I was removing my sunshield from the windshield which was in between my rearview mirror and windshield. when i removed the sunshield, the windshield literally crumbled where the review mirror was attached and the rearview mirror fell off of the windshield leaving a hole the approximate size of a .50 piece. the repair service that i used stated that there have many many, many issues with the nissan windshields and there is no way that what i experienced should have caused this to happen. *tr

Our car has dark interior with a black dashboard. on high temperature days, the surface of the dashboard becomes tacky and very shiny. when it is in this condition, it affects my visibility. under certain conditions of the position of the sun, the sunlight reflects off the surface of the dashboard and into my eyes. at times, the sunlight reflects off the surface of the dashboard and onto the inside of the windshield and results in a bright reflection of the dashboard which greatly reduces visibility. from searches on internet, i have seen that this is a common problem with this make, model and year. it appears that there was a defective formulation of plastic used for dashboards on some cars produced which is causing an exudation of chemicals in high temperatures. nissan needs to find a solution to this problem. if this defect has not already contributed to an accident, it is only a matter of time before it does. *js

Car was parked in driveway and next day noticed an exterior crack on my windshield from middle of the driver's side to the center without any evidence of impact from a foreign object. size of crack is about 12"-17". *js

I purchased my car from davis-moore in wichita, kansas on june 27, 2014. i then had to have the windshield replaced in january because of a "stress fracture crack." that windshield cracked in early april (at least eighteen inches) but dealer says it is from a rock chip, so they won't replace. the rock chip they claim caused the crack is barely detectable. i parked my vehicle in the garage in the evening, it turned cold overnight, and the next morning the crack was there. *tr

2013 nissan altima. consumer writes in regards to defrost system problem. *smd the consumer noticed a severe defrosting problem in early december 2013. after two separate inspections, the consumer was informed the air conditioner system shut down when the temperature dropped below 35 degree and that was how the vehicle was designed, and there was nothing that could be done. the consumers wife had 2 near misses, due to not being able to see out of the window. *jb

Nissan seriously needs to issue a recall! i have a brand new 2013 nissan altima (less than 2 months old) and i was at a drive thru waiting for my food when all of a sudden, my windshield cracked. the crack is very large and it's on the bottom right hand side of the windshield by the passenger seat. nothing even hit the windshield to cause it to crack and i had a passenger in the car at the time this occurred to confirm that. i cannot believe i have to replace a windshield of a car i just bought less than 2 months ago. i'm actually scared to replace it because i don't want the same thing to happen again. if you google "altima windshield cracked for no reason" you will see that there has been numerous complaints from altima owners about this issue for the last couple of year. however, nothing has been done to resolve it. please investigate to see if there is a design flaw that is causing extra stress on the window. i've never had to replace a windshield or have seen one crack right in front of me without anything striking it. updated 10/22/13 *cn updated 10/29/13*cn

Dear nhtsa, please investigate if the windshields on 2013 nissan altima's are defective in nature. that is, do these windshields have a propensity to easily crack possibly due to weakness or defective manufacturing? our brand new altima which has less than 3000 miles suffered a crack windshield passenger side. other drivers have also reported similar incidences, see: http://www.carcomplaints.com/nissan/altima/2013/windows_windshield/windshield_cracked.shtml this does not appear to be an isolated incident and could be a result of a weak windshield, please investigate. *tr

When the sunroof is opened and you're driving it rattles like crazy. it sounds like there is something loose in the sunroof and whenever you go over a bump or an angle it gets worse. i had this issue on a hyundai sonata and after 6 months of this horror, i finally was able to get rid of the car.. i am not going down this avenue again with this car.. get a fix for it! *tr

After i bought the car i noticed the driver's side rear view mirror was vibrating while driving at all speeds. then the dealer replaced the mirror several times until they fixed the vibrating problem. but now, the mirror they replaced it with seems to be a generic mirror, seems like a convex mirror and the objects and view look deformed. it isn't a flat mirror and the dealer said that is normal and all the cars have that same mirror. that is a lie because when they changed my very first mirror due to vibrating, it was flat and clear. this issue has not been solved but now they replaced 2 sensors that are on recall and waiting for a third sensor on the driver's airbag to be replaced as well due to recall. i am so tired of going back and forth to the dealer that i am finally going to file a complaint, this car is a lemon! (2013 nissan altima sv -pearl white). *tr

Driver' side rear view mirror vibrates while driving at all speeds. i have taken my car several times to several different dealers to replace the mirror and mirror housing and problem has not been fixed. mirror continues to vibrate. also, i got several letters of recalls on this car, such as the sensors on the airbags and the spare tire being over-inflated. also, the airbag light has turned on twice and does not turn off, even while driving. i do not feel safe in this car at all, this car is a lemon. *tr
