Approaching a parking lot gate slowly with my foot gently on the brake. engine suddenly surged to full power. i'm a 250 lb. male and applied brakes with both feet and couldn't stop vehicle. hit the gate arm causing little damage (inconsequential). finally stopped and engine returned to idle when i managed to shift to neutral.

While pulling into a parking space, i experienced an unintentional acceleration of my 2009 maxima. i hit a light pole damaging the front right side of my car. several months later i experienced the same type of acceleration, but i reacted in time by using my brakes. *tr
