While driving on the interstate, the car slows down and will not accelerate. if i press the gas to get out of the way of on coming traffic the car skips and does not go over 40 mph. i try to get to the far lane in hope's of not being hit. i turn the car off and try to start it again and the engine light comes on, try again to start it and it slowly moves until it gains speed and i keep my hazards on, engine light goes off and it has been doing this periodically ever since.
