Recently reported POWER TRAIN problems on 2006 Nissan Maxima

Catastrophic failure of the transmission and torque converter. this was an oem transmission. service was maintained on the unit since purchasing the vehicle in 2009. *tr

I was looking at purchasing a nissan maxima. i found one that is an 2006, test drove it and everything checked out to be a perfect car. no accidents and i received and clean car fax on the car. i purchased this vehicle with 78k miles and the day i purchased it and drove it off the lot, i started experiencing jerking with the shifting of the gears. when i test drove this vehicle twice on different days i never experienced any jerking with the car. as the day went on, i started to experience more frequent and harder shifts, then it started to slam really hard into gears or rev the engine up to 4rpm then slam into gears like someone had hit me. so, i immediately took the car back the same day i purchased it only a few hours later, come to find out the transmission went out. it has been a week today that i have been without my new car that i purchased and still won't get it back until the end of the week, because the dealership i purchased the car from was trying to figure out what to do. finally, came to conclusion to replace the transmission for me.i am a very unhappy customer and will not purchase a nissan ever again because, this problem is not being addressed properly. i am really upset about after i find out about having to replace the transmission that i find several reviews on the 04-06 model nissan maximas experience this same exact problem around 60k miles and conveniently right after their warranties expire. since this is a major issue with these models apparently, there should be a recall. *tr

I was first told that the cataylic converter was gone, had that replaced, then was told 2 motor mounts were gone, had them replaced and still have the same problem, with the car jerking with a hard knock into 1 and 2nd gear and now it is accelerating while driving and jerking into gear. nissan needs to recall the transmission on these 2006 maximas there are so people having the same problem. *tr

My 2006 nissan maxima has been feeling weird for some weeks now. every time it was taken to the mechanic shop they were never ever able to pinpoint the issue. after having spent hundreds of dollars on a new valve body, transmission flush, etc. the issue now seems to be the transmission! my transmission is completely out! i am very disappointed that i have spent $21,000+ on this car to get nothing but dept out of it! after almost getting into multiple accidents from the sudden jerking of the transmission, i can say i will never purchase another nissan vehicle again!!!!! i wish i would have done research on this vehicle sooner so that i could have traded it in before it was too late. my mother who also purchased a nissan (quest) is beginning to have the same problems. we are very disappointed with the company. the least nissan could do it repair the damage for all the customers that are going through the same issue! *tr

Same problem as others are reporting. 2006 maxima with 80k miles and now getting transmission slipping going from 1st to 2nd and from drive to reverse with a delay of about 5 seconds before it shifts. no problems show on dashboard. took it to my known mechanic as i don't trust dealers as they try to upsell me nonsense and was told the tranny failing, it will happen on and off but will eventually have to have it replaced at major thousands of dollars. not a happy nissan customer and feel being ripped off that nissan are not hearing these complaints (and sad to say most won't complain and will pay thinking it is their own fault). shame shame on you nissan! *kb

I was driving 45mph and came to a red light which i stopped and when the light turned green i placed my foot on the gas and my nissan would not get past 3rd gear and jerked really bad before it would accelerate. this happens now all the time and i even had transmission fluid replaced in my car which has not prevented the issue that i am still having faulty transmission. *tr

While driving on the highway in chicago traffic last thursday my 2006 maxima began jerking and when i lightly pressed on the gas the rpm's would sky rocket, scaring me and my daughter who was a passenger. it was a very unsafe situation as it was difficult to control the speed of the car. i managed to drive at a lower constant speed to get us to our destination. i dropped the car off at my mechanic that night. he says that i need a new transmission which will cost $3,300. i have maintained my maxima according to the dealer guidelines since my husband and i purchased the car, including a recent 100k tune a few weeks ago. my mechanic says there is a technical service bulletin out on this problem but nissan is not taking any financial responsibility. it is a widespread problem with the automatic transmissions of the newer maximas. there must be an apparent engineering defect as nissan requests that the old transmission be sent to them and the replacement transmission they will send my mechanic was previously some else's transmission in which the problem has been corrected. only a limited 12 month/12k miles warranty is offered on the replacement transmission. we can not drive this unsafe car. without the repairs, the car is of little value. i am very disappointed that nissan is taking no financial responsibility for this unsafe, lemon of a car. this is our 3rd nissan and we had previously been happy customers. *tr

