Problems with 2013 Nissan Pathfinder POWER TRAIN

On average, the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder starts to “feel” problems with the POWER TRAIN and its various aspects after 20 124 miles.

Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

I started driving up a small hill from a complete stop. it sounded like the car started shuddering, as if i was driving over a rumble strip. this happened on a number of occasions in different places but they were always around highways so i never paid attention. this time there was no highway, it was just a local street and there definitely were no rumble strips. will have to take this to the dealer. not expecting much as i see a lot of people are having the same problem. there must be a recall for this... *tr

1. when the vehicle is started putting it to reverse wont engage the transmission, need to go back to park and back to engage the drive of reverse transmission 2. during driving at 0-40 mph the transmission slips, the shifting is erratic, sometimes shifting can vibrate as if the whole vehicle was vibrating, the rpm also fluctuate during this time. 3. there was no problem until april 8th 2013, i had taken this on snow, all sorts of terrain, bought the vehicle from columbia, mo from the dealership was performing excellent prior to this. 4. only thing i did was leave the suv parked for a while (1 week) before this started in early april. 2013. *tr

Shortly after buying our pathfinder we drove up to a nearby observatory. the road is narrow, steep and has many tight turns. the speed limit on this road is 15mph, but has many sections where even this speed is too fast. when we started our decent we shifted into low to allow the engine to take some of the load. however the transmission did not downshift, it was in the equivalent of 3rd gear based off of the tachometer and we had to rely solely on the brakes to maintain speed. we were able to compensate by pulling off and stopping regularly to allow the brakes to cool. we later experimented and found that at lower speeds <35mph it will not downshift much if any when put into low, unless you press on the gas pedal. we took it to two different nissan dealerships and were able to duplicate the problem at the second one. since then the nissan customer satisfaction department told us that since the mechanics reported that it "operates as designed" that there was no problem to be fixed. *tr

Vehicle first shuttered or vibrated during deceleration coming to stop. vehicle shifts rough at low speeds and low rpms. the vehicle has 1800 miles on it now, and has now done this at least twenty times. i absolutely love everything about this vehicle, except this shifting problem. i am most concerned about it getting worse and developing into something far worse. i plan on taking it to the dealer next week. i already had to take it back the day after i bought it for a faulty windshield wiper fluid sensor. *tr

Vehicle stutters between 15 and 25 miles per hour as if there is a vibration. this affects the entire vehicle. nissan diagnosed the transmission and found nothing out of the ordinary. basically said to wait until it breaks. today the problem occurred twice in one day, however the second time it sounded as if something was slipping, like a zipper, then recovered. there is a flaw here that needs addressing and i am going to contact nissan again. *tr

I noticed the vehicle would start sputtering or shuttering like its loosing power and the transmission or engine would shake while its sputtering. i took it to dan mullins nissan here in lawton, ok and i was told that it was normal now it is doing it more often. *tr

Purchased vehicle jan 2013. vehicle shudders continuously when traveling at constant speed around 40 mph. also shudders violently and loses power when turning at low speed, approx. 5 to 10 mph. source feels to be transmission. happens every time driven.took back to dealership where purchased may 2013. technician drove it and said they couldn't feel anything wrong. took to another dealership in october. they reprogrammed the abs system because they said there was going to be voluntary recall issued soon. that had no effect on problem, still as evident as ever. now faced with third trip to shop to try to get something done. seems to be common complaint based on what i read. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that while traveling 35 mph, the vehicle suddenly stalled. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was contacted about the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 1,200.

