I was driving on the freeway at 8:30 pm when my vehicle began to lose power and stalling, it finally shut down completely in the fast lane. i frantically tried restart finally it did i was then only able to get the vehicle in the small space between the on ramp and the slow lane of freeway. the traffic was heavy and i almost get hit by a vehicle while attempting to get to a safe place. where the incident occurred the are concrete barriers due to the expansion work being done on highway 4 west bound. pittsburgh california. i bought the vehicle brand new on feb 23, 2006, it has had numerous mechanical defects from day one. in the last 2 years i have spent over $ for repairs and last month i brought to the dealer for these problems and they advised me that the vehicle had more repairs that it needed costing $2500.00. i am at my wits end. i am not working on disability. on the following day the car did it again. *tr

This complaint is on the 2006 nissan murano, on 5/29/10 my grandmother and myself got into the veh when i turned the veh on there was a burning smell i checked under the hood and saw nothing i got back in and checked the dashboard to see if there was any maintenance issue and saw nothing. as we were getting out of the vehicle my grandmother stated she felt heat on the area of the armrest. i came inside for no more than 5 mins and when i came back out the interior of the vehicle was on fire between the front passenger seats i immediately called 911 as a result of this fire the veh was a total loss. i have pics of the aftermath showing that the trunk hatch melted and that the interior was nothing but the frame. up until 5/29/10 there was no indication that anything was wrong when there is a maintenance issue a green wrench pops up on the dashboard screen and the only time that popped up was when the tire rotation maintenance was due. the only maintenance that i have had done on the vehicle since purchasing on 11/07/10 was an oil change, the other scheduled maintenance was for 4/17/10 for a tire rotation which was not done because the service technician put down for an oil change which was not needed, i had scheduled this appt online and it was also confirmed online what i was coming in to have done. the mechanic did an oil change and i explained to him i was not due for an oil change he told me the 2 tires would soon need to be replaced on the vehicle therefore there was no need to rotate an he reset the monitor on the veh. i have spoken with the mgr of nissan passport to discuss the damages to the veh and he said i would have to speak with nissan about the manufacturing. i have been trying to speak with a consumer affairs rep since about 6/3/10, when i call i am placed on holdam placed over 20 minutes and still have not been able to file a complaint. nissan rep brittanny ext 47118 my file # [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan murano. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs under nhtsa recall campaign id number: 09v169000 (engine: engine and engine cooling). following repairs, the vehicle stalled twice while driving at unknown speeds. the vehicle was towed to the dealer. the dealer advised that they would confirm that the recall repair was performed accordingly upon further inspection. the failure mileage was 40,800 and the current mileage was 40,950.
I have a 2006 nissan murano. the issue originated with the air intake problem that nissan recalled last year. prior to the recall i had taken my car in because of the poor performance and near accidents that the air intake issue caused. i had taken the car to town north nissan to have the issue checked out and they said the problem was my motor mounts were defective and that would fix the air intake issue. i continued to experience issues with the air intake and fixing the motor mounts did not resolve this problem. after the air intake recall came out i took the car in to have the parts replaced. while picking up my car i spoke to the service manager about my frustration on having to replace the motor mounts which never resolved the problem. the service manager explained that they were aware that the motor mounts on the murano were weak (not just mine but across the board) and they felt that would resolve the problem. i have had numerous cars in my life and have put over 100,000 miles on several of the cars that i owned and i have never had to replace the motor mounts. if nissan knows that the motor mounts are weak on this car then why has that part not been recalled?
In february of this year, my 2006 nissan murano began to stall as i was driving. i brought my car into the dealership and was told that the bello boot was loose. i paid to have the fuel injection system cleaned. could this be related to recall #09v16900. *tr
Murano is still continuing to have problems with the coolant and dealer can not find out what is wrong with it so they can not fix it. contacted nissan and they refuse to replace or re-purchase my vehicle. at this time it has been seen by the dealer 5 times documented, 2 times undocumented. i feel like this falls into the lemon law, so i will be filling a lemon law suit against nissan at this time. i like my murano but this needs to be corrected. *jb
Taken to dealer several times for continuous smell of coolant coming from vehicle when motor gets hot. dealer continues to claim that nothing is wrong with it. recently took a trip to tennessee and the coolant in the reservoir was almost gone by the time i got back home. if anyone else is having this problem nissan should know about it. at this time nothing has been repaired or replaced and we still have the smell of the coolant coming from our vehicle. *nm
