Problems with 2013 Nissan Versa POWER TRAIN

On average, the 2013 Nissan Versa starts to “feel” problems with the POWER TRAIN and its various aspects after 78 796 miles.

Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2013 Nissan Versa

Since buying the car in 2016, my car transmission has recently failed. i had no light up that indicated a warning in my transmission. my car stopped in the middle of the road as i was turning left into a 4-way intersection. before that the fan was also defected upon purchasing. i own the the car now.

Starting at 50,000 miles the car started to make a squeaking noise when accelerating. the car was maintained by a mechanic and all belts were checked. there was no cars found at that time. after hitting approximately 50,000 miles i started having more issues that included louder noises from the engine, unexpected acceleration, and after letting the foot off of the gas pedal the car would slow down immensely. recently the car was checked again by my mechanic and it was found it was the transmission that was at fault. a few times with the car in park had severe tremors too. now with 75,000 miles the car is having strong jerks when being put i to reverse. also, when accelerating i need to let off the gas and allow the transmission time to change gear.

Every time i want to speed my car slow down, and has a weird sounds in the moter.

When driving as i am picking up speed car jerks (pull) as it switching gears.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan versa. while driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle began to stall and would not accelerate when depressing the accelerator pedal. the contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently while driving and without warning. the contact took the vehicle to berman nissan of chicago (3456 n kedzie ave, chicago, il 60618, 773-295-4650) where it was diagnosed that a new transmission was needed. the contact was given a quote of $4,000 for the cost of repairs. the contact informed the manufacturer of the failure and they agreed to pay 60% of the cost for a new transmission. the vehicle had not been repaired. the failure mileage was 106,000.

While driving onto the freeway my car starting hesitating to catch speed and after it did while i was driving on the freeway it began to shudder and loose power . it was accompanied we with whining sound and no check engine light indicator came on . i went to a transmission had a fluid exchange done and the fluid turned to a dark looking oil almost similar to motor oil . the transmission continues to malfunction on the highway at high speed and on city road at lower speeds. the quality of my drive train declined to to the point of no longer running. my vehicle has now been parked for almost 2 and a half months . it only has 114,000 miles on it . i called nissan north america will not help me fix it because it is out of warranty

I was about to pull out of a parking lot, i changed my gear from parked to drive and as i started to drive out, i noticed my check engine light turned on again and my car jerked back and forth a couple of times as i started to accelerate. this is not the first time this has happened, but usually the car only jerks for a second whenever i change gears.

I have had a juddering and delayed acceleration issue since reaching 50,000 miles had it checked by the dealer and was told no issue could be found. i thought it was the tires. since then the juddering and low delayed acceleration just got worse. went to the dealer again and they reprogrammed the tcm transmission control module? since the tcm was reprogrammed i have had 2 occasions when accelerating to go on the highway where the rpms jumped up to 5000 and over with no power (high rpms and no power). i had to pull over come to complete stop and until the rpms would come down. also every time when going up hills big or small the vehicle's rpms jump up and barley makes it up the hill. (high rpms and no power) this vehicle is an accident waiting to kill me or someone else. the dealer inspected it again with no indicators tells me its the transmission finally. i could have told you that back at 50,0000 miles.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan versa. while driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle stopped without warning. the contact applied the emergency brake and restarted the vehicle. the dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan versa. when the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to have the fuel tank repaired, the contact was informed that the transmission software needed to be updated. the vehicle was taken to mossy nissan chula vista (1885 auto park pl, chula vista, ca 91911, (619) 397-6578) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 76,000.

Car was parked in a parking spot. it was able to move in reverse; however, when in 'drive' no power/gas was going to the vehicle. we had it towed to a service center and was told vehicle needed a new transmission.

When i first purchased my vehicle (new) in 2012 for the 2013 nissan versa, i noticed that when taking off at a red light, the engine/trans sounded like it was a hesitating to go. i mentioned this to the service guy when i went in for my first oil change, he said that it's because it a cvt transmission. about 1 year ago or so, the car would jerk when taking off at 20mph and the rpm needle would go up and down as i accelerate to go faster, i've taken this car for oil changes and kept up with the recommended services. i've had the trans oil changed and it still does this especially going on the expressway. the car hesitates to go, and now i read that there are multiple people having the same issues just like i do. this morning when getting on the expressway to go to work, i was accelerating and it hesitated (like always), then as i gave it gas, it jerked (rmp needle jumped to 4 then back down to 2) and sped up and i almost hit the vehicle in front of me. i'm so nervous right now. please help. this is dangerous! i'm a single mom of 3 and very precious cargo with me. i don't want to have an accident because of this really bad system, and then something to be done about it. there has to be some kind of recall on these transmissions before someone gets killed.