We to have the nissan blues. we have had our nissan for a month and the transmission is jerking in it. took it to the dealership twice and they told us that it is between us and nissan. they also said that there was nothing they could do. now we are making payments on a vehicle that we are not comfortable about driving. afraid that it will stall in an intersection and someone will get hurt or killed. *tr

Transmission shudders when accelerating from a low speed of approx 25-30 mph. entire vehicle shakes like you are driving over speed bumps. occurs everyday. *tr

I have had this vehicle to the dealer three times because at slow speeds it shudders like a manual transmission when you do not downshift. there is no rhyme or reason as to when it does this. there are times when you accelerate around 50 mph that it does nothing and then decides to just take off. the dealer had it for eight days on one occasion and could not duplicate the problem - again happens at any time and not consistently. the dealer says they can't do anything about it until they can duplicate the problem with the computer on it so nissan can tell them what to do. this is absurd. they have a problem and admit it but won't tackle the problem head on. i guess they need to have a tragic accident before they are forced to do something. it's time for the government to step in and address the problem. it is my understanding that the dealer had eight transmission issues in the shop when mine was in last week. but they claim their hands are tied. nhtsa time to step in. *tr

It happened 3 times already, car started shaking and it stop all of a sudden, all transmission fluid and coolant drained out. luckily we did'n get hit from the back because the first time was when we stop on a red light and it didn't move at all we tow it to the nearest nissan dealer and they said that it was a factory defect but that was fixed. i had a bad feeling and took it to puente hills nissan where we bought the car. but they told to comeback next day so on my way home on the freeway it started again we just had seconds to pull aside from the road and the car didn't moved at all, fluids drained out again and this time the smoke was even worst i had a panic attack because i thought it was going to catch on fire so i've jumped out of the car "on the freeway" without thinking that i could get killed. the car got towed to puente hills nissan and "they fixed it". when they were testing it it happened again!! they towed the car back and now after a week they said that they already fixed the problem that it was the radiator that had too much pressure so was heating up and shooting the hoses off so they now replaced the radiator and told me to go and pick up the car. i don't feel safe driving around with my family this situation can cause an accident. nissan dealer won't replace the car even though there is the lemon law that states that after 3 repairs from the same issue the car has to be replaced and even more because it was a brand new car and we only had it for 6 weeks. and there was also 2 recalls on this particular vehicle one on the electric system and other one on the air bags so now i don't know what else is going to happen with this vehicle. *tr

Transmission (cvt) on slow acceleration will shutter/shake between 20-25 mph. also, will repeat at approx 40 mph. on 4-17-13, was told by nissan dealer that nissan was aware of problem but did not have a fix at this time. problem is worse with hot engine/transmission. i worry transmission will fail while traveling as this is our vacation vehicle. certainly a major problem as a transmission would be safety related. how long for nissan to "find" a fix???? one or two weeks or a year or more? *tr

Bought a 2013 nissan pathfinder in november. 3 months later and 2 hours away from home we started feeling a "jutter" and could no longer accelerate. leaving myself (32 weeks pregnant), my 2 year old, and 5 year old stranded on the side of the northway in 20* weather. there was smoke billowing out from under the hood. the transmission blew, a new transmission has been ordered but, it is unknown how long it will take to fix. nissan nor my local dealer are doing anything rectify the problem apparently, i should take an $8,000 loss because i don't feel safe putting my family in their faulty product that can't get us from point a to point b. *tr

Our 2013 pathfinder started to shudder upon acceleration. it initially happened prior to this mileage, but it was intermittent and we thought we had just driven over a rough patch of road. however, this issue increased in duration and frequency until the car would almost stall. you would have to stop acceleration and then resume for it to stop. it most frequently happened after making a turn...unfortunately..this is often after a stop sign when you need acceleration or getting on the freeway. the ecm has been reflashed, replaced torque converters and a couple cvt transmission in the first year. the problem still persists. it starts small and then ramps up as mileage increases. the air bag continues to go on and off while a passenger is seated. the passenger is an adult over 110lbs, but the dealership maintains nothing is wrong with it. we've driven down the freeway for 1 hour with no problem and then the light will come on which means the airbag is not functioning. we've tried different sitting positions to see if that is the cause, but it doesn't matter. it also keeps blowing fuses for the rear heated seats. *tr

