I have a 2005 nissan murano. the door actuator has failed on numerous occasions. the front driver side fails intermittently as well as the rear door latch. the passenger side door will not open at all. truly this is a safety issue and should be corrected by nissan. currently, i have seen nor heard of any recall. *tr

My 2005 nissan murano lock actuator on the driver side went out. *tr

2005 nissan murano door locks fail to lock and unlock. i have a 2005 murano and the door locks recently have stopped working. the lock will not lock or unlock with the remote or with the door lock button on driver or passenger door. this is even a bigger problem having a 2 year old in the vehicle and the only way to unlock the door is manually. since there is no key hole on the rear doors you have to climb through the vehicle to lock the door. i can't even lock the door if she manually moves the lock with her hand i can't lock it from the driver side control. the problem started with the driver lock, then progressed to the rear right door, now three of the 4 doors are affected and also the rear hatch. it is not an option to open if you can't use the unlock button. there is no manual release button to unlock the hatch. this can a public problem for ever attempting to get a child out of a car in the case of any emergency. *tr

2005 murano. right side passenger side door lock buttons on the outside of the door do not work and now rare door lock is does not lock. *tr

On september 17, my driver's door would not open with the keyless entry or with the actual key. i called nissan of queens to state again that something fraudulent was done to my car since my initial visit on september 4. they advised me to come in to "check" the problem. however, past experience leads me to believe it will be to "fix" the door, charge me some ridiculous amount, and then create another malfunction. this new malfunction will have me coming back the next week for a repeat of this fraudulent service. my car is breaking down before my eyes and i cannot understand why nissan would let this happen to a loyal customer. as you know tampering with my car door can be harmful to my person in the following ways: 1.having a secure environment is paramount in certain neighborhoods. when locking the doors it's imperative nobody can gain access at will by walking up to the car. if anyone can simply open the door to gain access, carjacking, injury, or even murder is easier. if the doors locked properly this provides a more secure environment for this type of scenario. 2.there is a security problem with nissan locking mechanism and not recalling them for safety concern is negligent. it's an open door to a lawsuit if someone were to be murdered due to a door that didn't lock, although the driver pushed the lock button and heard the locking noise. remember, in this case there's no obvious indication the door isn't locked unless someone walks up and opens it from the outside. the drive "thinks" the door is locked, when in reality it's an "open door" for carjacking or robbery. 3.in emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar. the locking/unlocking solenoid malfunctioning is clearly a high risk in emergency scenarios. some people who cannot afford the $1600 to have all the solenoids replaced (as quoted by dealers). *tr

2005 nissan murano. the left seat ( drivers ). about one month ago i noticed that the seat was loose on the left side of the seat. i took it to the dealers and they found that the aft lift rod had cracked. the repair would cost over 1000 dollars. i made a repair on the seat by welding the broken part. *tr

Bought 2005 nissan murano 8-08, had electrical problems 1st week replaced battery, 2nd week ,labor day weekend alternator failed, had replaced under warranty. took 2 and a half to 3weeks in shop . 3 weeks later the replacement alternator failed also. *tr

Door lock failed to perform on nissan murano 05 1. having a secure environment is paramount in certain neighborhoods. when locking the doors it's imperative nobody can gain access at will by walking up to the car. if anyone can simply open the door to gain access, carjacking, injury, or even murder is easier. if the doors locked properly this provides a more secure environment for this type of scenario. 2. nissan knowing there is a security problem with their locking mechanism and not recalling them for safety concern is negligent. it's an open door to a lawsuit if someone were to be murdered due to a door that didn't lock, although the driver pushed the lock button and heard the locking noise. remember, in this case there's no obvious indication the door isn't locked unless someone walks up and opens it from the outside. the drive "thinks" the door is locked, when in reality it's an "open door" for carjacking or robbery. this failure is an intermittent of operation. sometimes the doors lock ok, other times they don't. in addition, sometimes the doors unlock ok, other times they don't. 3. in emergencies it's important to be able to unlock doors quickly. since 99% of the time we all use the button to lock and unlock doors, using the manual locking lever is unfamiliar. and the murano's design is such that it's not easy to comprehend if it's not your car, for instance a rental car. i can easily understand how some people would be confused how unlock a door using the manual level in an emergency when they virtually have no experience with it. in emergencies every second counts. the locking/unlocking solenoid malfunctioning is clearly a high risk in emergency scenarios. some people who cannot afford the $1600 to have all the solenoids replaced (as quoted by dealers) will forgo getting them fixed, putting their family members at risk with the above mishap examples. this shouldn't be, nissan should recall them. *tr

