We have classified the 10 complaints from 2004 Nissan 350Z about FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE into the following categories.
I have a 2004 350z nissan i bought used in 2007 @ 16k miles. i'm unable to fill the fuel tank completely. apparently the fuel nozzle sensor detects the tank as filled when it is not. before tank fuel gauge shows 3/4 filled @ 12-13 gallons when nozzle shuts off randomly. otherwise i could fill up no problem. however, now it's only allowing about 1/2 tank to fill (about 7 gallons) consistently. i'm having to refuel several times in any given week. nothing has been replaced on the car yet, but i understand that there was a recall that i was unaware of. *tr
My nissan 350z the gas gauge is currently not working. i can fill my car to capacity and within a day the light indicator for empty is on. i was informed that there was a recall for this problem and i never received a notice. *tr
The fuel gauge in my 2004 nissan 350z fluctuates up and down. it happens after fueling, and upon driving the car. i have taken the car to 2 different nissan service depts. for repair. the first time, they said it was a faulty fuel sensor, and replaced it. they said it was fixed, but when i drove it, the gauge fluctuated again. took it back, but they said there was nothing wrong with it and couldn't do anything else since there were no codes coming from the computer. so took my car to a 2nd nissan serv. dept and they said they fixed it by replacing the other fuel sensor (since there are 2), but still faulty. i do not know how much gas i have in my tank at anytime. it is most dangerous while driving and the fuel tank empty warning light suddenly comes on, after the gauge had just reflected that there was plenty of fuel. *tt
Tl* the contact inquired about a 2004 nissan 350z. the contact stated that after refueling, the fuel gauge displayed a reading of being of the way full. upon driving, the fuel gauge began to fluctate up and down. the contact expressed concern about not knowing how much fuel was in the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the failure was due to the fuel level sensor. the vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 75,000. updated 08/31/2011 *ln *tr
My 350z has a problem with the gas gauge when its below the 1/4 at start it will display no gas but the dte will display 75-90 miles left. don't understand this problem has seen a lot of forms but no recall yet or dealers don't know what to do. have ran out of gas a lot of times. thank god never on the freeway or on a busy street. nissan has to know about this its affecting a lot of z owner. and its dangerous. *tr
Nissan 350z have a fuel gauge problem in which many are experiencing. when the gauge reaches below 1/4 tank full it will show as empty. once the car is turned off the gauge will show as empty even when fuel is in it. the in accuracy of the gauge leads to people over filling their tanks with gas. it has lead to cars running out of fuel on highways. and it has caused dealerships to not know how to fix the issue or over charge on trouble shooting issue they have no idea how to handle. this issue deals with fuel and it is unsafe for we cannot determine how much fuel we have which can lead to over pumping and/or running out of fuel on highways. *tr
I can't fill up no more then 5 gallons when the gas gauge is reading empty. the gas tank will refuse fuel and overflow out of the filler causing it to get all over the body. i hate to make frequent stops for gas again and again.. i searched on multiple forums and there are a lot of people that are going through the same issue with there cars and even the newer models which is ridiculous. i think this technical issue should be resolved. *tr
Fuel system. cannot filled fuel tank completely. replaced filler neck per recall and fuel tank sensor. worked for a short term and now the tank will not fill completely. averages 4-6 gallon short. *tr
I have a 2004 nissan 350z touring edition, i been having a problem with the gas gauge from what i have noticed is when the gauge is below the half it starts fluctuating from e to about a 1/4 or even to 1/2 tank. when i turn the car on and off it starts off at empty and will slowly make it way up to what ever it wants this problem has been going on with these car for a number of years but nothing has been done from nissan. so i never really know how much gas i really have i thinks a very dangerous problem to have because what about if you need to pull out into traffic and your car cut's off because it has no gas. game over right!!! *tr
The fuel gauge en the speedoometer does not tell the correct amount of gas in the car. it says there is fuel when the care is actually empty causing me to get out of gas for several times. i took it to the dealership and they told me the only way to repare it is to change the whole speedometer, and that the cost of it is almost a $1,000.00. this is a lot of trouble for me because i have to fill up the car every 2 to 3 days so the car doesn,t leave me with out fuel. *tr
The fuel gauge doesn't accurately reflect the amount of gasoline in the fuel tank. examples include when the fuel tank is filled to the point of overflowing, the fuel gauge randomly reports, 3/4, 1/2 1/4 and sometimes empty. the fuel gauge randomly reports different fuel levels each time the ignition is turned on. further research of the described matter on various online 350z forums indicate the same problem exists for many other 350z owners, which indicates a product defect. the forum that follows is one of many examples: http://my350z.com/forum/maintenance-and-repair/501507-fix-for-gas-gauge-fluctuations-hard-to-fill.html. *tr
Unable to fill the fuel tank. apparently, the fuel nozzle sensor detects the tank as filled when it is not. tank fuel gauge shows 3/4 filled when nozzle shuts off. this problem was reported a year ago and dealer replaced tank and fuel sensor which made problem go away for a year. now it is back. *jb
I live in alaska and nissan 350z does not start and/or want to start in any weather under 10 degrees. the car door will not close, and gas cap does not want to open. the car has been prepared for winter.*ak
When refueling with tank less than half full the automatic stop mechanism of the nozzle is triggered. i must wait 20-30 seconds, then i can complete refueling process. this happens every time i fill up the car.*ak
The vehicle idled rough wheather the vehicle was hot or cold. the consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle and drove it to the dealer for inspection. the mechanic determined that fuel injectors needed to be replaced. *ak *nm