I bought the car after it was inspected by a nissan dealersip at 60,000 miles. the inspection showed it to be in "excellent" condition. after purchasing the vehicle, 8,000 miles later the transmission fails while i'm driving. after that i left and took the car to the mechanic when he informed me that many maxima's from 2004-2006 had the same issues. i did research and found out the majority of the maxima's had transmission malfunctions as early as 35,000 miles. i contacted the nissan dealership and told them exactly what the problem was and even gave them the codes for the malfunction given to me by a certified mechanic. they stated no matter what happens i must get a diagnosis ran from a nissan dealership. after i did the diagnosis they told me they couldn't help me because the car was out of warranty, as if i didn't know that. i told them i should receive financial assistance being that they are selling a product that does not function properly, i told them about my past, very old, nissans which ran without any issues even one reaching 200,000 miles before i decided to upgrade to a newer model, and they basically kept saying they couldn't help me. they need to take responsibility for they're actions and do a recall because it is obvious that the maximas transmission does not function properly. i also had to pay out of pocket for the diagnosis, pay to tow the car various times due to them demanding me take it to they're dealer, and i had to pay a storage fee from they're dealer. i went with nissan because i thought they were trustworthy,i would not recommend them at all. i am very dissappointed in nissan dealership buy a camry or a accord, you'll be much better off without nissan stealing from the poor. i've had about 5 nissan's and my fiance was making payments on a nissan, i am turning it in and getting a camry. will update and add the vin# soon

My vehicle began to shift violently (car would jerk roughly) from 1st to 2nd, and subsequent gear shifts (2-3, 3-4, etc.) would shift very slowly (the car's rpm's would race as the transmission delayed shifting into the next gear, then jump very hard into gear). also, when slowing to a stop, the car would remain in a higher gear without downshifting, then once stopped for a few seconds the car would violently downshift, which would cause the car to lurch forward. shifting from park or neutral to drive or reverse would take 5-10 seconds to engage, and would cause the car to again jerk and lurch violently. the final issue occurred on saturday, october 22, when the car was in drive, but no longer engaged the gear while stopped at a stoplight in busy traffic. i shut the car off and let it sit for a minute and started it again. when i did this, i was able to get first gear to engage enough to roll to a parking lot. once in the lot, the gear stopped working and no gear would engage again. i had to have the car towed to the dealership, in which they advised that the transmission would need to be replaced at my expense ($3300-3500 was the estimate) as my warrantee had expired "3 months ago". this is unacceptable, and judging by the thousands of complaints that i am seeing on the internet with the exact same issues, i am disgusted that nissan is not recalling for this issue, nor extending the warrantee coverage for a clearly defective transmission, as they did for the cvt that they offer in the newer model year maximas. these issues all occurred within a one month period. the transmission fluid was checked and found to be at the correct level and color/consistency. *tt

As numerous others have reported, nissan has a serious flaw with their transmissions that needs to be addressed. my transmission failure happened at approximately 83,000 miles. replacing my transmission and engine mounts is going to cost me $4,000. *tr

Transmission is jumping out of gear. transmission is slipping and making a hard jerk between 20-40 mph. *tr

My 2006 nissan maxima, has 74000 miles and has started showing signs of what may be serious transmission problems. 1. takes about 5 seconds to click into gear after the shift lever is put in "d" 2. very hard jerky shifts between 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 1st and accompanied by loud clunking noise. 3. transmission slips out of gear during regular driving allowing the engine to rev freely then jerking back into gear with a loud clunk. there should be a recall on this type of problem, nissan knows about this problem on 04-06 models. here are some reviews in this link :http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/maxima/9183-05-maxima-transmission-shifting-problems.html also: http://www.aboutautomobile.com/complaint/2006/nissan/maxima/automatic+transmission . *tr

