We have classified the 7 complaints from 2005 Nissan Pathfinder about EQUIPMENT into the following categories.
I am filing this complaint since nissan does not do anything with the problem to be fixed, i have a 2005 nissan pathfinder, when were on the road our car is having trouble shifting starts jerking, and were so scared that will not make it home because the way its acting we finally made it home and the ca would not reverse we look online and search what' causing the problem and read a bunch of complaint with the consumer at automotive.com stating that the reason for the problem is the radiator fluid leaked into the transmission that causing the transmission to burn, called around with a bunch of auto mechanic and when i mention that i need my transmission replace the mechanic immediately said you know you need your radiator replace because that is causing your transmission problem i filed a complaint with nissan and denied the complaint this should be in the recall because this is dangerous if you weren't aware of the problem if your on the road hope you can help us with this problem. *tr
My 2005 nissan pathfinder started stalling last week. i would be driving on the highway and it would just go dead making it near impossible to turn the steering wheel. i was towed to the nissan dealership whom informed me it was an ipdm issue which was in the process of a recall.i informed them i was strapped for money being it was a 700 dollar job. they said chances were it would be covered. it was not covered! i was informed by their consumer affair people if there was infact a recall i may be notified for reimbursement. i have found on numerous sites that it is recalled but because i did not receive a letter it is not their problem. this is not the first issue i've had with nissan. a fuel sensor issue was found and they covered nothing telling me it was not a safety issue. i was out of warranty so tough luck. another 377.00 bucks. please investigate nissans practices. i will never trust the nissan name again. *tr
I own a 2005 nissan pathfinder and i have radiator and transmission failure! defective radiator causes engine coolant to leak into transmission which could fail at any time. driving at highway speed could and will cause dangerous situations. i must not be alone in this problem either, there are hundreds of complaints on this sight regarding this very issue! nissan needs to take responsibility for their design/manufacturing flaw. many consumers who are not aware of this are at danger and other people on the road as well. nissan needs to recall this immediately!!! why does someone have to be killed or injured seriously before nhtsa or nissan gets involved. i guess money is the root of all evil! and nissan is more concerned about their profits than someone's life! we as consumers need to do something about this! this has nothing to do with the wear and tear on our part, but nissan design department! *tr
My 2005 nissan pathfinder fuel sending unit was not working properly. you did not know exactly how much gas was in the vehicle therefore could have caused severe injury if driving and ran out of gas and didn't know it! *tr
2005 nissan pathfinder. engine cuts off without warning while driving. has happened twice in traffic, one time at a busy intersection. vehicle starts about 20 minutes later. took vehicle to dealer who advised that it's 'most likely' ipdm failure but they are unable to diagnose as it doesn't throw a code. dealer kept car 5 days and "tried" to duplicate the failure to positively diagnose, but was unable to. the day after picking it up from the dealer the engine quit again in traffic. now we are told that our warranty company will only cover if they can positively diagnose. my toddler was in the car the first time this occurred and our car died in the middle of an intersection between 2 6-lane roads. couldn't remove the vehicle for 30 minutes. just waiting for it to happen while merging on the interstate during rush hour traffic. hopefully there are no injuries or fatalities as a result of this failure. *tr
No problems with vehicle just one day didn't switch gears and service engine light came on. that was it nissan told me almost 6000 to fix radiator rotted and fluids leaked into transmission which made both no good. also 2 months later cd player stopped working will not eject and cds stuck in the system. *tr
I bought the car in feb. of 2009 and by march of 2009 the fuel sensor started acting funny. it was not covered(which it should have been by the dealer) and i could not afford to pay out of pocket. now the fuel level will read "- - -" when the tank is less than 1/4 a tank of gas and it also makes the "service engine light" come on. it is not safe for families to be driving with a defective fuel sensor. i did receive the something in the mail about a recall on the gas gauge, but my vehicle had just passed the 72000 mile mark(72135 roughly) so i was told that it was not covered and i would have to pay out of pocket for the problem. i have been looking online and the fix is very expensive $500 and up. on a one income home i cannot afford to pay for a part that should have been fixed by the dealer before i bought the vehicle! also, when locking the car the horn does not sound anymore. this is not a huge deal but i am wondering if it has something to do with the "service engine light" that came on because of the fuel sensor. *tr
Salvador alarcon who is the owner of alarcon's tire shop was acted deceitfully by having his staff install 235x65x17 vehicle tires on my 2005 nissan pathfinder which uses 265x65x17 tires. these tires not only compromise the safety of my family and myself but cause a significant amount of wear and tear on my vehicle. alarcon's tire shop 495 e 26th st ogden, ut 84401. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan pathfinder. the vehicle was purchased on 4/11/05. the seat belt failure began on 2/1/07 at 32,000 miles. when the driver side seat belt was not latched and the brakes were applied the warning seat belt light came on, but there was no warning sound to alert the driver that the seat belt wasn't locked. on 2/3/07, there were additional repairs to the seat belt system. however ,the failure recurred. the dealer ordered the body control module, and was currently talking to nissan to diagnose the failure. on 2/4/07, the contact advised the dealer that the heater vent control motor that adjusts the vents was constantly on blower mode. the heater vent control would not change to the defrost position when selected. the dealer repaired the vent modulator motor ,and the heater failure was resolved. the contact wanted the seat belt warning system repaired prior to the warranty expiring. the current mileage was 30,369.*ak consumer states hissing noise coming front right rear door even when radio is inoperable. update 4/9 *tr
2005 pathfinder se, roof rack front covers keep coming off while driving, design/mounting mechanism insufficient. it's happened 3 times, driver's side twice, passenger side once. dealer said parts are on back-order because other pathfinder owners are having problems too. nissan needs to figure out how to mount these covers, instead of just keep on replacing them! *nm
