We have classified the 2 complaints from 2016 Nissan Rogue about STRUCTURE into the following categories.
The back trunk when opening has a horrible screeching noise and is not smooth opening. just bought this as a used car so i'm sure not if i missed a prior recall. also the steering when i turn the wheel at a slow speed makes a low groaning noise
Driving the vehicle, the hood of the nissan rogue is latched but the actual hood will move (flap) when driving over 45-50 mph. this started the same day the vehicle was purchased but was not able to get it in because of wait time at the location. i have went to the place where the car was purchased at carmax, but they said it was a problem that nissan informed them about and there was nothing that can be done. nissan told them that there were many other vehicles that have the same defect because of the way the car was made and the only solution was to tighten the hood to a certain extent according to carmax. after leaving the location and 3 days later the hood of my car is flapping and moving even more than before, i feel like this will evetually lead to another problem because you can actually see the hood moving while driving and the person at the carmax location was aware of how much it was moving during a test drive. i have tried to look up information about the vehicle because i was told it was an ongoing problem, but as of now i have not found anything related to the problem i am having. i do not believe it is safe to drive the vehicle in that state because it could get worse and eventually because of the speed of the highway i drive on (70mph us 1 nc) it could possible affect the latch or something else.

Since i purchased my car new in 2016, i would notice while driving our city roads that my hood would shake like it wasn't secure. i had my husband check it to make sure it was secure and it was. on july 5th, 2018 we traveled from tucson, az to ely, nevada. i was scared to death every time a oncoming vehicle would pass us because it looked as if my hood was going to rip right off. several people have noticed this and were scared. i have since parked my car and am waiting to get it into the dealership, but as with everything else they will tell me unless there is a problem reported there is nothing they can do.

When driving the posted speed limits on expressway the hood flutters up and down. it looks like it is not securely latched on. i pulled over multiple times to check if hood was securely latched and it 'was definitely loose. i took into nissan for servicing and they said it was in the specified parameter- they told me to call their customer care line to see if something could be done. i drove below the posted limit for fear that the hood would fly back and hit the windscreen. the hood seems fllimisily manufactured and could be of sturdier quality.

Last year i was rearended while waiting to make a left hand turn and my airbag didn't deploy. the impact of the accident was hard enough that my l-5 vertebrae was broken and displaced a centimeter away from severing my spinal cord. it didn't occur to me until my deposition and the lawyers were asking me why the airbag didn't deploy that there could be a problem. i was sitting stationary on hwy 80 e in statesboro georgia waiting to make a left turn into babcock and more home furnishings when i was struck from behind. there is no turn lane it's a 4 lane highway and i was in the left lane with my turn signal in.
On 2/7/16, i was pulling into my parking space at work. my foot was on the brake as i was coming to a stop in my space. all of a sudden, the engine revved loudly, and the car lunged forward, jumped the curb and slammed into the office building!!!! i had no control even though my foot was pushing on the brake as hard as i could. my 5 year old daughter was in the car with me, and to think of what could have happened petrifies me. this malfunction has to be investigated and resolved. the diagnostics and repairs estimates are happening now, so the reports are still being formulated, and i can add them to this report once they are completed. i have contacted nissan usa headquarters and they are supposed to be sending a regional coordinator to inspect the vehicle. i have uploaded pictures of the damage and the scene.
Everything in the vehicle shakes violently. the seats and the hood most noticeably shake. i've stopped before to check that it was latched out of fear of the hood opening while i'm driving. the shaking is not as bad when the tires are rotated but it eventually returns within a few weeks. it has done this since i purchased it. the car has approximately 23,000 miles on it.