Transmission slips stalls shudders and won't pull away from stop light at times also on acceleration it hesitated badly

2013 nissan versa struggles to turn on. car also idles rough and has stalled at stop lights. took it to buena park nissan and they said there was nothing wrong with it. recently the engine light came on, it was p0705 transmission range sensor.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan versa. while driving approximately 65 mph, the transmission suddenly failed and the vehicle would not accelerate. the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the continuously variable transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the local dealer (mossy nissan, 8118 clairemont mesa blvd, san diego, ca) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 52,000.

Transmission stick in first gear and will not change gears on city streets

Takata recall: transmission blew out after 2 years of buying off the nissan lot. this happened when in route out of town for the day, car was stalling and seemed to be in neutral but actually in drive. had to tow home after stopping and going on streets and freeways.

Transmission went out at 129 thousand miles..called nissan and they said it was 9 thousand miles out of warranty..and that it was our problem..absolutely rude about it..we have 161 thousand on it now still with a bad transmission cause it's to expensive to fix.. people have told me about recalls on the cvt transmission but i can't find any for this car

I've spoken to nissan complaints, and i've gotten nothing. nissan versas intermittently shutter when driving. this is dangerous. nissan told me it could be the transmission, but refuse to dig into it because they claim they can't find the codes. this is crap. i'm not driving an unsafe vehicle. the transmission is a cvt. when i accelerate past 2 rpg it shutters repeatedly. there needs to be some kind of recall

I drive a 2013 nissan versa. i've had it about 4 years, the car has about 40,000 miles. recently, my car started shuttering (vibrating) as i accelerate. i've taken my car to the dealership twice (third time will be either tomorrow or tuesday) and they cannot figure out what's going on with it. i don't know if this is dangerous or not and not only do i depend on this car, but i drive an 82 year old woman around to dr appointments. nissan itself doesn't want to do anything about this problem (you know, like finding out why this is happening.) this is ridiculous and the nhtsa needs to not only hold them accountable, but also force nissan to fix this problem. i'm paying a boat load of money and time trying to get to the bottom of this issue

Got po705 code, engine light on... sometimes the gear display gets black...does not display in what gear i am..i turn off and back on to make sure i see in what gear i am...while in drive, and idle at traffic light, the engine hesitates a lot like something was misplaced......

Driving my nissan since couples weeks before i start fealing loosing power keep driving took it to the mechanic and told the provlem must be the transmission i always drive at 78 west front elizabth nj to exit 12 and never have any issue like this i only have this car for no mar than 2 years its sad that thr car get broken the transmission so soon

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan versa. while driving 45 mph, the rpms increased to 5,000. the accelerator pedal was applied, but failed to respond without warning. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a local dealer. the vehicle was towed to a local dealer (alan webb nissan, located at 3608 ne auto mall dr, vancouver, wa 98662) where it was diagnosed that the ctv transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken back to the local dealer, but they were unable to duplicate the failure. the manufacturer was notified of the issue and opened case number: 29733173 but no further assistance was provided. the failure mileage was 104,000.

The last couple of months, i've noticed my car has been making a high whining noice-when i accelerate, the car also revs up to 4000rpms , driving on the highway at 65mph. yesterday, 01/19/2018- my car no longer moved forward- as if stuck in neutral.i've also noticed that my back turn signal on the driver's side is out, thus affecting the front driver's turn signal. the front turn signal "clicks" qucikly. everytime i turn on the left turn signal, my car whines and doesn't accelerate properly.

The transmission went out at 85,000 miles, took it to a nissan dealership and the service manager said that he deals with it all time and is a very common problem with those transmissions and didnt understand why nissan still used them. spoke to nissan usa and they wanted to fight to pay for the cost and wanted to rebuild the transmission. the service tech laughed and said you couldn't rebuild it because its a closed system. only owners of the car and had to replace the transmission with 85,000 miles on it.

I recently purchased this 4 year old vehicle with 62000 miles on it. driving on the highway at 65 miles per hour, the vehicle suddenly lost power. by the grace of god, i was able to maneuver off the highway without being run over by the semi trucks traveling the highway with me. i had the vehicle towed to a nissan dealership where i was told the transmission was 'defective' and would need to be replaced. after looking into this issue, i find thousands of people with the exact same complaint and one class action law suit already settled over the same issue. how can a manufacturer be allowed to continue using a faulty transmission and not be made responsible for its correction? these vehicles are not cheap, and those of us paying for them did not purchase a disposable vehicle!