June 23, 2013 - i purchased my 2013 nissan pathfinder in march. it has had the following problem since i got it. when accelerating from stopping, or when increasing speed when turning, the vehicle sputters. it sometimes vibrates and also feels like i'm going over something rough. it feels like the vehicle is going to shut completely off when it does this. this problem has been going on now for 3 1/2 months.. i have contacted consumer affairs but as of today, nothing has been done to correct the problem. the problem is consistent every time i drive it and is getting worse. *tr

Purchased this crossover on 12/14/2012. loss of power has occurred twice while accelerating from between 15-30mph while accelerator was depressed. when i tried to floor the accelerator, the rpm's increased but the cvt did not engage. had to remove foot from accelerator then reapply for the cvt to re-engage. called nissan consumer affairs on 5-31-13 who said my vin is not part of any updates/recalls for this issue. said to take the car to the dealership for evaluation. additionally, i have experienced the 'judder/shutter' about 3-4 times as we'll at highway speeds and in the city. i have read on some discussion boards that a 'fix/part' is in the works for late june. *tr

Vehicle has a periodic shudder as if i was driving over a ripple road for several seconds. the shudder occurs at various speeds usually during light accelerations. over the months the shudder has periodically re-occurred up to the present time. the vehicle now has 1,721 miles. *tr

I am having trouble with the 2013 nissan pathfinder's transmission that i purchased in january 2013. i have approximately 2,800 miles on my vehicle at this time, september 2013. nissan is replacing the transmission at this time. the problem that occurred was when the vehicle would shift around 25-30 mph and/or between 40-45, the vehicle would shudder and also give the noise of "running over a rumble strip." i believe nissan should recall this transmission and replace it with a "fixed" transmission. i also believe nissan should us of those who have these vehicles a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty on the transmission, if not a "lifetime" warranty, or they should return our money and take the vehicles back! we have purchased a "lemon" in my opinion and we should not have to forfeit $35,000-$48,000 (depending on the vehicle a person purchased) of our hard-earned money to nissan. our vehicles are basically not worth any of the money we paid for them. who would want one? do you want to buy my vehicle from me? i'll sell it to you. thank you!

Shortly after purchasing my 2013 nissan pathfinder, i noticed a shudder when accelerating at low speeds. this has randomly happened at least 10-15 times in the past year. after a stop or slow to around 10 miles per hour, the car shudders on acceleration. many times it happens during a turn with acceleration but it also has had the problem during straight acceleration at low speeds. the dealership was made aware of the problem during multiple services but techs were not able to duplicate the problem and did no repairs. *tr

When starting from being stopped and also when going slow from first to second gear, transmission shudders and jerks like it is stuck and can't get into the next gear. took back to dealership and they confirmed there is a problem and that nissan is investigating but doesn't have a fix yet but hopes to by april 2013. most expensive car we ever bought and we have only had it a month and it is doing it more and more frequently. if nissan knew there was a problem they should have stopped selling the cars or at least notify the potential buyer of the problem. we also have the passenger airbag problem too. *tr

During slow acceleration from full stop, the vehicle would vibrate/shudder for a couple or seconds somewhere between 15-25 mph. it feels like the transmission would slip and catch and slip and catch. this happens 3-5 times a day. i drive mostly city driving so its mostly stop and go driving from one light to the next. there has been a recall to reprogram the transmission computer but my vehicle is not part of that recall and exhibits the same issues. even after the reprogram, other owners i've talked to still experience the same issue. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that while driving approximately 35-45 mph, the vehicle started to decelerate without warning. the vehicle was towed to the dealer where the contact was advised that the cooler line clamp failed and needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired. the manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. the failure mileage was approximately 3,125. the current mileage was approximately 3,141.

