We have classified the 101 complaints from 2010 Nissan Rogue about POWER TRAIN into the following categories.
While driving on the interstate at 75 mph on a hot day 90 degrees. i was using max a/c. car was fine and suddenly felt sluggish and wouldn't accelerate. i pulled off at next available exit, after a complete stop the car refused to move then suddenly accelerated slowly similar to when an abrupt brake is applies and car moves very slowly (extremely dangerous condition all the rouges have) i shut off the a/c and let car rest for 5 minutes then got back on the highway, although feeling sluggish i arrived at my destination. on my ride home several hours later i did not use a/c and outside temps had dropped to mid 70, the car appeared fine. i will note that this problem also occurred 2 years earlier in the summer of 2013 at 87,000 miles during another long highway trip driving in high temps. in this case i cancelled trip and brought car to the dealer after cool down period, the problem didn't present itself, no dash lights or codes same as previous. the dealer charged me $1800.00 to change dirty transmission fluid. problem is back again at 112,000 miles. there is a serious problem with these cars that is "dangerous". had i needed to come to an abrupt stop on the highway i would not be able to move out of the way and as a separate issue when you abruptly brake the car can't get out of it's own way and has scared me several times.
The first time the incident happened i was exiting the expressway and after stopping at a red light the car started to make a weird noise. when trying to accelerate through the green light the car would not move for 15 seconds. i even tried slamming the gas pedal down. after that i would always hear a whining noise when driving on the expressway or a prolonged amount of time. when driving out of state to tennessee the car started to decrease in speed on a hill and i was almost hit by a cop. pulling over at a gas i let the car sit for 30 mins. i tried to renter the expressway and the car still would not move. after a while i was able to get back on the expressway. once in tennessee the car barely made it up the hills i had to time it just right. on the way back to ga the car began the issues again and while trying to pull off the car decreased in speed so quickly i was almost hit by a semi-truck. i have taken the car in for the electrical recall that did not help. the car has had two complete tune ups nor has not worked. i refuse to pay out of my pocket for another transmission; which has not aided others in this same situation. i have been dealing with this for a year. everyday it's a guessing game if the car will ever get me to and from work safely.
I bought this 2010 nissan rougue 5 months back from carmax, lexington, ky. i travel frequently from lexington, ky to cary, nc and new york, ny every quarter. i used my son car camry and rental cars( chevvy, ford, toyota and nissan ultima), but never faced this problem. the problem is when once on highway i set the vehicle in cruise control for 72 mph, suddenly when the highway elevation starts to go up, the cruise control is dropped and the vehicle starts speed starts to slide up to 30...the elast it dropped is 29 mph, evwn while you are pressing accelerator ( infact it is floored ). then i stopped using cruise control, but for every elevation the problem persists, thias continues till i stopped getting high altitudes. around lexington, ky where ever i go i hit mountains, so i started facing this problem, when ever i hit us 64 e, us 77n or s and us 75 n or s........yesterday my self, my wife and my daughter are coming home from new york to lexington, the problem started once it hits mountains and continues till weschester, ky whivh is 20 miles from lexington, ky. the drive of 12 hours, took absolutely 22 hrs with break for every 3 hrs ( break of 20 to 25 mts), other than breaks just imagine on highway the vehicle starts to drop the speed and what happens with vehicles behind you, even highly loaded trucks crossed us and drove comfortably.......it is a serious dangerous problem with nissan rougue...to be rectified or fixing the problem. the same routes i drove in different vehicle as mentioned above even nissan utima as rental car, no issues, but for this vehicle. then online i found that mine is not the first or last vehicle, there are more nissan rogues like this. we need justice from the nissan usa.
I was on a road trip about 2 hours or so into a 7 hour drive and my vehicle would not accelerate up inclines. absolutely no power!! the gas pedal was completely depressed to the floor. i went from 75mph to 45mph and was almost hit from the rear. this also happened on the return trip, but this time i knew enough to get in the slow lane when i approached an incline. once i was on straight, flat parts of the interstate it took a little while before i was able to get back up to speed. i stopped for gas and tried to back up on a slight incline and i could shift into reverse but the vehicle would not move. a short time into the rest of the trip home my service engine soon light came on. very dangerous. i do not feel safe at all in this vehicle.
