drains my battery overnight. i've contacted dodge since they have recalls on other vehicles with the same problem, but they refuse to do anything about it
Upon selecting transmission "d" option instrument panel indicated "6", drove to barn for horse feed. needing to back up to fence, to disperse feed, transmisson selection of "r" was necessary. using the brake pedal to regulate speed and no usage of accelerator pedal (as automatic transmisson vehicles will generally motivate when gear selection is initiated) "sudden acceleration" occurred causing damage to tailgate which was down. brake pedal was pressed and vehicle was stopped. with brake pedal depressed transmisson selection "d" was initiated, in order to investigate damage, and once again with brake pedal used to regulate speed and no usage of accelerator pedal "sudden acceleration" was again encountered. brake pedal was again depressed which stopped vehicle. no further occurrances were encountered that day. weather was sunny and cool, high 40's, with dry conditions. *tr

Engine idle spiked and dropped in rush hour stop and go traffic until the truck eventually stalled. i placed the truck in park and tried restarting. the "electronic throttle control" light illuminated in the dash. i turned the truck off and tried restarting. the starter turned over but the truck acted as if an element needed for combustion was missing. i turned my hazards on--as traffic was clearing around me. i tried starting the truck a dozen times before calling 911 (since i was in the middle of an interstate hwy). i texted a friend who said try starting with the accelerator pedal fully depressed--the truck started, but then went right back to spiking idle and the engine died again. at this time traffic was speeding by so fast on both sides that i could not exit the vehicle. state patrol came to push me to the shoulder. truck started again on the shoulder after several attempts and i managed to move it about 50 feet before it died again. had truck towed to nearest dealership where they informed me it may take up to 2 weeks before they can diagnose my truck. still under warranty. second time this has happened with this vehicle in 6 weeks. first time dealership drove truck 84 miles and returned it with a note saying they could not replicate the problem. *tr
My 2012 ram 1500 has been in the shop seven times in the past year for electrical problems. the original problems were related to the pcm which would short out and cause my vehicle to operate in only one gear. this problem was fixed finally by replacing the pcm and various other parts. my truck recently had the engine temperature sensor, right headlight, and fuel pump control go out all around the same time which made it difficult for my truck to start and when it did start it sounded anemic and would often have alerts going off. the dealership claimed that the tipm was the cause of the fuel pump problems and now i am wondering if it is the route of all the other problems. this most recent repair cost me $1000 dollars and well over $100 in alternative transportation arrangements. my truck is only two and a half years old with 50k miles on it. i should not be having this many problems with this new of a vehicle. chrysler and ram have a well documented history of recent problems with the tipm across various vehicles and an investigation needs to be conducted and customers need to be compensated for the problems this part has caused.
At about 18000 miles on vehicle it suddenly stalled. throttle body control light came on, rpm dropped to almost zero. pumping gas pedal had no effect. condition lasted about 15 to 25 seconds. took truck to dealer and was informed it needed a throttle body software update. this was done. also was performed again later. the stalling is intermittent some times not happening for weeks then again it will happen up to 3 times in a week.bit once stalled on my lady as she was crossing an intersection . vehicle now has 77000 miles on odometer . i thought this just a hassle until about three weeks ago. as i was merging on to the interstate at about 65 mph in front of a big truck the vehicle stalled for a long period. the big rig was within a very few feet of my vehicle before engine started running again. needless to say this scared me big time. this was when i started to look for someone to be in my corner on this vehicle has been serviced by dodge dealership regularly since new. each time i have reported stalls and at one time had a case opened with chrysler. i am told they find nothing and they only have my word this is happening. this from dealer and chrysler
Sometimes when vehicle comes to a complete stop it feels as though it is being rear ended even though no one is behind it.