Have owned the vehicle for 3 weeks. wife was returning from picking of pizza and was 2 miles from house - called me to tell me the car is "dead". arrived to find fluid all over street behind and below vehicle. had it towed to the dealer and the next day was told they would be replacing the radiator and transmission. was told that the hose for transmission was manufactured a bit too small and they have been "falling off" resulting in a transmission and radiator burn out. not how i wanted to begin ownership with a nissan... *tr

I purchased a brand new 2013 nissan pathfinder on 02/16/2013 and steering wheel off balance. 2 days later, i took the car back to henderson nissan but it was just a patch up to the problem. today 02/26/2013 a new problem occurs when i drive at 15mph the transmission jerk cause a big vibration to the car and i'm afraid this will lead to a major problem. i purchase this car to transport my 4 years daughter and i don't want this car transmission to break down on freeway which could cause a major pile up. please consider a safety to our family and many others family own this nissan pathfinder by investigation into this matter. sincerely. *tr

Detected intermittent heat failure in the rear of the vehicle as well as the area surrounding the occupant's feet. check engine light came on after 10 days of ownership. dealership determined code was "transmission fluid pressure switch." the service tech erased the code without performing service. 5 days later driver detected transmission slippage. drove the vehicle to the dealership. service tech and driver took a test drive. service tech confirmed transmission was slipping. while driving back to the dealership, the driver pressed the gas pedal and the car wouldn't move. this created a safety issue for the driver and service tech. it happened twice more and the vehicle almost got stuck under the door trying to return to the dealership. diagnosis by dealer: cvt failure. *tr

I was driving on the highway with my wife and 10 month old daughter. the engine rpms kept going up and down when i pressed the gas with limited or no propulsion. i had to avoid the high speed highway traffic while i moved over 3 lanes to the shoulder. dealership tells me that the vehicle, with 2200 miles, requires a new transmission due to a failure on the transmission oil delivery system. *tr

Vehicle shudders as if driving over rumble bars for approximately 5 seconds when accelerating slowly -- usually around 40 mph. dealer duplicates but has no fix. dealer indicates nissan aware of issue -- believes to be in programming for the cvt -- but does not have a fix at this time. *tr

Shortly after purchasing the 2013 nissan pathfinder in december 2012, we noticed the vehicle shaking when accelerating or decelerating. this occurred in both the 2wd and the 4wd/variable transmission settings. the recall notice received said the continuously variable transmission (cvt) chain might slip and cause the vehicle to "judder", which it did many times. the vehicle acts like the engine will die when stopping or accelerating from a stop, causing hesitation that could result in an accident. after the recommended "reprogramming of the transmission control module (tcm)" by the dealer, the problem continues and now one year and several complaints to the dealer later we were advised to "open a file" with nissan to document the problem, though no one has said if it can be repaired. along with this complaint, we are also contacting the national consumer affairs dept of nissan north america. the "slipping" occurs daily and according to the original recall notice, this might result "in future damage to your vehicle's transmission". *tr

I was driving on the highway at approximately 60 mph when my 2013 nissan pathfinder started to act strange. the rpm's would be erratic going from 3000 - 5000 if i touched the accelerator. then it would stop if i did not touch the accelerator. then 4000 - 6000 rpms. it seemed very unsafe and obviously something was wrong. i decided to get off the highway and on the exit ramp when i heard a large grinding noise and the car stopped. there was an awful burning smell and the cabin filled with smoke in addition to the smoke coming out of the hood. i turned the car off, turned it back on and it would not start. it also stopped in a very unsafe location and eventually the state police came to push me out of the way. called my nissan dealer, they sent a tow truck and i went to the dealership. later that day i found out that the recommendation was for a new transmission. i could not believe this, i was driving a $40,000 brand new suv and that was the only option. how could a new transmission help, if there is a design defect in nissan's pathfinder transmissions? my new car would never be the same. *tr

I have my 2013 pathfinder for around 2 weeks and since day 2 it's having problems i think with the power train. it start to fail the acceleration, like when on a manual car you step out the clutch early. i went twice to a nissan dealer to verify the problem and on both visits they said there's no problem with the suv. so i have to wait to something more happens so they can find a problem. i changed my 2010 pathfinder for this one... i think i made a really bad move here. *tr