I was driving 80 mph with traffic on a heavily congested hwy - i-4 when the transmission stopped working. there had been a high pitched whine during the last hour of travel and the car just started decelerating. air temperature outside was approx. 80 degrees. there was a smell possibly of leaking fluid. took to dealer and there is a known transmission problem on nissan vehicles with the cvt transmission causing them to overheat, etc. this should be a recall, not an extended warranty issue. this vehicle is 4 years old and should not have transmission failures. i was stuck on a highway in the middle of nowhere and it took 2 hours to get to a dealer which was one and a half hours away from home. *tr
2010 nissan rogue. consumer writes in regards to the wiring harness connector recall notice, driver seat slides back, engine service light and other vehicle issues. *smd the consumer had difficulty getting the gear shift out of park and the vehicle had a jerking effect while driving. the consumer referenced recall # 15v032000. *jb
Driving at interstate highway speeds, the vehicle would immediately loose power. speed would drop from 70 mph to 45-50 mph very quickly. it seemed like within 100-200 yards. this occurred on flat ground after driving several hours or sooner when going through hilly terrain, such as the appalachian mountains. once the event occurred, it would reoccur. for example it would slow quickly going up a hill, then going down the hill you could get back up to speed. once you started up the next hill, you would loose speed very quickly again. on flat ground after the first occurrence, anytime you accelerated - such as during passing, it would loose speed. to temporarily "reset" the car, we would stop for 10-15 min. this would allow the car to be driven for about 1 hour before it would reoccur. two things happen as a result of this, one when we were passing a truck who was slowed by a hill, we partially got around the truck, then immediately lost speed. cars following us would really need to be paying attention. on flat ground you would just loose speed immediately and cars would quickly catch up. second, stopping frequently causes trips to take a lot more time. checking the internet resulted in nissan's knowledge of this problem which caused them to increase the warranty. they need to fix it. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. while driving at approximately 65 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. the failure recurred multiple times. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the cvt (continuous variable transmission) needed to be repaired. as a result, the vehicle transmission was flushed however, the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. while driving approximately 20 mph, the slip and vehicle dynamic control off warning indicators illuminated. when the contact depressed the accelerator pedal, the rpm increased but the vehicle failed to accelerate over 20 mph. the failure occurred on multiple occasions. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the brakes operated as normal and suggested using a fuel injector or cleaner to resolve the failure. a fuel injector was used, but the failure recurred. the manufacturer was notified. the approximate failure mileage was 53,000.
Vehicle was traveling 70 on the interstate on cruise control when the speed suddenly dropped 20 - 30 mph and the engine started racing forcing us to pull the vehicle off the road. the vehicle idled properly then drove properly the remainder of the trip. this scenario has happened several more times, all but one while on cruise control. i took the vehicle to the service department at a nissan dealership. mechanic diagnosed the problem as the issue in nissan service bulletin ntb14-002a:::---- 2008-2012 nissan rogue; reduced performance due to cvt fluid temperature protection logic the maximum vehicle speed is, or was, reduced by the cvt fail-safe logic after continuous operation under the following conditions: 1)high rpm and/or high speed driving (rpm of 4000+ or speeds of 65 mph [104.6 km/h] for 1.0 ? 1.5 hrs. or more) 2)driving in ambient temperature of 96 degrees or higher 3)climbing steep or extended hills for 6 miles (9.6 km) or more 4)whine or rattle type noise occurring during reduced engine performance (vehicle speed decrease) ---- nissan has a known and intentional issue in the transmission system while operating under some very normal conditions. nissanusa consumer affairs initially told me that the warranty had been extended for this vehicle and the problem would be covered. they have since indicated that the repair for this issue (adding an external cooling mechanism to the transmission) is not covered by the extended the warranty... looking for some sanity here. nissan needs to fix the transmission (design?) problem under their extended warranty....updated 09/11/15 *bf
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. the contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate without warning. the failure occurred on several occasions. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 56,000.
