My vehicle continues to go into limp mode when driving on the highway. a mechanic states that it the cvt, transmission issue. i just went over my warranty and now i'm going to have to pay out of pocket 3,000-5,000 dollars to have fixed. i have spoke with many others that have the same make and model, 2013-2018 with the same issue. i was in the fast lane and my vehicle would not take the gas and ended up on the side of the rode three times during my trip. once i turned my vehicle off, it would drive normal until i drove for another hour or more.

I was headed south on the i-5 (southern california, lots of constant traffic) when my car stopped accelerating after about 45 minutes. going uphill, i put my pedal to the floor and wasn't going over 60mph, my rpms reaching above 4. my car made a whining noise every time i tried to accelerate. so i put my hazards on, took the closest exit, and let my car rest for about 5-10 minutes. i got back on the freeway after resting and not a minute or two later and the same problem occurred. i put my hazards back on and just pulled off on the shoulder, letting my car rest again for another 5-10 minutes. i tried again, now reaching the top of the hill and was able to finally coast down the hill the problem happening again, but this has happened multiple times before. the first in the beginning of july, the second and third around august and september, and then now. it only happens on drives about an hour long (or longer) when i go out of town.

After about 60k miles, i noticed my 2016 nissan rogue started to become sluggish. it was unable to accelerate quickly. i had to rev it up to at least 4 or 5 rpm to get it to even take off. there was a delay in response to me pushing the gas pedal. the engine started to shudder and shake more than before. i felt like i had to floor it to even go 30. this was very scary when pulling in front of traffic that was already going 60 on the highway. i was unable to accelerate quickly enough to keep up with the flow of traffic. at 70k, it experienced several episodes of complete failure. i'll describe one of my experiences as best as possible. after driving the rogue for about an hour in stop and go rush hour traffic, i decided to stop at starbucks to calm my nerves. i waited in the drive through for about 15 minutes. when pulling out onto the highway, my vehicle would not go above 15mph. i was flooring it, trying to get out of the way of traffic, but the vehicle simply would not accelerate. i pulled into the center ...

Driving on interstate at approx.70 mph, and cruise control kicked off by itself at least 3 times. then all of a sudden i lost power, it was not like a out of gas loss, it just slowed down. i had the gas pedal floored to maintain speed as i was traveling at 70mph in heavy traffic on interstate. i moved to the outside lane to avoid any chance of an accident and took the next exit to turn around and go back home. when i got onto the entrance ramp back to the interstate, it took me about 1/2 mile at least to get up to speed again. since i got back home everything appears normal but i am afraid to travel any distance in case i should loose power again i have had the vehicle put on the computer monitor and they say nothing is showing as wrong. during this exam i was told that if the engine warning light never came on the computer check would not show anything. at no time during the power outage did the engine warning light or any warning device show up.

Driving on interstate about 10 mph. car suddenly makes this loud noise and shuts off. it did restart and i didn't lose electrical as i was on blue tooth call but if happened when i was going faster this would have been a catastrophe! . this is the second time though. the first time i was in parking lot and i thought i did something as it was a new car. i was not touching anything but steering wheel and lightly touching brake as i was in traffic but there was quite some room between me and the car ahead.

My nissan rogue has experienced the same issue 3 times in a 2 month period. 1st time - driving, crossing a busy intersection front end shuddered, shook heavily, check engine light came on. i was able to drive it to local mechanic who ran diagnostics and stated there were too many codes regarding the electric system and recommended i take it to dealership. took it to local dealer, diagnostics were run again, and they reported they were not sure of the issue, suspected damage to the maf sensor (which was then throwing off the report of all other sensors). they replaced it with nissan manufactured part and electric tape and i was told it was good to go. 2nd time - stationary making a left onto busy main street, car shuddered, stalled, no check engine light completely stopped. unable to drive it, when changing gears it just coasted backwards (due to the hill i was on). had it towed to the same dealer, told the same thing as previous visit 'not sure what's wrong, probably the sensor,' was told they replaced it again with nissan manufactured part and 'taped up real good this time.' however could not ...