During slow acceleration from a full stop, the vehicle will vibrate/shudder as if driving over rumble strip for a second or two usually somewhere between 15-25 mph. the vehicle stops accelerating during this shutter. this happens 3-5 times a day. it has also occurred around 40 mph, but much less frequently. i took it to the dealer who deemed the shuttering characteristic for the cvt design. the dealer also indicated that nissan has not issued any service bulletins addressing known concerns for either the transmission or engine in the 2013 model year pathfinder. i have not been able to consistently reproduce the problem. if this shuttering were to occur as i pulled into traffic, i fear this may lead to an accident.

Driving on the highway @55mph the engine began to rev from low to very high rpms. all of a sudden cabin began to fill with smoke and lost complete power to drive train. move to the side of road and avoided a huge accident with 2 children on board. *tr

After fueling my brand new vehicle for the first time, i headed out and noticed smoke around my vehicle. a neighboring vehicle motioned for me to roll down my window and said i had fluid that looked like anti freeze pouring out from beneath my 2013 pathfinder. i tried to pull over but the suv would no longer accelerate forward and i was stuck in the middle of the road with my children. not knowing why my vehicle was smoking, i contacted the fire department. some people stopped to help and push the vehicle from the street. the fire department arrived and the dealership was contacted. a towing company was sent out. i was told the towing company's have been towing these brand new vehicles alot, some that were driven off the lot and had to be towed. after researching this issue, i found there are several people having the same issue and this issue was under a law suit for the 2005-2010 model pathfinders. it doesn't look like nissan has resolved the issue just yet. *tr

My wife was driving our two week old 2013 nissan pathfinder platinum edition with my four year old daughter when the transmission failed and the vehicle became disabled. the transmission completely failed and the car had to be towed to the local nissan dealer. i was told today that the coolant line burst and that the transmission fluid leaked from the vehicle. as a "precaution" they will be replacing the radiator, transmission line (s), as well as the transmission on the vehicle before returning it to us. the dealer claims that the transmission and radiator did not get affected buy the incident and that they are replacing those parts as a precautionary measure. i have done some research online and learned that a number of other 2013 pathfinders have suffered from the same catastrophic issue. i also learned that previous generations of the pathfinder had similar issues which nissan was very slow to acknowledge. when a vehicle that is traveling at a moderate to high rate of speed looses transmission the driver becomes at risk for a major accident. the vehicle cannot be driven and in our case my wife was saved by a aaa employee who was kind enough to push her car out of the way of oncoming traffic. these cars need to be recalled immediately before someone gets killed. if you are reading this and you know someone who drives this vehicle please tell them to take it to their nissan service department immediately. i am convinced this is going to require a recall. our car had 450 mile on it for gods sake. *tr

We bought a nissan pathfinder 2013 brand new from nissan dealership. after 2 months ,suv transmission shuddering occurred . we contact the dealer ship and manufacturing people they replaced (october. )transmission to refurbished . december 2013 same thing happen but took it again to same dealership workshop, they said they didn't find anything. asked us to get used to driving this suv. but it's been going on. finally we took it again to different dealership we bought this from, they found same transmission issue . nissan manufacturing & dealership fighting their best to not to replace a new car or new transmission . only refurbished transmission and it won't come with extended warranty. current miles on the suv is 15,821.. we really hate to be their ginny pig with this small kids. reason i'm writing this to you cause, we are really frustrated, not safe to drive this vehicle with small kids. i have 5 year old and 6 month old at home. when i drive this vehicle i'm scared and pray before when we go anywhere and we are uncomfortable due to back shuddering problem (loosing power) . we felt we been cheated and got no justice for the money and time we spend on this piece of junk we bought . we already spend a lot of money for this vehicle don't have enough money to spend on lawyer, so would you please do some investigation, please consider our issue seriously . my kids are 5 year old and 6 month old. we felt like we spend more time and energy on this issue more than our kids. its breaking our heart that no one care. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that while driving 20 mph, the vehicle shook while shifting gears on several separate occasions. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis but they were unable to duplicate the problem. the manufacturer was not notified. the approximate failure mileage was 1,000. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph, the transmission began shuttering. additionally, the failure occurred while the contact was attempting to accelerate. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 3,000. *tr