After driving for several hours at highway speed the car loses power going up slight hills. the speed drops from 70 mph to 40 mph with the gas pedal fully depressed. when i exited the highway to pay the toll the car wouldn't accelerate after going through the toll both. after a few seconds the car lurched forward and started to get up to speed . at the next hill it lost power again going up the hill. this car is being driven in connecticut so it's not being driven over mountainous terrain. *tr
The details of this complaint are filed under nhtsa complaint #10614462. on 7/16/2014 the ujoint on my 2010 nissan rogue sheared off the driveshaft dropping the driveshaft and pulling out the shifter cable. repairs were $1400. after several attempts to contact nissan i was told that since i did not service my vehicle at a nissan dealership they would not offer any good will assistance. they stated that all recommended service would have had to have been performed at the dealership in order for any out of warranty assistance. *tr
I was at the speed of 65 mph and when climbing hill the speed drops down to 40 mph. *js
I stopped the vehicle with the shift lever in drive. when i tried to shift into reverse to back up i could get no farther than neutral. the release button on the shift lever would not move. i could not get into reverse or park. i managed to get the cover on the right side of the shift lever off and a broken piece of gray plastic fell out. the shift lever release button then worked and i was able to shift into reverse and into park. i have driven the vehicle several times with no more problems. not being able to get into reverse in a timely manner could cause a serious situation to develop. i saved the broken piece of plastic that jammed the release lever. *js
First off, there was not an accident...but there surely would be if this car were to be driven in its present state. essentially, catastrophic failure of the cvt (transmission), so that, when sitting at a stop light, stepping on the accelerator would result in increase in rpm but no forward motion at first. it might eventually engage, but operation is totally unpredictable. even though this is a well known issue and nissan did double the warranty they failed to notify owners claiming that because it wasn't a recall, it was not required. vehicle is currently 10,000 miles outside the *new* warranty mileage limit, but had owner been notified about this impending failure, repairs could have been effected inside the warranty period. nissan has declined to offer any assistance whatsoever, but does hope that we have "a nice day". will it take loss of life or limb for nissan to "do the right thing"? *tr
Driving at highway speed, the vehicle would refuse to accelerate to pass a vehicle. happened multiple times on a 1 hour road trip, causing near fatality as car would not accelerate up a hill and when in the course of passing a disabledvehicle, the car would not speed up enough to keep up with traffic speed in adjacent lane, causing driver behind vehicle to slam on brakes to avoid collision. the vehicle refused to accelerate the remainder of the trip (1 hour more) and engine light illuminated. *tr
I was driving on the highway when the vehicle started slowing down. when i pushed down on the gas pedal, the rpm's revved into the red and the vehicle made a loud whining sound and continued to slow down. i pulled over and turned the car off and back on. tried to accelerate by pressing the gas pedal to the floor and the vehicle barely coasted. stopped and turned vehicle off. after about 30 minutes, i turned the car back on and it ran fine. this is the first time this has happened while moving. in the past 6 months there have been at least 8 instances where while i was stopped at a stop light or waiting to turn left, i would push down on the accelerator to go and the car would barely start to coast with the pedal to the floor. then after a few seconds, the vehicle would suddenly accelerate. i'm afraid that i'm going to be t-boned while turning because i don't know if when i press down on the gas pedal if i'll go or coast into oncoming traffic. *tr
Is nissan the next toyota?? we were pulling out of a shopping center and the vehicle failed to properly accelerate. the gas pedal was pushed to the floor, acceleration was at minimum and the rpms revved up extremely high. thank goodness no one hit us. finally, the gear caught and all was well. it seemed like the transmission may have slipped. then we got to my parents' home and parked. then we went to move out of park and the gears wouldn't change (automatic cvt transmission). we had the vehicle towed to the nearest certified nissan repair facility. in the meanwhile, i located information on nissan's website regarding the warranty on the transmission and found that nissan extended the warranty from 5 years/60,000 miles to 10 years/120,000 miles for 'customer satisfaction' purposes and here is the information about that http://www.nissanassist.com/web/cvt/programdetails.php?menu=9 and the vehicles that are included in the issue are located here http://www.nissanassist.com/web/cvt/vehicles.php?menu=11 so the dealership calls us on june 23 to advise they could not replicate the issue with the transmission and the problem with getting the vehicle out of park was an electronic issue. i am not a mechanic but it does seem strange that we would have experienced the first issue, then the vehicle wouldn't come out of park? i spoke with regional specialists at nissan north america and was told that if the mechanics cannot replicate, then no repair will be authorized under the warranty and that the likely cause of my issue was dirty transmission fluid. i feel this is a huge safety issue because if you pull out into traffic, expecting your vehicle to go and it doesn't, someone is eventually going to get seriously injured! *tr