The transmission indicator on the display goes out frequently while in motion. when the display is out, the cvt transmission shudders, slips, and/or 'downshifts' hard. there is also a lack of power when accelerating which becomes a problem when entering traffic. the indicator will go out and then come back on intermittently while operating the vehicle.

It has a problem with the transmission in the dealer told me that i have to buy a new transmission and only has 85700 miles

Nissan cvt transmission experiencing issues, being very unsafe. while driving down the road normally, the car started revving very high. after pulling over and turning the car off, then turning it back on, it continued to rev over 3,000 rpm at about 10-15 mph and never "shift" into higher gear. this has happened twice before, and turning the car off and on solved the issue. it was serviced by the dealership with new cvt fluid, but now the problem has persisted and has not gone away with shutting the vehicle off and on. it most recently happened while driving, luckily there were no other cars nearby, and i had to have the vehicle towed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan versa. while driving low speeds, the vehicle experienced hesitation. once the vehicle registered that the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle experienced excessive acceleration. the vehicle was towed to #1 cochran nissan of south hills (3200 w liberty ave, pittsburgh, pa) where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed software reprogramming. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the vehicle was returned to the dealer where it was diagnosed that a new transmission was needed. the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failures and did not assist. the failure mileage was approximately 80,000. the vin was not provided.

Transmission failure at 65000, 5k beyond warrenty. transmission is slipping between gears around 35-40 mph

This nissan vehicle's cvt transmission failed under warranty and was replaced. that transmission failed again in less than six months and because it was outside the replacement transmission's warranty, the dealer nor nissan will replace the defective transmission. i don't want to replace the transmission for a third time with what appears to be a defective product that will likely fail again and is a serious safety issue that nissan will not accept responsibility for.

While my son was driving and after coming to a complete stop at a red light (four way intersection) on a city highway, the car cut off in the center of the intersection. once the light turned green, he proceeded to accelerate, the car went a few feet and shut off.

I purchased a used car from mr. bill motor co in arlington, tx on pioneer parkway. the vehicle started to overheat. i called to inform mr. bill motors and i was told they would send it out to be looked at and let me know when it was ready for pick up. it was taken to dg's performance on pioneer parkway for repairs. about a week later the car resumed overheating, i contacted mr. bill motors again and they said they would send the vehicle out for repair. they sent it to longhorn transmissions. as my daughter was headed to school after the repairs were completed on i-20 in arlington, tx the car starts to overheat and stops on her, she could not drive the car. she calls longhorn and they send a tow to get her. she was told they did not place the cap on the transmission when they added fluid to it so they would take care of it. two days later the car is heating again. i contact mr. bill motors again in person so they could see and with a video of what the car had been doing, they tell me they will work on it the next day. i could not drive the car from the lot, the engine light was on and i rolled into the street. two sales men had to push the car unto the property from the street. two days go by and i am told that it is a transmission issue that will cost me $1500 and take a week to repair from scott and he states that matt another manager is present with him. i called to discuss status update, missing items from the car to find out they were charging me $235 for the tow that longhorn transmission billed them. i explained that i had no knowledge of this charge, nor do i feel responsible for the charge. they did not put the cap on they should be responsible for the charge and that you do not charge anyone without discussing the amount with the person. i asked for the total cost of the repair and i stated i wanted to speak to the repair place. i was given a number for jeff.

Cvt trans internal failure @60,933 mi. , trans made a loud clunking sound beforebecoming inoperable, required a tow truck to get to dealer. now has new cvt trans @ no cost because car was covered by warranty vehicle died on hwy exit ramp.

Both front wheel bearing went out, started making a loud noise.

Transmission shakes /studders and vibrates on acceleration at low speeds when pressing on gas. also no delay in acceleration when pressing gas from stop or slow speeds.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan versa. while driving at various speeds, the vehicle changed into different gears and the brake pedal extended to the floorboard when it was depressed. there were no warning lights illuminated. the dealer diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired with a new transmission, but the failure persisted. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 20,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan versa. the contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. the vehicle was restarted and operated normally for approximately 5 miles before stalling a second time. the contact indicated that the failure was recurring. the vehicle was taken to the dealer but the defect could not be duplicated and no repairs were performed. the contact also stated that the transmission erroneously engaged into neutral. the manufacturer was not contacted. the failure mileage was 3000. *tr
