We have classified the 6 complaints from 2005 Nissan Titan about EQUIPMENT into the following categories.
2005 nissan titan 4x2 se. vehicle came with 2 maroni labels same vin number with different dealer addresses different codes, and the one he purchased doesn't match nissan records. *ta
I have a 2005 nissan titan. on thanksgiving evening my family and i were driving home on a major highway when all of a sudden i heard a clunk and lost acceleration. i was in the middle of the highway and had to cross 3 lanes to try and get over to the shoulder. we nearly got hit by many passing cars due to the immediate loss of power and slowing of my truck. after finally towing the truck to the shop i found out that, for the second time, the rear differential went out. the first time was at 75000 miles and the second at 125000 miles. both times i am stuck footing the bill. needless to say my only mode of transportation is still sitting broken until i am able to pay the 3500 dollars to get it fixed. *tr
2005 nissan titan with a known poor exhaust and emission control device leads to premature failure and requires replacement prior to or soon after warranty expires. exhaust manifolds include catalytic convertors and are mounted under stress which causes fracture and emission leaks at the maniflold, into the passenger compartment and not out of the exhaust. severely cracked manifolds can actually allow the engine to run with the tailpipe closed. *tr
Exhaust manifold leaking for the second time. bank 1 side was bad before the 80 emissions warranty was up, however dealership wouldn't do it, so we purchased another oem manifold/cat and had another shop replace it. now 2 years later that side has failed and is leaking again. the catalytic converter has failed on that side also. nissan has not offered a recall. exhaust manifold leaking allows exhaust fumes to not be vented correctly and the fumes can come into the cabin of the vehicle. i have spoken with the dealership and it should be noted i'm out of the 80 k emissions warranty. the oem equipment is not up to par. *tr
2004-2008 titan; rear axle seal leaks. mine is a 05'. right rear wheel well is covered with oil and the inside of the tire is flooded with oil also. 55k miles and from what i understand i was lucky it lasted this long. dealership wants $1,500+ to fix a problem that seems to be a defect not just wear and tear. *tr
Tail pipe fell off while driving on the interstate 2 weeks after nissan performed their 27 point inspection, which supposedly included checking the muffler, exhaust pipes and mountings. a second nissan dealership (out of town) informed us that this was a common occurrence and was actually talking to another nissan titan owner that had the exact same thing happen. the out of town dealership mechanic explained to me that the clamps they use to hold the tail pipe on just behind the muffler, rust off?? so why do they use them??? upon returning home we called the nissan dealership that performed the 27 point inspection (????) he skirted the issue that the box for the "muffler, exhaust pipes and mountings" inspection was checked off as "checked and okay" and informed us that it was a costly fix. nothing was done to repair the vehicle and no apologies were made for the obvious overlook of a rusty clamp that could have caused an accident had it fallen completely off, especially traveling at high speeds on a busy interstate on labor day weekend, had we not heard the clanging of the pipe banging against the underside of the truck. *tr
I own a 2005 nissan titan that has had the rear end diff and axle replaced twice by nissan at 98,000 miles nissan discovered the rear seals leaking, and did nothing about it, i tried to secure a lawyer, the cost was astronomical, at 102,000 miles the valve body in the trans has failed, as a result i contacted nissan north america spoke to gordon middleton, whom on behalf of nna after a sixweek discovery advised me that nna would not be able to assist me, even after promising repairing the rear seal in earlier conversation, later refused to lift a hand, costing me six weeks of car rental cost, and the agonizing pain of waiting on a decision that would never come anyway. please assist me in this matter my 2005 nissan titan le is still not fixed. *tr
Nissan titan rear differential failure. *tr
My titan, as i'm driving hesitates, or momentarily cuts response, and my engine stalls and turns off, i have since then found out that my ipdm was the responsible component for such stalls.....it happens twice a day at ungiven times, i replaced the ipdm and have had no problems. *tr
Tl*the contact owns a 2005 nissan titan. while driving at an unknown speed, smoke entered the vehicle through the vents. there were no warning lights illuminated prior to the failure; however, the left turn signal stopped working. the dealer could not determine the cause of the failure, but they repaired the vehicle according to nhtsa campaign id number 08v284000 (equipment:electrical:air conditioner). the dealer stated that the automotive repair center that had previously performed the repair caused the wires to melt around the fan. the auto center representative (who was actually the one filing the complaint) stated that the recall remedy did not actually repair the entire failure. the representative further stated that the fan repair was insufficient and the recall notice never described what could overheat. the current mileage was approximately 28,400 and failure mileage was approximately 28,300.
Driving off-road and small hills. front axle failure, 4x4 would not disengage, had to tow it. it is at the dealer present time. getting the run around as far as fixing goes. they are waiting for some mechanic to arrive from outside the dealership to further asses the problem. *tr

2005 nissan titan with a host of serious issues, of course there was the brake problem, radio wouldn't shut off and the air conditioning was weak. then the tires were bald at 25k the latest problem is a rattling of the engine valves, took it the dealer and the acknowledged the noise but said there was nothing they could do until it tripped a warning light. *jb