my daughter and i were returning home driving on interstate hwy when car suddenly and unexpectedly loss acceleration in heavy traffic on interstate, going from 75-80 mph to 50-60 mph within a minute causing braking and swerving of cars behind us because we were in left lane and could not get over. seemed to occur on upward incline of road. took car to nissan dealership because warranty is still in effect, and was told that their diagnoses showed no problem with the transmission. service manager told me he knew of some problems with transmissions, but could not make repairs unless corporate nissan reimbursed them. i was basically told to drive the car until it "broke' and then they could fix it. i am afraid to drive car on interstate now- fear deadly crash. *tr
Tl * the contact owns a 2010 nissan rouge. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would decelerate sporadically and without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealer. the technician diagnosed that the continuous variable transmission (cvt) had overheated causing the transmission to burn up. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 76,000.
While driving my 2010 nissan rogue s trying to enter a main highway, the car suddenly lost all power and no matter how much gas was given the car would not accelerate. after safely making it off the highway at the next exit and pulling over, the car would still not go over 5 mph and had no reverse. this is a major issue that could have caused a major accident which could of injured or killed both my passengers and i and any other motorist approaching me at highway speeds as i was attempting to enter the roadway. *js
Every time i come to a complete stop, or go onto a freeway, my car cannot accelerate at the proper speed when pushing down on the peddle. there is about a 5-10 second delay to get it to the correct speed. i've been honked at and i've been almost hit because of this. i have a 3 year old daughter and i'm scared that one of these days i'll get into an accident because of it. i feel unsafe and in danger because of this car. it's unfortunate because i always thought highly of nissan.
I was with my 2 small kids at a drive through. i stepped on the gas with the pedal all the way down to the floor and the car would not go/ move until after about 3secs. this was so scary it could have caused someone to hit the back of my car. after the three secs the car gets going fast then maintains normal speed. i drove it again today thinking it could be the gas i had put it so i ran the gas out to almost empty and put in new gas. again the same problem. will take it to the shop if not resolved a class action suit will be the next step. my kids life and mine are at stake her. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. while driving at highway speeds, the vehicle suddenly failed to accelerate past 65 mph and the rpms would not increase past 3,000. the failure was intermittent and occurred after driving for more than one hour. the contact also indicated that the failure was more severe while driving up an incline. in addition, the service engine light recently illuminated. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to diagnose the cause of the failures. the manufacturer was notified. the failure mileage was 75,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. the contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift from park to any other gear. the failure was not diagnosed nor repaired. the manufacturer was not contacted about the failure. the failure and current mileage was approximately 62,000. updated 3/14/14*cn
While driving at highway speeds the vehicle suddenly lost power. the first 4-5 times this happened the power loss was from 75 to 55-60 or so mph and if the vehicle was shut off and restarted it reset. the last time it would go around 70 downhill but only 20-30 uphill and it would not reset upon restart. after about 30 minutes it finally reset. *tr
The car suddenly lost power while driving on highway route 46 in little falls, nj during rush hour traffic. luckily the it happened while in the right lane so my wife was able to get off the road quickly but had no forward power. the car was towed to acme nissan in south brunswick, nj where it was diagnosed with a failed transfer case and transmission. my wife's commute is rather far at 80+ miles round trip a day but it is almost all on highways. for a car to have a complete failure of the transmission at speed on a crowded highway wat this age/mileage out of the blue is completely unsafe.