My 06 maxima sl is jerking on the upshift from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd, sometimes even on the downshift. the jerking is so unpredictable and very dangerous. it's been going on for a few weeks now. i had my co workers in my car at my lunch break and the car was coming to a stop slowing down from 15 mph and the car jumped forward after downshifting from 2nd to 1st gear. my car jumped into the intersection and was almost hit by a ford 150 truck. luckily the truck swerved out of the way and it scared everyone in the car. i took it to the nissan dealership and they said they did not know what the problem was after running a diagnostics. they recommended me changing my transmission fuel. i changed my transmission fuel and the problem is still happening. this problem should be a recall. after reading online of all the thousands of people who are having the same problem i feel it's only a matter of time before i end up in a terrible accident due to the jerking of the transmission hurting my self or other people. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan maxima. the contact stated that the transmission continued to shift extremely hard when changing gears. when driving for over a period of thirty minutes, the vehicle would downshift extremely hard and rough. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who ran a diagnostic test and informed the contact that the transmission would need replacing. the manufacturer was notified and offered no assistance. the failure mileage was 98,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan maxima. the contact was driving 35 mph when the vehicle stalled. the contact took the vehicle to the dealer where the dealer diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. the failure mileage was 82,500.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan maxima. the contact stated the vehicle was violently jerking and switching between gears. the contact was awaiting a service appointment with the dealer. the manufacturer had not been notified nor was the vehicle repaired. the current and failure mileages were 73,000. the vin was unavailable.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan maxima. the contact stated that while traveling 30 mph, the vehicle failed to shift properly. the vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 106,000.

The transmission is failing and nissan customer services is rude! you can't get nissan to admit there are faulty transmissions on some of there nissan cars/trucks/suv's. i will never purchase a nissan again. it's the sensors i was told that are causing the problems. so, then you have to purchase a entire transmission because it cannot be bought alone. thank you, too mad! *tr

I have a 2006 maxima w/ 104k miles that is having the same jerking issues. in aug 2011, the car lurched and jumped so bad in traffic while slowing down. it also happens whenever i am pulling from a stop light or reversing. this issue continued and sometime i have to stop the car because i thought i was going to get into an accident. since this appears after the car is driven for about 15 minutes, i will let the car sit for a while before i drive it again. it will drive fine for a few miles and start lurching again. i took the car to our local nissan dealer and i was told that i will need to pay them $105 for an inspection. i went on to tell them the issue and the service person acted as if he does not know what i was talking about. he was sarcastic in our conversation and he told me that i may have to buy a new transmission. *tt

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan maxima. the contact was driving 35 mph when the vehicle failed to shift gears proplery. the vehicle also stalled without warning. the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who confirmed that the transmission needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was not contacted and the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 94,000 and the current mileage was 98,000.

The transmission is slipping badly in my car between 10 and 25 mph. it is a safety hazard if i am on a budy roadway because the car will stall and not move at all for several seconds sometimes. i am afraid it is going to cause me to get rearended. the problem does not happen all of the time and i really cannot pinpoint when it will happen. i have also noticed some very bad jerking when i am shifting from reverse to drive. again not all of the time and no way to figure out why it happened sometimes and not others. i have seen hundreds on complaints on the internet about the same problems in maximas between 20074 and 2006. i absolutely cannot afford to have the transmission replaced. *tr

The transmission slips, jumps out of gear between gears. often it will go to shift then it revs up not in gear instead of shifting then after a few seconds it slams hard into gear. this is not a daily constant issue it is random and sometimes will go weeks between having the issue pop up. when it pops up it will happen during that entire drive. the next time it is driven even that same day even just 15 minutes later it will not have shifting issues sometimes it does. there are many many many customers complaining about this issue with nissan transmissions. *tr

Hard shifting, transmission slipping, gearing down for no reason, etc this car is a lemon, nissan should be made to recall these cars. *tr

Beginning at 38k miles the transmission has stopped engaging properly when accelerating between 1st & 2nd gear of the automatic transmission. this occurs between 20 and 35mph and causes the vehicle to slam into gear with a force that negatively impacts the driver's ability to control the car causing an unsafe driving event. the event is as powerful as being hit from the rear while driving. the dealer charged $200 to flush the trans but this had no effect. i have made several attempts to engage the dealer but have had no response. i have investigated this problem and found it is wide spread with this models' 2005 & 2006 year vehicles but is denied by the manufacturer as a warranty coverage problem. please forward this complaint to nissan usa and request a reply. *kb

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan maxima. the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would jerk while shifting gears. the vehilce was taken to an authorized dealer and they informed her that the vehicle needed a new transmission. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 75,000. the vin was unavailable.

