Vehicle will not accelerate car hesitates and then will move but very sluggishly . feels like it is not shifting gears. light has illuminated suspect transmission concern. problem seems to be off and on not a steady problem. it is the third time that i have had to bring the car in for the same problem
I bought this vehicle with 73 miles on it, it now has 10,700. my main complaint is regarding the hybrid/gas transition when driving. my secondary complaint is how the vehicle drives while in reverse. the first complaint, i think, makes this vehicle unsafe in a lot of driving situations. for example, to leave my neighborhood i have to make a left turn onto a road with a blind corner. when i am ready to go, i put my foot on the accelerator and sometimes the vehicle reacts as i expect and makes the turn no problem. however, about 75% of the time, i hit the gas and the car idles forward into the opposing lane and about 1-1.5 seconds later the engine catches up and accelerates as expected. i've come close to being tboned in just this intersection at least 4 times because of that delay. additionally, while driving in stop and go traffic the car will occasionally leap ahead no matter if i'm pressing the gas or the brake. the interface between gas and hybrid on this vehicle is horrible, and not like the one i test drove before this one was delivered. i feel this vehicle is so unsafe that i don't let my 16 year old drive it because the driver always has to be on their toes for these issues. i've taken the vehicle to advantage nissan in bremerton, wa twice over these issues and they tell me it's operating within normal range and this is normal. normal or not, its unsafe. i can provide many more examples of this behavior from the vehicle, just contact me! the secondary issue has to do with how the vehicle acts while in reverse. i don't know how to describe it exactly, but when reversing at any speed the ride is very jerky, like a person reversing in a manual transmission that doesn't have the hang of the clutch yet. it's worse when backing down my steep driveway, possibly due to the hill assist feature! please feel free to reach out for additional information.

Since purchasing the named vehicle in september 2017 brand new it has been in the shop for repairs a total of 8 times and is now sitting at the dealership because i refuse to get back into the vehicle. the car has been in the shop on several occasions concerning the brakes. severe amounts or brake dust, brakes squealing and grinding. rough idle, vibration and veering to the right. duplicated and found cause engine mounts misaligned and vacuum hose was rattling. also had to adjust the base idle. brake dust again. cup holder disassembled from the armrest. collision sensor warning light malfunction came on without justifiable cause. manufacturer defect with the front grill (warped) duplicated. the entire grill was replaced. chirping in the window. duplicated and the surface area was cleaned which occurred again. detected it was the seatbelt harness. the car had a popping noise when turning and in reverse. duplicated coming from the mount. installed new coil, mount boot, and dampener. several issues have occurred and there's more. this vehicle is not safe neither reliable. each of the issues occurred while driving on the street, highway and while turning. i have over 30 pages of service orders. too many to upload. i will upload a few important to show proof.
2017-nissan rogue sport; driving on hwy 41, the rogue loses power/power failure and almost comes to a complete stop. the rogue then comes back up and continues up hwy 41. the rear stop lights did not come on when the power went down. i was on a 5 lane hwy and could have been hit from behind. also, would not have been able to get out of the car since i was in the middle lane. in speaking with the dealerships, this appears to be a known issue. i took it to autonation nissan they kept it for two days. when i picked the rogue up from their call, it did not and has not driven the same; i explained this to the tech. when he test drove it with us, he gunned it going up a hill, the engine just raced, the car did nothing. he immediately turned to a downhill rd and took the car back tot the dealership. this is a major safety issue which i've been through this before with nissan. everyone at the dealerships wants to say and talk about electrical issues, first thing the check. i spoke with a person at the dealership that advised they do what nissan tells them to do. so it appears the safety issue continues, nissan has the reset the computer to new settings and the problems and safety issue in our opinion is never addressed. i now have a 2017 rogue sport with safety issues and sounds like an old car on its last leg after the dealership is done with it. its time nissan steps up to the plate and fixes the problem.
The factory spare tire was installed as reult of a flat lf tire. upon driving to the car dealership on dry highway, to repair flat, the cars awd lock initiated by itself at 50 mph causing the drive system to overheat within a couple minutes. steering felt like all wheel drive was active along with a light growling noise. dash alarms came on indicating 'high temperature, stop vehicle'. i stopped, awd lock indicator goes off along with high temperature alarm. resumed driving to dealership and 1minute later the problem repated exactly the same again. resumed driving again, problem repeats two more times resulting in 4 total stops on the interstate highway before an exit. nissan dealer analysis states that when reaching 50 mph with spare tire in use will happen and is not defined as a valid defect or problem. i believe this creates safety hazards from stopping, change in steering handling and potential of major components failure possibly fire of overheating. *dsy
I heard a very slight noise but no one else could hear it. after about 5 months i took the car to the dealer and he couldn't hear it. 3 more months went by and i insisted that i wanted to test drive it again with a young person who could hear well. the noise was confirmed. i have a bent axle, bent strut and worn bearings
When driving between 25-40 mike per hour the vehicle sounds loud as if the transmission was stuck in third gear. this is when driving on the street or highway once you pass 45 miles i catches gear and stops.