While driving our nissan rogue on the highway the vehicle begins to decelerate even with the accelerator fully engaged. our vehicle has gone from 70mph to 10mph on the highway several times. there is clearly a problem with the transmission. the nissan dealership keeps telling us we need to do a full transmission fluid flush on the vehicle every year. we paid to have this done in august of 2013 when it first started happening and it still continues to happen. we are scared to drive the vehicle as it seems very dangerous to go from highway speeds to barely being able to roll into a parking long within a matter of minutes. *tr
My 2010 nissan rogue stopped accelerating properly on a highway. i could not properly merge into traffic. very scary!!! i made it home and thought it was a fluke. it then began stalling periodically, and the acceleration issue continued. we needed a new transmission at 78k! flags forward 46k more miles on replaced transmission,...the problem reappeared and was worse! nissan won't replace this one and was very rude, unprofessional and won't semi the problem and serious safety issue. this was my third nissan, but my other two were muranos and never had an issue. my experience here was so scary and so disappointing with nissans dismissal of this serious issue that we will never buy another and will tell all our friends and family too. you should not buy from nissan as they do not stand behind their products!
Driving on highway and heard a grinding noise on the car. i also noticed car would not drive at optimal speed when gas pedal pressed to keep up with traffic. it felt sluggish and as it was losing power. i turned off the air conditioning system and the car started condensating through the events. none of my previous car have done that before. after about an hour drive the cars hood was extremely hot you could barely touch it. i felt scared for my family as this car does not feel safe at all. dealer is not taking it back and i've now had this troubled car 20 days but they won't admit it's defective. they said they can change the transmission but only because its under warranty. nissan needs to recall all cvt cars. *tt
I was going home from work like everyday i drive 40 miles one way at highway speeds and when i left the highway i came to a traffic light so i was waiting there and when the light turned green i pushed on the gas pedal like i normally do and the car would not respond and then started going but very slow i was afraid i was gonna be stuck at that intersection, and then i let go of the gas and pushed the gas again and the car startedgoing like if it was awakening and then it was going normal again, since then that happened 2 more times but the other times were more scary because i was at stop signs and when i tried to go after a complete stop the car was going very slow again and i was lucky that i didn't get hit by oncoming traffic,i contacted the dealer but they wont do anything unless they see the code or their mechanics reproduce the problem
Very little acceleration from pulling off from a stop, will not pull off from an incline in drive, overdrive or low gear. *tr
I had been driving my rogue and my kids and i were going home. i was in a left turn lane in a busy intersection and halfway through i lost power. i barely made it out of the intersection, and after a minute the car went back to normal. it has happened twice now and the second time was worse than the first. nissan sys there's nothing wrong.. we did have the transmission flushed at their recommendation. *tr
The first incident happened last summer. while going up a hill at 75mph (speed limit in that state), the cruise control cut off, and vehicle lost power, and rpm's would not exceed 2500 rpm and would not go over 60mph, which every time i hit a hill, would decrease to 40mph. this happened 3 times in the next two hours, where rpm's would not exceed 2500 rpm, which is very dangerous when semi-trucks are behind you. a search online stated this was the transmission going into fail-safe mode, although the dealership stated no, because a code would come back. for almost a year, i would not take my car out of town for work, for fear this would happen again. decided to take it on a long road trip this august, and again, the same incident occurred. this time, the only way to get rpm's and mph's back, was to pull over and let the car sit for 20 minutes or so. it would then drive normal for anywhere from 30 min-1 hour, before loosing power again. took it into dealership upon arriving home, and this time, there is a bulletin for the transmission fluid overheating, and it needs a cooler, to the tune of $1,400 and is 2 months backordered. i was told this problem would only occur on long road trips, and i would be fine taking it on a 5 hr trip that weekend. come 3 days later, 45 minutes into the trip, the cruise control cut off, began blinking, check engine light came on, and rpm's decreased to btwn 2000-2500. pulled over to let it cool, and then it would not accelerate over 40mph on the highway. decided to turn back around, and 3 times on the way home (appx. every 15 minutes), i lost all power. the car was still running, but the rpm's would not go over 0, and the car would not move. had to let it sit for 15-20 minutes each time, and then was able to drive 15 min, before loosing all power again. took it into auto shop, and code reads, "p1778", which is "step-motor malfunction". *tr
