Rear hatch door wont close/lock

4 passengers in our awd rouge (2015), with a panoramic sunroof, were driving on 1-85 from las vegas, nv back to salt lake city, ut on 12/08/2019, in the county of beaver about 30 miles from fillmore, ut, at about 75 mph (80 mph interstate speed zone), when all of the sudden, we hear a loud crashing sound. there were no vehicles around us on the road, so we were all extremely terrified. the car had become very loud at that point, and we immediately pulled over to side of the road. we found that the panoramic sunroof had combusted, literally spontaneously. it was completely wrecked and for no reason at all. we took it to a small service station as soon as we could, but we were in the middle of small towns when this happened. all they were able to do was allow us to vacuum up the glass. a few of us had cuts on our bodies, so we bandaged those up while there as well. we called insurance, there were no other cars involved fortunately, as there were no other vehicles closely around us when it exploded. the insurance company said we would have to pay a $1,000 deductible for the incident to be repaired. obviously, this was concerning because this was nothing of our doing. this was simply because of the poor design of the sunroof, and has happened to others as well. nissan should pay for the damage, and in fact, should re-call all vehicles with sunroofs to install a better designed sunroof with appropriate glass. had we had our soft top inside open, there is no telling what would or could have happened as we were driving at an interstate speed. after reviewing the other stories of this happening, this needs to be rectified immediately for the safety of drivers with sunroofs with this design before something fatal happens. i will be joining the class-action lawsuit already open on this exact scenario that has happened to several other people.

While driving on i94 in wisconsin my sunroof exploded. i wasn't behind any trucks and i didn't go under any bridge. i heard i huge bang and when i looked up my sunroof was in millions of tiny bits. when i pressed on it, cause i didn't know what happened, the glass came falling down on me and all over my car.

Tailgate corrosion when vehicle was parked in a covered garage. automatic rear hatch no longer operates/works.

No incident yet but the front hood is beginning to corrode and the corrosion is creeping up on the underside of the hood. we have contacted nissan without success. there has been no resolution.

The passenger door doesn't latch properly. whenever someone leans on the door, it causes the warning lights and the interior lights to turn on.this happens whether or not the car is in motion. it's terrifying.

It is a known issue that has been recalled on other models but not mine apparently. the hood latch issue, my hood shakes uncontrollably while driving over 65 miles an hour. you can visibly see the hood shaking it is loud and it is very scary thinking the hood might blow off the car

My roof rack on my 2015 nissan rogue is falling apart. went to a forum and found a lot of complaints. it is only three years old this should not be happening.

I bought this 2015 nissan rogue sl brand new, with the plastic still on it. since i've owned it i have had nothing except problems with the drivers seat. namely the frame of the seat has been replaced 2 times. the plastic covering on the side of the seat with the power seat controls has been replaced 3 times. the latest this past week. then the chrome molding on top of the drivers door keeps coming off and has been replaced 3 times. then back to the seat issue. i might add that the plastic part of at the botton of the passenger seat on the side is now needing replaced. as far as the drivers seat goes, when accelerating or stopping, it clicks. so i expect that the frame will need to be replaced again soon. the only problem with this is that the dealership where the car was bought is getting tired of fixing this stuff. they have told me that they are not sure how many more times nissan will warranty this stuff out. we shall see. with all my issues, i am not so sure i want to keep this rogue sl for the duration of the loan. let alone purchase another nissan vehicle.

Bumpers are not secure. they use a plastic shielding that do not properly protect against bad accidents. most vehicles barely have protective bumpers, putting people's lives at risk. every year, new models bring less front and rear accident impact protection. it is a good deal for manufacturers and insurance companies, but not for customers. on january 2017, i suffered an accident where my front "bumper" needed to be fixed, but my dealership charged me for about $5,500.00to replace a "protective plastic shielding" and the compressor. now mi insurance companies are charging me a lot to renew my policies. *tt *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 nissan rogue. while driving various speeds, the instrument panel displayed that the front driver side door was unlocked. the contact stated that it was cold outside and the warning indicator illuminated continuously. the vehicle was taken to rockaway nissan (600 burnside ave, inwood, ny 11096) where it was diagnosed that the failure occurred due to a dent on the driver's door. the contact stated that there was no visible dent or impact to the door to cause the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 79,115.

I was driving south on military trail preparing to turn right at pipers glen. the light was green and there was a white car in the middle lane waiting to enter military. i slowed down to make my turn and suddenly my car accelerated. if i continued to turn there was no doubt i would have hit the waiting car. i proceeded straight, passed this car and drove onto a grassy area. my front wheel hit the curb which slowed my car but pushed me along the side of the white car causing damage to both cars. the fire trucks came and a police car. since no one was hurt i was instructed to leave my car there to be towed . my son picked me up and i called the towing co. about 1 hour later i was called and told the tow was on the way. when we arrived to where my car was i was surprised to see the front lights on. there was a motor noise and the hood was hot . whenwe left the car there it was locked and the motor was not on. if this were not the case i would not have been able to lock this car having a keyless entry. i am concerned about ever driving this car with less than 10,000 miles. i called both nissan and the repair company and reported what happened. they told me they would scan the car but sometimes nothing shows up. i use military trail almost every day and pipers glen leads to my home. i am happy that no one was hurt but haunted by realizing what may have happened if i attemped to make that right turn.both these roads are city streets.i have no picturesexcept for my memory.

During rain or driving through car wash water enters the interior of vehicle through drivers side window, passenger window or back hatch. *tr

Vehicle side window glass rattles and shakes when windows are partially open. they are not secured properly into door frame. could lead to window breaking or exploding at speed, causing heavy distraction and potential accident. rattle varies between windows (in my vehicle, drivers window is worst), so it looks like a variance in production of vehicle. the higher the speed, the more the window shakes.

Driving a normal four lane road about 25 mph after stopping at a red light. a/c on. windows closed. sun roof exploded up and out like the cab had to much pressure, almost like a balloon. nothing hit it from outside or inside. temp. outside was 85c. *tr

My nissan rogue has a vibration issue that is noticeable when the car is resting at a red light, and while driving. you can see the passenger chair vibrating and the dashbard is noticeable when my gps unit is mounted onto it. i took it to bayridge nissan inc, in brooklyn, ny -this is the dealer that i purchased rogue from , don't know if this problem is a safety defect . dealership says no fix for it.
