Problems with 2018 Nissan Rogue ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL

On average, the 2018 Nissan Rogue starts to “feel” problems with the ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL and its various aspects after 18 759 miles.

Recently reported ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL problems on 2018 Nissan Rogue

I was pulling into my garage a few days ago and the emergency brake system engaged. there was absolutely nothing in front of me when this happened. again today, i was driving down the city road going approximately 25 mph and the car it happened again. the warning flashed, car beeped and just stopped for no reason at all. nothing in front and thankfully no cars behind me. this is extremely dangerous and scary! thank goodness i was not in an accident due to this issue.

I was driving to work this morning at 6:25am about 35 mph on a major road, not highway, when the automatic vehicle brakes stopped the car suddenly. the brakes showed up in the display. there was nothing in front of me, clear road, no rain. i was shaken up a bit, the brakes released

2018 nissan rogues automatic braking feature engages without warning under normal driving conditions with no threat of emergency. automatic braking has brought the car to a full stop at over 30mph creating a major safety concern. currently the sensor at fault is only being repaired under warranty at 2k$. the condition has happened on the highway at highway speed, on heavy inclines, and can be replicated in parking garages with heavy slope. i can recreate this issue with parking garage inclines at any speed and have video documentation

Collision avoidance system activated without cause resulting in vehicle suddenly stopping on roadway.

I was driving on the highway through a puddle that was larger than normal but nothing my car couldn't handle and it just stopped. luckily no one was going super fast behind me but the aeb kicked in and the car stopped dead in its tracks.

The car on multiple occasions has randomly braked (grinding like brakes) with the dash lights flashing. i've taken it in to get "fixed" only to have the exact same thing happen again. now service is telling me that they don't see any programming issue. it's startling as it continuously happens in the parking lot, going about 5 mpf, of my work which is on a decline downward into the lot. more concerning and scary is the fact that this happened going 65 mph on the highway. the weather conditions were fine and there was absolutely no reason for the braking.

In parking garage the emergency stop engages every floor while going up the ramp and also finding a parking space. speed will be 15mph or lower and will cause the breaks to slam potentially causing a wreck everyday i work in the area due to all the cars being so close together.

While driving approx 25 mph the vehicle front collision indicator engaged and vehicle behind slowing down. the road was clear with no obstructions. has happened approximately four times since purchase in dec 2018

On 4 different occasions, the automatic braking has engaged for no reason while i have been driving. luckily each one of the times i was not driving freeway speeds. also, countless times i get an error message saying that something is obstructing the sensor, but there are no obstructions. this has got me worried and dont feel safe.

I was driving down a highway going 60 mph, no cars around me, when the aeb sensor started to go off and then braked harshly with a screeching noise. this is the first time the brakes were engaged, second time the warning sensor went off in less than 3 months.

The automatic emergency braking system is engaging when there is not even other cars in front of my moving vehicle. i have taken the vehicle in twice for the same issue in less than 30 days. the first time it was taken in on 5/23/19. they said that a code c1a16-54 popped up stating the radar sensor needed to be realigned. asked whether the vehicle was now safe to drive. service personal said that it should be okay. i asked what would happen if it happened again. told me to bring vehicle back and and that they would probably replace the sensor since they were having some issues with some of the sensors. driving home on 6/19/19 the aeb system engaged again with no traffic near me. took the vehicle in again on 6/21/19. after driving the car and checking for any codes, the service person stated that there was nothing wrong with the aeb and it was working properly. the car is a safety issue. i'm not comfortable driving the car as i never know when it will engage again and if anyone is following me that might not be able to stop in time.

While driving; a bug or some small object?? hitting the anti collision sensor will activate the brakes without warning usually when driving over 30 mph this has happened at least a dozen times at no set pattern

Braking system did not function causing vehicle to rear end car in front of me when i was in heavy afternoon traffic entering i-565 from a downward ramp from overpass over i-565. minimum damage to toyota highlander hit from rear. significant damage to front end of rogue. undriveable. towed to body shop!

I recently saw a complaint regarding "unintended braking due to the automatic emergency braking (aeb) system engaging with no apparent obstruction in the path of the vehicle." i believe this exact thing happened to me going approx 50-60mph on the highway with no other vehicles in my path. scared the crap out of me but it only lasted for a few seconds and has not happened again (yet). date of occurrence is approximate.

Distance sensor malfunctioning. i have had to return it to the dealership three times for this issue. without warning the car will slam on the brakes as if something was in its path.