My boyfriend was driving my car on the i-10 when he suddenly heard a loud crack and the seat was suddenly lopsided. i therefore brought the car into my local nissan dealership to see about having it repaired and if my warranty would cover it. i was informed that parts and labor would cost $846, i also had to pay the $90 whether or not i was going to have it repaired. i contacted my warranty company and was told that after careful consideration they would not cover it because it happened after the 36000 mile. my car had roughly 60k miles at the time of the occurrence. i now have to ride with two large phone books under my seat in order to drive. i asked that a supervisor contact me and no one ever did. i now have 72k miles and would like to see about repairing this before it hits 100k. i am not quite sure of the date but i do know that it was sometime in january. *tr

Since lease of vehicle in july 2005, many problems. most recent is lack of acceleration at random times. vehicle was fixed and in less that a week of it returned to me, problem happened again. i do not have any warning that the car will cease to accelerate. it is not a safe vehicle to drive, especially with my children or others children in the car. i am afraid for my children's lives as well as my own when i am driving this vehicle. the vehicle required a new engine when it was slightly more than a year old, it has had many other things wrong with it, however this is the most serious and possibly deadly. *tr

Failure of fuel tank that had a safety recall - after installing the guard on tank tank still split open causing gas to go all over the road we could have died. defective design with tank on bottom of vehicle dangerous close to road. *jb

Drivers seat rocks to the left. was informed by jim mills nissan that the seat track was bad, $716 to replace. not covered under extended warranty. this was on aug.22, 2007. filed a complaint with nissan. now were having problems with drivers side sunvisor falling down while your driving and passenger door lock not securing all the way. the lock mechanism will go part of the way and stop. all of the items above are safety issues that need to be addressed by nissan. yes, i purchased the extended warranty. *tr

I own a 2005 nissan murano sl [xxx] and due to recall number 06v048000, i took in my vehicle to have the gas tank shield and safety belt webbing installed to st charles nissan inc, st peters, mo (nissan dealer no. scn). upon my vehicle's return, i find there is no 2nd row lh seat belt clip for me to insert either the 2nd row lh seat belt or my child seat securing harness into. there were 3 clips prior to my taking the vehicle into the dealership - one for 2nd row rh, one in the middle and one for 2nd row lh. now there are only 2 and i can see visible signs of the lh seat belt clip having being cut off from the seat. this prevents me from attaching my child seat for lh rear passenger to use a seat belt. i am not sure if this is the dealerships fault or nissan's direction to the dealership to remove the seat belt clip, but as of right now there is no way i can use a child seat as there is no place to secure the harness on the left hand side. *nm updated 07/16/2012 *js information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6)

My 6-month pregnant wife was driving our new murano when all the sudden the car's service engine light went on and the car wouldn't go beyond a few miles an hour on the interstate. although she made it home safe, when we had it towed to the dealer they told us that there was nothing wrong with the car. since their computer didnt recognize a problem, the technician wouldnt look at it. a few weeks later, the same thing happened again to us and when we took it in again the dealer seemed ignorant of the recall. we received the recall notice in between incidents and couldnt get an appt right away. when i showed him the form, he said that the alternator probably didnt need to be replaced but that they'd look at it. it's frustrating that we have to fight so much to get this issue resolved.