The automatic transmission in my nissan maxima 2006 jerks when it changes from 1st to 2nd and 3rd. this also happens when i shift from park to reverse. sometimes during acceleration, there is a 2 to 5 second delay before the car reacts which is extremely dangerous when merging into traffic. these problems usually happen after the car has warmed up and have become increasingly worse. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan maxima. the contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the transmission skipped. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the transmission fluids but the failure persisted. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was 119,000. the vin was not available.

When the vehicle is shifted from park to drive there is a hard jerk prior to engagement. *tr

From a stopped position, slowly accelerating forward or reverse, the engine speed increases without any vehicle movement when the transmission suddenly shifts or engages with a violent jolt. suddenly propelling the vehicle in a forward or reverse direction. unless immediately braking occurs the vehicle may collide with another vehicle or end up going through the rear wall of the garage. this problem has happened on numerous occasions and is now becoming much worse. a search on the internet for 2006 maxima transmission shows this to be a common problem. while it is not known if any serious accident or injury has occurred it does appear to be a safety issue. *tr

I have a 2006 nissan maxima, bought brand new fully loaded car in early 2006. after 80,000 miles on it, the car started jerking on me. had transmission fluid changed but it didnt help. recently came to know that transmission needs to be replaced, a $5000 expense. the car starts jerking when it is hot or have been driven in city for atleast 15-20 mins. the shifting of gears is difficult. it has stopped on me many times while driving, a high risk when i am on highways. when merging on highway, the increase in speed takes longer than usual, so makes it very difficult to merge. pls recall this, because it is not safe to drive and lot of people are experiencing this. *tr

2006 nissan maxima. i notice the transmission was slipping when changing gears. it also was jerking repeatedly while changing into 1st and 2nd gear and then back down from 2nd to 1st. i was told by a nissan service advisor that my car needed a transmission flush. i had the flush done on the car, problems still exist. nissan now says i need a new transmission. $3500. there are thousand of people with this same problem. this transmission should be recalled, before someone get hurt and nissan stop stealing people hard earned money. when they know something is wrong with the car. *tr

I purchased a 2006 nissan maxima in february 2011..when i purchased the car it appeared to be in good running condition..there were a few visible problems such as the headlights, running light, power seats, or windows weren't working properly..that problem was fixed and the owner agreed to fix the brakes and the remainder of the problems however almost a year later my anti brake light is still on & the dealership have not made any attempt to fix my car. 4months after having the car the speedometer stopped working and the odometer, the gas gauge goes back & forth, the service engine light remains on and the car jerks while driving and sometimes when shifting the car out of drive into reverse it jerks hard. i have quite a few friends who have maxima's also and have the same problem with their cars..it's obvious it's a defect with the transmissions, speed gauge & so many other defects with these cars. somewhere there has to be someone who can help myself as well as others who are experiencing these problems. i have read far too many complaints about these particular cars. the cost to repair these cars are expensive & not to mention the cost to have your transmission replaced & on top of all that you are still responsible for paying your car note. hopefully soon there will be a solution to this problem. thanks in advance!!! *tr

My 2006 maxima's transmission gave out at 74,000 miles of normal use. there are 1,000's of others with this same problem and most have had to pay around $3,000 out of pocket to have the transmission replaced. there are some that were fortunate to have all or most of the costs paid by nissan, even when the warranty was expired. nissan refuses to assist with my repair stating that i didn't take it to the dealership for it's regular maintenance. bbb auto line states that the vehicle is too old for them to assist in my repair cost recovery. this is a huge issue with this generation of maxima and there should be a forced recall, no matter the cost to the manufacturer. we paid a lot of money for their flagship model and we should not have to pay even more for their faulty transmissions. also, broken engine mounts seem to be high on the list of problems with this vehicle, which my maxima also has. very frustrating. need to find help in filing a class action suit against nissan. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan maxima. the contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the vehicle started to shift in and out of gear abnormally. the contact mentioned that there was a sudden increase in engines rpms. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the valve body was defective and needed to be replaced. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was not included in any recalls. the vehicle was repaired. the failure mileage was 54,000 and the current mileage was 59,000.