I was at a stop leaving an apartment complex. i entered a busy road and when i pressed the accelerator, the rpm's rose but the vehicle would not accelerate. i had to take my foot off the gas and then hit the gas again before it started to pick-up speed. this has happened on multiple occasions. *jb

While driving around 35 mph the pathfinder started sputtering between 3000-4000 rpms and would not increase in speed. i stopped the vehicle and shut off the engine in hopes to reset a problem. when i turned the car back on, the pathfinder would not move in drive or reverse. as the tow truck driver was loading the pathfinder he noticed a large amount of liquid coming from underneath the vehicle. once at the dealership they found that the transmission cooler line had burst and the radiator needed to be replace. also another owner of a 2013 pathfinder was also having problems with their transmission and was told that a problem had been identified with the computer that was affecting the transmission. nissan knew about the problem but didn't catch it prior to the new pathfinder leaving the factory. *tr

While i was driving with my 5 year old and 5 month old my 2013 pathfinder on 12/29 (which i had for 1 month)it started feeling like it was missing gears and sputtering. the rpms started to rev up between 4000-5000 and was only going about 45 mph and the vehicle was not going any faster, and the car was jerking as i was driving it. i stopped and turned the car off hoping it was just a fluke but when i stared it would not move when i was in reverse i then put in drive again it was doing the same thing but this time the check engine light came on, and i even pressed the cruise to see if that would work and it wouldn't work either. i brought it to the dealership and they told me it was a transmission module chip that needed to be replaced. i waited 10 days and finally they said it was ready. i picked it up and literally turned around because it was doing the exact same thing except this time as i took my foot of the pedal the vehicle did not decelerate and continued to drive at 60mph without me pressing the gas until i hit the brake it started to slow down, thank god, all while my baby is in the car with me. since then it has been at the dealership which does not know what to do now and i have been in contact with nissan expressing my concern for the vehicles safety, and the fact it is brand new a month old car and the only thing that i'm being told is that they are sending a tech from nissan and they're really sorry about my trouble. so now the car just sits at the dealership going on a month and neither one i feel has been really concerned with trying to fix the vehicle in a timely manner or worried on the safety of it. i am totally disappointed with the way the dealership and nissan have handled the situation. so much for them being concerned about the well being and safety of their passengers. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 nissan pathfinder. the contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, the transmission began shifting hard. when driving approximately 30 mph, the vehicle would vibrate excessively. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis however, the technician was unable to diagnose the failure and advised the contact that the failure was not safety related. the technician reset the transmissions computer but the failure continued. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 1,600. *tr

While driving the vehicle when the car goes to shift gears it start s shuttering like you are rolling over rumble strips. i tried to climb a small hill by my office and the car could not get up the hill. i let off the gas and then pressed the gas again and it finally made it. sometimes while trying to merge into traffic the car loses power to excel. also bought this car to specifically tow a trailer/boat and have been advised that i should not tow with it. *tr

