3 times to dealership to complain about transmission shifting issues. 1st time they had a new transmission program update to install. i noticed no difference. 2nd and 3rd time to dealer to inform them that transmission doesn't know which gear to be in at city speeds of 20-40 mph. also when full throttle desired engine speed doesn't increase for 2-3 seconds . . also on slowing down coasting for stop light or stop sign transmission clunks as it downshifts into either 1st or 2nd. . all this in normal transmission mode. tow mode appears to be no issues. nissan dealer mechanic cannot duplicate. on my drive with mechanic i heard it clunk during drive and mechanic didnt. as usual no help. i requested the transmission be reset to relearn my driving to change shift patterns and was told they didnt have that capability. cummins 5.0 diesel with aisin transmission
Leaking axles seals after multiple replacements and incidents on road. not covered under warranty or recall even though there are thousands of reports for this issue and axle overheating. vehicle axle broke near bearing going 65 mph on highway with no warning two weeks ago 9/10/2019 there is still no safety recall.
7/15/19 3:40 pm rush hour, began entering a state rd to cross both lanes, traffic traveling both directions posted 55 mph moved in a straight line halfway into oncoming traffic, but suddenly could not accelerate. had to quickly reverse to avoid tbone situation from both sides. scared me horribly. backed up more tried again to go forward before attempting to cross but the same thing happened. engine was revving at high rpms but truck would only move inches at a time in forward motion. so i traveled backwards in reverse the length of the whole street i was on to get back to my driveway and backed up my driveway where i parked and called for a ride from my hvac tech who was meeting me at my church to install much needed ac unit. only a couple days earlier, i had fluid leaking and took the truck in for repair, the tech informed me the transmission fluid and antifreeze tank had failed. the engine needed to be flushed, the tank, radiator and fluid replaced. he told me it happened all the time with nissans. i will attach invoice from highly reputable repair shop.
As i was driving on the road at red traffic light, when the light turned green, i started to move, the engine started to make loud noise and the engine shut off. this happened when the vehicle was at 56k miles. later on, found out at dealer that the crank shaft was broken. the engine got replaced under warranty. it is not a guarantee that this does not happen again. there are lots of other same model truck had this happened. 2017 titan xd 5.0 cummins diesel
Overheated, engine would not start, transmission would not shift to go mostly sluggish. this is my 3rd time titan overheated, had to be towed.
Truck has a shake between 45-75 mph. depends on rpms and tire pressure. does not matter if it is highway or city. most notable between 65-72mph. have had it to the dealer 3 times. 1st time, they said it was the tires as there were new and overinflated. told to drive it a few hundred miles. 2nd time at dealer, the road forced balanced and replaced a tire. no fix. 3rd time, a service tech actually rode with me. let the vibrations, noted them as well. after we arrived back to the dealer, waited 20 minutes until the service tech came back. tech stated that the truck has stiff springs and performed as expected. the tech looked like he didn't even believe it. i have heard all three of these scenarios for "fixes" from other titan owners. it must be the line they sell us. also, why do not all titans have the shake? disappointing that nissan won't acknowledge the issue or attempt to really fix it. issue has been since day one of ownership, july 2019.
While driving on the interstate the rear differential of my truck gave out and started smoking. i lost all power to control the momentum of the truck, almost causing it to flip because i was in the middle of changing lanes while driving 73 mph. i managed to coast to the side of the road and upon inspection of the passenger side rear axle i found all fluid had leaked out onto the rear wheel and it was smoking. i tried putting the truck in gear to see if i could move but there was no power being provided to the drive train. the only possible explanation is that the rear differential gave out. the truck only has 91006 miles on it and if this had occurred on one of the curves i and my family would all be in the hospital right now. the truck is currently parked at a repair shop awaiting repairs.
I was driving on the highway when my nissan titan 2005 started shaking while driving on a modern traffic. i suddenly started losing control of the truck and thank god i manage exit the freeway with the speed i manage to control. i pull over to the right and tried to find out what was wrong. my truck didn't want to turn on and i had 1/4 of gas left so it was imposible i needed gas after trying different methods, i walked to the nearest gas station, bought a gallon of gas with its proper fuel container and added to my truck then it turn on. i contacted my nearest nissan dealer and they fixed 2 recalls that my truck already had but they didn't want to fix my main problem which is the fuel pump. and i read many nissan titan 2005 are having this problem, i found the recall number (10v074000) which the dealer i attended didn't want to fix it. it's been a bad experience because i could of crash and it couldn't gone worse due to my gas not been correctly plus i missed work and it's just putting stress on me ...
My truck has been showing p0335 code issues, which is crankshaft sensor, which has been replaced, my rpm's jump/sputter but the truck stars & runs but feels like its running rough, also i forgot to mention that my dashboards "slip" light remains on... and the biggest problem with it is that, no "professionals" seem to know what it is, nor have they been able to fogure it out as of yet.
When flooring the accelerator pedal (as to pull out on entrance ramp) it has diesel lag response (just take a few seconds to accelerate) and also transmission has shifting issues during this time. sometimes intermittent i had a near miss experience when this happened to me i was pulling out onto the highway from the entrance ramp..