Automatic transmission lags during normal acceleration. hard shift from park or reverse to drive continuing to a delay before actually being able to drive. *tt

The transmission on my nissan maxima 2006 constantly jerks and makes load thumping sound when placing the car in gear especially from a dead start and when braking from highway speeds to full stop.the transmission was flushed by the dealer in 2010 it ran smooth for about a month and is now showing signs of malfunctioning each time it is driven. *tr

6/10/2011 the transmission on my 2006 nissan maxima failed without warning which prevented the car from accelerating. this was while on the turnpike in pa with traffic merging and moving at speeds of up to 75mph. luckily i was able to coast to the side of the road without getting into an accident or causing an accident. upon further research i see transmission issues are very common for this make and model car through the production years of 04-07. this is very dangerous and i can see it leading up to and including death due to an accident. the dealer i purchased the car from replaced the transmission under warranty, but i am again having issues with my transmissions showing signs of failure again. to date, my car has been in the shop for a total of 32 days for the same transmissions issue. *kb

I would like to add to the growing number of concerned consumers that are experiencing the same problem that i'm having with my 2006 nissan maxima sl transmission. i purchased this vehicle in august 09. i currently have 64,000 miles and had the vehicle less than 2yrs. and now the transmission has gone up. also to make matters worst my extended warranty expired at 57,000 miles and the expiration date is august 2012. carmax or the warranty company will not honor the policy, stating that the mileage came first. however; my experience with transmission problems started over the memorial day weekend 2011. as my family & i was driving back from south carolina my air condition went out after a very loud thrusting motion accompanied by a hard jerk. after returning home the vehicle was taken to a local repair shop who diagnosed the symptoms and not the root cause of the problem. (code #p0780) indicated that there were several things that would cause this problem. the first is gear section - shift malfunction and the second being wiring tr sensor, shift solenoids and last but not lease transmission mechanical fault. the manufacturer was contacted but have not yet responded. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 nissan maxima. while driving approximately 5 mph the contact heard a loud clanging sound and it became difficult to shift the gears. the contact stated the failure occurred intermittently and over time had become progressively worse. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technicians stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

My 2006 nissan maxima (3.5sl automatic trans) which we purchased new in 2006, experienced a complete transmission failure today while my wife was driving in rush hour traffic in the city of baton rouge. the car now has 86000mi, but the shifting/slipping began at about 77000mi. we had a fluid service done recently hoping this would cure the problem, but it did not. this was done at 84000mi. the mechanical failure while driving came within inches of her being broadsided by a one ton commercial delivery truck on the driver side. the accident was narrowly avoided thanks to the truck drivers alertness, swift reaction. please, this problem has been ongoing for far too long, to far too many maxima owners, this problem needs to be corrected before someone gets killed. i was almost a widowed father today. *tr

Upon accelerating, the vehicle lost power and harshly shifted into the next gear, surging forward and causing the operator to almost hit a vehicle in front of the vehicle. when nissan was advised i was told to have the trans replaced (not cheap). upon checking nissan forums and speaking with other owners turns out this is a common problem with nissans of the same generation, like the murano, and altima. the problem has persisted, i refuse to repair an issue that seems to be a defect, along with the power steering issue that is 'common' in these cars. *tr

For the past month, my 2006 nissan maxima has been having some problems with the transmission. when driving, as the car shift between gears 1-3, there are some loud noises and the car jerks forward with every gearshift. this is very dangerous when driving in traffic as the jerks propel the car forward between every gearshift. i did a computer diagnostic on the car and the results were that there is a problem with the valve body assembly on the transmission. i then went online and saw that there are hundreds of complaints regarding the same issue and all of the cars, were between 2005 -2008 and mileage ranged from 78000 to 95000. with all of these complaints that are online of the same problem with this car, i am surprised that there are no recalls for this particular car's problems. it is very clear that there are some major defects with this particular transmission. called a transmission repair shop and they verified the same problem with many nissan maxima cars that have been repaired at its shop. there projected repair prices range from $3000-$4000. *tr