I purchased my pathfinder in november 2012. at about 1000 miles into ownership (less than a month, my vehicle started shuddering and acting like it was going to stall. when i took it in for the first service they told me they checked for it and couldn't find anything. then they asked me to bring it back in for a computer update. it still shuddered. at the next service repeat the same scenario and they couldn't find anything again. the shudder is progressively getting worse at this point. when i took it back for the 3rd service i told the dealership again and was told the same thing again. repeat one more time in 9/13 and they told me i needed a new transmission. a new transmission was put in on 10/7 and i picked it up on 10/8. i left for a beach 800 mile trip on 10/9 and the shuddering is still happening and now when i turn my wheels while slowing down (entering my garage/braking in a curve) the brakes will not hold and the vehicle will surge as if out of control. if i leave it running for a 10 or so minutes in park then try to put it in drive the vehicle tries to surge away from me as if i cannot control it unless holding the brakes down. last week the vehicle jumped across 2 lanes of oncoming traffic then quit. i quickly started it again and jumped into a parking lot. the dealer picked it up and told me they could not duplicate the problem and would do anything to help me. in fact they said it was driver error. the last i heard when you press the gas the car should go and when you press the brakes the car should stop. it is now sitting in the dealer parking lot because i am extremely afraid of it. they told me it was just fine and to come and get it. i almost died last week in it and it is not safe. the dealer will not help me nor consumer affairs at nissan are helping me. no one should be driving this vehicle. so now i am out $44,000 for an unsafe car. *tr

I bought this vehicle in november 2012 because i had heard all great things about nissan. the first week of owning the vehicle i had issues with the driver side power window. it would either go down extremely slowly or not at all. i brought it back to the dealership and they "fixed the problem". the window is still very slow but better than it was. a couple weeks later, the passenger air bag light started going on and off all the time. it didn't matter if there was a person in the seat or not. i brought it back to the dealership and they "fixed the problem". it still goes on once in a while but very rarely. biggest problem, since i bought the vehicle it has been shuddering (almost like going over a rumble strip) when i am driving low speeds. (around 20 mph) i dropped the vehicle off at the dealership this morning and they told me that they are aware of the problem and they will either need to do a software update or possibly give me a new transmission. i am not happy!! when you spend $35,000 on a vehicle you do not expect all of these problems. i will never buy another nissan. *tr

Drivetrain software issue: when i bought the 2013 pathfinders, like any new owner i was thrilled. . unfortunately there were a few things i did not anticipate. . so when my pathfinder began shuttering and shaking at 900 miles, i contacted nissan consumer affairs, who said they had no knowledge of the problem, who then referred me to the dealership service department, who with all of there up-to-date computer diagnostics could not fit the problem. the shuttering & shaking continue every few days. the more mile i put on the car, the worst the shakes and shutters became. sometimes the car would shake so violently, that the engine would bog down and loose all power. so, after multiple trips to the service repair department, i finally got a straight answer. . apparently, software that controls the drivetrain, and was designed to improve the vehicles mileage, actually ends up damaging the belt drive. not something nissan was expecting, but knew about before i bought the car. what has happened to my vehicle, also was reported by other people earlier in the year. "the shuttering is actually the result of damage to the drivetrain from the glitch in the software". so if the shuttering occurs to the vehicle, the drivetrain is already damaged and needs to be replaced. *tr

I found this video on youtube, this the same noise i feel when iam driving my 2013 pathfinder. i already took it in to the dealership they say it needed and added cvt fluid cause it was low on it. it seems that was not the issue cause the cvt jerking and the lost of power when driving is still there. the vin number is [xxx],.thanks for your assistance, i was so happy with the purchase that if this issue is not resolved.i may have to return it, due to the safety concern for myself and family.i have enclosed link also will be there again tomorrow morning for the same issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pmjr62zw_88. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

While driving at a speeds of 40 or below the vehicle will begin to shake/shudder. it will continue for approximately 5-10 seconds. it also appears to loose power. the dealership has looked at it and reprogrammed it but shortly after leaving it began to do it again. *tr

Around 20 mph trans jerks. *tr

Nissan pathfinder 2013 transmission has shuttered and shuttered for several months, the transmission was replaced. 30 days it started again only worse, took it to the dealer in gulfport, ms and the mechanic thinks it has bad gas. brought the car in florida, they worked on it and seemed to know what they were doing. today, while driving around 35 mph, it mad a sound like i hit something in the road, really loud, we could feel it in our seats, i turned around and went home. i am scared to drive it. *tr
