While pulling in a parking space car speeded up and took off. cosumer's foot was on brake and pushed it to floorboard, crashed into sears wall, and none of airbags deployed. *ak
Unintentional excelleration when applying the brakes at very low speed
Since purchase of the vehicle, surging forward while driving or braking has been an ongoing problem. the first occurrence was within the first 30 days of purchase. dealer worked on car and indicated problem was corrected. the car has repeatedly had the problem, despite multiple trips for repair. most recent service (august), we were advised there was a computer chip that needed to be reprogrammed. the car was returned, allegedly repaired, however, the problem continues. this vehicle is frequently driven with a small child as passenger and this type of safety defect is certainly problematic. we have gotten no satisfaction from the dealer of purchase nor from a different mitsubishi dealer in town. coincidentally, while in for most recent service, another customer was there with the same problem and had also purchased her mirage from ricart megmall.
While holding brake pedal enigine suddenly accelerated into a pole. this has happened twice. second time a garage door was hit. air bags did not deploy in either incident. *ak there was a recall ( 00v311001) for possible loose crank shaft pulley bolt and the dealer reinstalled it. *yh
