Nissan quest 1999. gas pedal is blocking and requires revere strength to be pushed. this happens several times during the day. once the pedal is pushed hard the vehicle suddenly thrusts, causing possible damage to the engine and transmission. this also causes the vehicle to suddenly gain much speed and requires extra control by the driver. i am seeing many complaints on this website regarding the same issue (referd to as 'gas pedal sticking'). *tr
The accelerator cable on our 1999 nissan quest failed in 2001, we replaced it, and now in 2005 the cable is failing again. the accelerator pedal "sticks" and you have to push very hard to get the vechile to accelerate, creating an unsafe situation where you often have to accerate too fast upon takeoff. this could lead to a rear end collision. *ak
I have had to look into alignment probelms again and replace the brakes and the tires again. i also was told by the dealer that this was because of "normal" wearing of the cv joints and that my front axle was shot so i had to replace this too. i have had so much tire, tire valve, brake and front end trouble, it's ridiculous.*ak