The first incident took place on 06/03/13, the second incident on 08/24/13 and the third incident on 12/22/13. all 3 incidents were road trips where the problem appeared on the interstate after having been driving for about an hour and a half or so. the problem was that when at highway speeds of ~70-80 mph, the vehicle would no longer accelerate even when the gas pedal was pressed to the floor. the first incident happened while the cruise control was engaged but the 2nd and 3rd incidents occurred with and without cruise control engaged. on the 2nd and 3rd incidents, when we exited the highway and came to a traffic light we also experienced an acceleration issue when starting from a stopped position. in these instances, i pushed the gas pedal but the car did not move forward, for a couple of seconds, and then sputtered before finally accelerating normally. after the second incident i researched the problem, online, and saw numerous posts with other rogue owners having similar if not identical problems. i planned to take it to the dealership but, since the problem never occurred on local/in-town driving, i procrastinated. after this latest incident i took the vehicle to our dealer - autonation nissan pembroke pines - on 12/24/2013. i reported the problem to jay, our service advisor, who had a technician check out the car. he said a transmission code, <p0744>, came up in the diagnostic and they recommended replacement of the transmission. however, nissan instituted a new policy on that date which required the dealership replicate the problem before nissan would authorize the replacement. the dealer could not replicate the problem with local driving and would not allow a tech to take it on a long trip. i called nissan consumer affairs but they were no help. the end result is that i have a car that has not been repaired & that i can't drive on long trips. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. the contact stated that while driving uphill at 70 mph, the vehicle decelerated to 40 mph without warning. the vehicle was taken to a dealer and the mechanic who was unable to diagnose the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 48,000. the current mileage was 52,000. the vin was not provided.
i took it out of town on a business trip 200 miles from home..only to have it start acting up about 2hours from my destination. going up hills, my car lost power, would no longer go above 60mph(not too safe loosing power like that when the speed limit is 75mph). you could push the accelerator all the way to the floor, and the car would not accelerate anymore..and the rpm's would not exceed 2. this happened 2 times in the next 2 hours...would last about 12-20 minutes, and then, power would come back, this same thing happened 5 more times in my next to trips, i took the car to the dealer and they blamed nissan for the type of transmission use in this type of cars. this is not safe. in all the times i lost power going up-hill, and in those occasions there was someone behind me. every time had to quick swerve around me, to avoid rear-ending me at 75mph, as i lost power down to -60mph. *tr
We travel to orlando which is a 3 hour drive we go 4 times a year and the rogue fails on us at least 4 times every trip. after an hour on the highway are vehicle struggles to accelerate we go from 80 to 60 and car feels like it struggles with the pedel to the floor. also when the ac is on and we are at a light the car trys to stall. and the airbags are defective the airbag on the passenger side doesn't recognize anyone in the seat and the one on the dash just blinks. i'm afraid they won't deploy if in an accident. first and last nissian will ever buy. the loss of acceleration i think is a death waiting to happen big hazard. we have this vehicle for three years and same problem from day one
When the cvt transmission gets hot the power from engine to transmission begins to reduce. this safety feature leads to massive fuel consumption as well as complete loss of power while driving. this has caused myself to be stuck in the middle of intersections on multiple occasions. this "safety feature" didn't start doing this until 50 miles past the warranty expired. at first it would take hours of driving before this would happen and it seems like each time it happened it took less and less driving time before it would happen again. currently my rogue is around 150k miles and i can't go more than 20 miles before it happens. i took the rogue into shops for a full tune-up every30k miles trying to be sure it last for as long as possible, so i know it isn't an issue of neglect. i have researched online trying to find a solution to the problem and all i have found are thousands of other owners with the same issue. some owners have had the problem begin as early as the 10k mark. since the introduction of the cvt transmission every vehicle it is used in has this problem. nissan needs to address this problem before it causes a death from pure neglect on their part. i've owned 4 nissan vehicles and loved them all but his is the first one i had that didn't make it past 100k miles before having a major issue.
