Recently reported VISIBILITY/WIPER problems on 2015 Nissan Rogue

I noticed recently that my vehicle's heater is not working properly, when i turn on the defogger/ heater, the passenger side works fine, but the driver's side only blows cold air, which, when living in the north east is a problem on cold days as the window will fog up while driving. also, this causes me (the driver) to have to resort to wearing a scarf and gloves while driving as it's my side that is freezing. i've done some research and notice that this is a common problem with the nissan rogue, and that any attempts to re mediate the problem is only temporary and has been known to happen again. this winter (2019-2020) has been extra cold so i only noticed this now when trying to warm up the car.

During a severe thunderstorm, i tried using the rear windshield wiper only to find out it was installed incorrectly and wipes backwards (downward towards my license plate).

My car windshield no longer defrosts making visibility very poor. heat does not work at all. had the problem initially when the car was purchased but i thought the poor heat was due to a more environmentally friendly heating system. heat has continued to get worse with every year of ownership and has not stopped working entirely. dealer says the heater box is defect and does not allow air over heater core.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 nissan rogue. the contact stated that the defroster was inoperable and cold air came out of the vents when the heat was activated. the vehicle was taken to boch nissan south (685 s washington st, north attleborough, ma 02760, (508) 466-4542) where the contact was informed that the heat box assembly needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was 58,479.

Air conditioning gets warm when set to cool. causes problems with the defroster if trying to defrost windows from the hot air inside the car which affects visibility. i have read hundreds and hundreds of complaints from others about the exact same problem. nissan corporate acknowledges the issue, but does not give a resolution, nor will put our a recall. besides the inconvenience of not having cool air in 100+ degree weather, it makes it worse when you can't get the windows to unfog for clear visibility. this has happened when driving on highway, local roads, and also when stationary at traffic lights, and while in my driveway trying to leave the house. very sporadic, but happens almost daily, specifically more in the hotter seasons.

During a cold season, there was fog and ice on the windshield and i turned on the defroster to clear it. the heating function of the defroster failed, and i could not clear the windshield or keep it clear as i drove.

I was driving to work on interstate 20, and all of a sudden i heard a loud sound like a gunshot, and i hear glass shattering. as i immediately pressed on my brakes to slow down, i noticed vehicles behind me slowing down due to glass flying in their direction. my heart was racing and i was so scared and uncertain of what really occurred. i immediately felt cold air in my vehicle as if i had downed a window. i pulled over and called my insurance company.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 nissan rogue. while driving 20 mph, the windshield wiper fluid pressure failed to dispense completely. the contact stated that the visibility was very poor and had to pull over to the side of the road to wipe off the front windshield in order to see. the vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 42,000. ..updated 03/22/16 *bf consumer stated windshield washer fluid pressure is not adequate to wash the windshield. updated 05/30/18*jb

2015 nissan rogue has glare/reflection from interior dash & vent plate covers reflecting in side mirrors & windows causing poor visibility. interior is dark grey with shiny chrome fixtures which reflects in side mirrors causing distraction, hazardous safety issue. daytime can see reflection of driver in window. nighttime the dash panel with it's lights glare outside driver window blocking side mirror view of traffic visibility. situation is annoying & a safety concern. nissan dealership refuses to help correct this problem. this is a new vehicle (purchased on 9/16/15) & nissan should be responsible for driver safety.

1)when use defrost system window stays moist and does not clear until 30-60 mins causing it very difficult to see. 2)front driver's seat and passenger's seat is too close to console and scrubs against center console when moving seat back and forth. 3)vehicle smells of anti-freeze when enters vehicle. also for auto to be a 4-cylinder it burns gas quickly. because the center gear does not lock, it's too easy to mistakenly knock gear out of mode while driving i.e. goes from drive to low or neutral without effort. also just got an oil change at 10,000 miles, car has about 11,000 miles and computer alerting me that need oil change. i will be bringing vehicle to nissan of garden city service dept on wed 8/26/15 and will request a complete thorough diagnostic of vehicle and will be prepared to leave vehicle until every thing is corrected in exchange for a loaner vehicle.
