Recently reported UNKNOWN OR OTHER problems on 2015 Nissan Murano

The collision light goes on intermittently while in motion on city and highways and causes the cruise control not to work unless the car is turned off and resets itself.

The vehicle was in motion driving about 45 miles an hour (no rain, no snow on the car), when the sunroof spontaneously exploded. the car was going straight forward with no bumps in the road. no rocks hit the car and there was no collision. it was about 1:30pm in december in michigan, there were no other cars around, no rocks. the sunroof exploded on i's own - due to faulty equipment. the car had about 21,000 miles and has never been in an accident. we purchased it certified, pre owned from a nissan dealership 8 months prior. nissan has refused to take any responsibility for the issue.

Two weeks ago i was backing out of my garage as always and hit my other vehicle. the backup sensor didn't sound. i now have a dent. it happened again last week away from home but luckily i had someone directing me and i was right on the car and no sensor went off. my vehicle is a 2015 nissan murano. i feel that i should be a part of recall. i purchased it in march 2019 and purchased extended warranty.

The backup camera did not function properly. backing up the indicator did not show or sound a warning. this occurred when i was backing up on a street and hit a car. it also does not sound regularly when i'm backing up in all situations.

Sluggish acceleration and shuddering at speeds below 35 mph. i am not sure what is causing it but it almost acts like it could die. i release my foot from the gas pedal and then push it again to get the hesitation to stop and continue driving. this has happened more than 4 times since i bought the vehicle in april 2019.

My barely 3 year old vehicle recently began displaying a warning that the anti collusion system was not functional and i noticed this also disabled and disengaged the cruise control resulting in sudden deceleration .this problem seems to reset when car is started and reoccurs after 15 or 20 minutes driving . i took the car to a nissan dealership service dept both reps at the desk told me the problem was a recall on the less expensive more common rogue model but not on the murano which used the very same components and also told me it was very expensive to fix .i searched on line and on numerous sites found it was a very common serious defect with a bosch supplied sensor on the radar . why are they fixing one model but not the same defect on the murano .this is a driving safety feature i considered essential to my purchase and when suddenly fails disengaging cruise control presents a very dangerous situation . the manufacturer is well aware of the issue and insists i pay to diagnosis and at this point pay a very large repair bill to repair ,,,,unacceptable !

Anti collision light falsely illuminates often, indicating impending collision. nissan has many reports of this problem, but needs to recall. wife is afraid to drive the vehicle. this mainly city driving. dealer (lamb nissan, prescott, az) says it will cost $1600 to replace forward radar sensor. only 36782 mileage. it is possible the car will slam to a stop for no reason, as has happened to others.

The murano has approximately 35,000 miles on it. it was driving fine without any strange noises. it suddenly lost power and would not go faster than 2 mph. luckily it was on a dead end road and there was traffic around or it would have been hit and the driver would have been severely injuries if not killed. there was absolutely no warning and no lights on the dashboard. it is going to cost $800 to fix as it has been diagnosed as the alternator. the vehicle had to be towed.

On the morning of november 7, 2017, the front/sliding portion of the sunroof on my 2015 nissan murano spontaneously exploded while i was driving down i-5 in seattle, wa, at the posted speed (60 mph). the sound of the explosion was deafening (i thought that a gunshot had been fired at my vehicle, and/or i had had a catastrophic tire blowout). luckily the retractable fabric "shield" between the sunroof and the interior of the vehicle was deployed, and the shattered glass did not fall on me. i was able to pull off the freeway and prevent large chunks of glass from flying into on-coming traffic. i subsequently reported this incident to my insurance company, and the sunroof was replaced by my insurer (the cost of the replacement glass was approximately $1500; i paid a $250 deductible, and the insurance company paid the rest).

I was driving my certified pre-owned 2015 nissan murano with my 1 year old daughter in the back seat, a car that i just purchased 2 weeks ago when the front half of the panoramic sunroof suddenly exploded. i was not under an underpass, there were no cars right next to me. it sounded like a gun shot & glass came shattering down the front & back seat where my daughter was in her car seat. this was an absolutely terrifying, dangerous experience that could have ended a lot worse. i consider my daughter & i lucky that we were not injured but from what i have read, this is not an uncommon occurrence. this safety issue with exploding sunroofs needs to be resolved as this is a very dangerous issue that consumers should be aware of before buying a nissan or any car with a sun roof.

Passenger side airbag stops detecting adult passenger, was recalled by nissan in 2016 and system was reprogramed, it's now may 2017 and the problem has started again. will need to contact nissan for repairs. also when driving there is an extreme glare from the back side of the hood which blinds and disorients when driving towards the sun, nearly wreaked car because i could not see for a few seconds. this happens all year when sun shines.

Nissan campaign : pc482 on 9/92016 took vehicle in to have abs actuator checked. it was within range for recall. part was ordered. week of 9/192016, received call from dealer central appointments (sheehy nissan waldorf) telling me part was in and was given appt on 9/23/2016 to have abs actuator replaced. on 9/23, at dealership, i was told nissan is not replacing abs actuator as called for in campaign unless it has leaked and abs light is on. this is a part non-conformance issue. when seal allows leak, it drips on circuit board which will cause a fire. remedy is to park vehicle, call for tow and get rental. this is unsafe and remains so. nissan recall states "your nissan dealer will inspect the serial number of the abs actuator, and if it is within the affected range, the dealer will replace the abs actuator with a new abs actuator at no cost." my actuator is within affected range and nissan is not complying with their own recall remedy.

Nhtsa recall 16v-244, the occupant classification system software, notified 6/16, dealer attempted to correct the problem in june, july, sept., oct., nov., and advised me in dec. that there was no "fix", at that time i was turned over to nissan consumer affairs, case#24846736, in late dec. i was advised that nissan would decide to either buy the car back or replace it in 10 days; that period has passed and they are blaming the dealer for not sending work orders, but i verified they were sent twice and nissan misplaced them. the car is unsafe to drive with a passenger and i feel that i am just getting the "run-a-round". i have photos but don't know how to attach them.

The brake and gas peddle are far too close together causing the foot to have a problem transferring form the gas to brake. this has caused me to almost have several accidents. this is very dangerous. this has happened several times in city driving and a few times on highway.

Nissan murano 2015 bose navigation system - gps routing errors can misroute 200+ miles out of the way from normal routes under certain start and destination entries. this could put the driver and passengers at risk in some areas of the country especially in bad weather. nissan has acknowledged the problem can be repeated in other 2015 muranos but stated they have no timeframe for resolution.