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 nissan rogue. the contact stated while that driving approximately 70 mph, the vehicle began to decelerate and the engine rpms would not exceed 3000. the accelerator pedal was abnormally depressed to the floorboard; however there was an extremely slow response. the failure occurred whenever the vehicle was in operation for over two hours. the vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the problem. the approximate failure mileage was 61,000.
When turning right, there was no acceleration as i pushed down on the gas pedal. this has happened on a regular basis and occasionally has happened heading straight in traffic. there is often a lag in acceleration when pushing down on the pedal. tough in merge situations. *tr
Vehicle would suddenly and unexpectedly lose power, especially on inclines or in hot weather. while traveling up mountain road, vehicle suddenly lost power and i was nearly rear-ended as other vehicles coming up the road rounded the corner at a higher rate of speed. while leaving the palm springs area, vehicle suddenly lost power while driving in heat exceeding 95 degrees. after exiting freeway, vehicle would not accelerate and cars exiting the freeway at higher rates of speed had to swerve to avoid my vehicle. nissan has replaced the transmission on three occasions and each time the problem has recurred. *tr
2010 rogue has repeated problems with acceleration. specifically from a stopped position. and when on a hill, if you are stopped, it won't accelerate at all, even when pushing driving pedal all the way down to the floor. on top of this, it now will not hold a cruise with cruise control on the interstate. extremely dangerous when attempting to turn left from a stopped position without a green arrow. this is apparently, according to complaints, a very common problem, and there needs to be a recall. have called dealership three times to schedule service and tell them about this major problem only to be told i would get a call back with no call-back. am showing up tomorrow with my car insisting on an answer. *tr
My car's transmission failed while driving home. i have a long commute to and from work. luckily i was able to get home at 20 miles an hour and was not hit by a tractor trailer. my commute is a long drive on congested highways. i could have been killed. i have been having issues with the vehicle for a while. i recently had some work done to the car and bought nissan parts, i bought 4 spark plugs and all 4 were broken/defective. i have had this car for 2 years and have major issues with it in that short span of time. *tr
Driving from denver to summit county up 1-70 the vehicle lost power and would not go above 3000 rpm during climbing causing rapid slowing on a very busy highway. it has now happened several times and every time since i've driven up there since may. twice i've had it in to the dealership who claimed it was due to high transmission fluid (which had not been changed since purchase). it has been lowered twice. the last time this occurred it was so bad that i pulled off at an exit for fear of safety. i turned off the vehicle and let it rest for a few minutes. started it back up and attempted to do a u-turn. with the gas pedal all the way to the floor the vehicle only inched along leaving me stranded across the road and vulnerable to a crash if another vehicle had come along. *tr

From day one i have had nothing but problems out of my rogue. it won't crank half the time and then it started stalling on the interstate. while trying to go over hills or trying to accelerate the rpms would rev up but the vehicle would lose speed. i would start out going over a hill doing 75 mph and by the time i reached the top of the hill i was doing 60 mph. the car actually stalled in the middle of a four way intersection and after being driven for 30 or so miles the vehicle would start missing on the interstate. i brought the vehicle to the dealership and the transmission was replaced. this has solved the speed control/stalling problem, but the new transmission doesn't want to shift gears. i was told this was an upgraded transmission with two gears and that it would shift different from a regular transmission. *tr
