The vehicle has a subframe that has rotted from the inside out. after doing research online, this is a common issue with most murano's produced between the years 2004 and 2007 with around 120,000 miles. the result of this is loss of stability on the road while moving, and the potential for the rear suspension to come off of the vehicle. this also causes the car to not pass pennsylvania state inspection regulations. again, because this issue is caused from the metal of the subframe corroding from the inside out, it is a manufacturer's fault, no the driver/owners's. and because the majority of this make of car in these select years, shows coincidence is not to blame.
While driving at a safe speed on the highway (65 mph) with no other cars in my vicinity my sunroof exploded for no reason at all. the was a loud boom and then the interior material of the sunroof started flapping. since it was closed at the time, i'm thankful that the interior material caught the majority of the glass with only the remaining outskirts of glass making its way into the car. this happened out of the blue for no apparent reason. there were no other cars near me so it could not have been from a rock or something that was kicked up from another vehicle. it was a clear, sunny day in the upper 60's.
1/31/2020 - brake light and battery light came on. at a traffic light, went to proceed when light turned green, car literally died as i accelerated.
The collision light goes on intermittently while in motion on city and highways and causes the cruise control not to work unless the car is turned off and resets itself.
While driving on a primary road at approx. 50 mph, my sunroof exploded without warning. it sounded as if a gun was fired next to my ear.
While driving the vehicle it may randomly stall causing the motor to shut down while the car is in use making it very unsafe. also random over heating and stalling i've changed both camshaft sensors and the crankshaft sensor also the radiator and the thermostat nothing fixes it. there was a recall on my vehicle but i need to be put on the list i was left out.
Purchased 2018 nissan morano sl suv on 12/14/2019. driving from dealer on 4 lane highway, approx. 3 mi., dashboard displayed 'unavailable front radar obstruction'. it has randomly displayed this ever since. nissan dealer stated they have been 'desensitizing' the radar as a remedy but denied having any previous knowledge of this defect.
The vehicle was in motion driving about 45 miles an hour (no rain, no snow on the car), when the sunroof spontaneously exploded. the car was going straight forward with no bumps in the road. no rocks hit the car and there was no collision. it was about 1:30pm in december in michigan, there were no other cars around, no rocks. the sunroof exploded on i's own - due to faulty equipment. the car had about 21,000 miles and has never been in an accident. we purchased it certified, pre owned from a nissan dealership 8 months prior. nissan has refused to take any responsibility for the issue.
When driving in cruise control, the vehicle will suddenly flash a signal stating "front radar obstruction, unavailable" which disengages the braking system while driving in cruise control, . this almost caused a major accident on the highway because the radar failed to alert and automaticall slow car down. this also causes a hazard when driving on regular streets as all of a sudden the signal flashes inexplicably and unpredictably which causes a distraction while driving.
2005 murano purchased 6 yrs ago has 67,000 mi on it. have never had a problem previously but has started burning oil. have kept up on regular maintenance but was lax this time. car went 5,000 mi before having a problem with smoke from exhaust and pinging noise. took to mechanic and was told that the oil was 3 1/2 qts low. my mechanic thinks i might need to rebuild the engine or buy new. he will check it in a week to see if it's still burning oil. he changed the oil and wants to monitor it before we make the decision to do additional work. i never had any indication that it was low on oil. my fault for not checking it but would think i would have gotten an indicator light. anyone else burning thru oil like this?
