Decemebr 23, 2018 i was involved in an accident on a freeway, where all the traffic suddenly came to a stop from 50 mph. as i pressed my breaks it was as though they almost didn't work causing me to strike the vehicle in front of me. the abs light then became lit, all air bags were deployed and the car was determined totaled by my insurance company and i was not at fault.

I have experienced at least 5 brake failures where the brake pedal went to the floor. i have had 3 master cylinder replacements and have taken the car to a certified mechanic multiple times trying to fix the problem. after finding out about safety recall sr-15-004, i took vehicle to mitsubishi dealership to have the recall repaired on 6/15/18. they flushed out the abs system and replaced dot 3 brake fluid with dot 4, ran abs system test and it came out "ok no repair to abs needed at this time." since then, i have experienced 7 more brake failures where the pedal went to the floor. my certified mechanic was finally able to re-create the incident, which seems to happen after, not during, braking over rough road surfaces. the brake pedal usually comes right back up after a few seconds or minutes, and is fine until another braking incident over rough road. there are no codes delivered at all during these instances. my mechanic and i both are convinced that these occurrences are related to the recall problem of deterioration inside the abs unit, as no other brake problems exist. this has been happening ...

I was driving on a dead end street and the brakes went all the way to the floor and i had no stopping or slowing down even with pumping the brakes i had the brakes checked a month prior to this because the brake and abs light would come on randomly and the technician at morries mazda reported to me they were operational.. i ended up hitting a tree (my choices were a line of cars or a tree, so i picked the tree) with the brake malfunction and no air bags deployed at around 30 plus mph. and i sustained injuries. when i looked at the brakes it appeared that the front passenger side brake was the only operational brake as it was the only rotor to not have accumulated a high amount of rust.

My 2008 eclipse had an open recall on issues with abs for over a year. after a year i was finally notified that the parts were available to fix the issue. after much hassle dealing with the local deal i took my car in for repair. the service center claimed to have fixed the problem. however now my car is no leaking brake fluid from the abs. i contacted customer service and was told i need to take the car to a service center to be looked at. normally no issue that the local dealership recently closed and the next closest one is over 100 miles away. as my car is leaking brake fluid it has been deemed unsafe to drive. i was told i would have to pay to have the car towed to a service center to be looked at but they would not guarantee that it would be fixed. as this is a known problem with abs system and an open recall this is totally unacceptable. customer service told me it was not their concern on getting the car to be fixed and it did not matter ...