My 2006 maxima started having transmissions problems about 1month ago ; my wife complained that the car was jerking hard when she slow down and started back driving; i took it the shop they said my motor mount needed to be replaced, so they replaced it, did not help at all; took the car back to the shop an they said it was the transmission and nissan had alot of problems with this 2006 maxima. *tr

Transmission failure under normal driving. *kb

Hello my name is [xxx] and i have a 2006 nissan maxima sl with 76k. this car has seemed to be more of a headache than anything else. here are a list of problems. 1.) transmission: jerks bad, free rev's bad, jumps from park to drive and reverse baaad. 2.) abs system: the system initiated itself and i took it to midas there scanner read that there were no problems but still (to this day) bad grinding when i brake and rubbing sound when i accelerate. (happening for 3 days now) 3.) car was making bad clicking noise while engine was on....diagnosis from dealership; timing chain $1200.00 noise is still sounding after replacement. please i have read countless forums hoping that i wasn't the only one....the transmission especially is defective please! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

I would like to add my info to the case you have open concerning the nissan maxima line of cars and the transmission. i have less than 80,000 miles on my 2006 maxima and have been experiencing transmission problems. it started with not being able to get into gear after a cold start early in the mornings, that would last about 2 minutes. after pulling out of the driveway and rolling down the hill the car would act fine. i was told a transmission flush would correct the problem from a nissan tech over the phone. now it is more serious, when placing it in gear it makes a loud thump sound. it sounds like i tearing up something and i know that will lead to more problems. the car is currently sitting in the carport making it difficult for me to get to work. i purchased the car in 08 so i am still making car notes on a vehicle that is not usable.

I purchased my 2006 nissan maxima sl on 4/12/11 and two days later started having transmission problems at 113000 miles. according to a local transmission repair shop and aamco, i will need a newly designed transmission valve body (approx $1500), new, or rebuilt transmission ($3000-$4000). car jerks into 1st gear at low speed. when looking online i saw numerous other complaints exactly like mine, indicating a problem with the vehicle transmission valve body. there appears to be an obvious systematic defect by nissan. this problem could easily occur if attempting to pass another vehicle or pulling into traffic on a freeway. this problem also qualifies as a serious safety issue as lives could be lost. nissan should recall the 2004-2006 year model maximas to ensure noone loses their life. *tr

My 2006 nissan maxima se with 84,000 miles on it is having major auto transmission problems, especially jerking into first gear when slowing down, or starting to go. i took it to a transmission specialist. nothing shows up on the computer scans, indicating the transmission has to be replaced or rebuilt. looking online, this appears to be a problem experienced by many other people, including other model years using the same transmission. the cost to repair is approx $3000.00, and appears to be a manufacturing defect, generally becoming obvious at about 65,000 miles. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 nissan maxima. the contact stated the vehicle would violently jerk when shifting from first to second gear. once the vehicle began to accelerate it would accelerate at a slower rate than usual. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was advised to flush the transmission fluid. the transmission fluid was flushed, but the failure began to recur a few days later. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. the failure and current mileages were 70,000. the vin was unavailable.

I was proceeding in my car on a major street always traveled by eighteen wheeler trucks when my transmission failed in my car. 2006 nissan maxima. the eighteen wheeler driver slammed on the brakes missing me my inches seeing i never touched my brakes, hence no brake lights.. actually i was revving the engine praying the gears would catch to possibly get me out of this situation. i could have died!!!! i was praying the whole time and i will continue to sent it to the shop to get repaired. someone will die with this type of problem. i came very close today. if someone has to die for nissan to admit this is a serious problem i hope the families get properly compensated cause i am letting the world know about this problem. i took the drivers information and another witness and had the car towed one block from the incident. *tr
