Tl-the contact owns a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse. the contact stated that another vehicle that was driving at 70 mph and crashed into her vehicle causing the vehicle to crash into the vehicle in front. the seat belt failed to retract and the air bags failed to deploy. as a result, the contacts head hit the windshield and bruised her legs. the contact did not require medical attention. the vehicle was towed to the contacts house. a police report was filed. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 156,000. djr

Tl*the contact owns a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse. while driving between 45-55 mph, the contact attempted to avoid another vehicle and some approaching deer. as a result, she crashed into some trees and the air bags failed to deploy. the vehicle was destroyed and the contact was injured. the current and failure mileages were 148,000.

While driving approximately 50 mph, the steering failed when attempting to steer to the right. the vehicle went across a median into oncoming traffic and crashed into a guard rail. the air bag did not deploy. the driver was transported to the emergency room for injuries to the back, neck, and knee. the cause of the failure has not been determined. please provide further details. *ph

Srs light for airbags come on intermittently. *ak consumer states that the passenger side air bags have been replaced twice, the side seatback air bag has been replaced once, air bag computer has been replaced once, and the driver side seatback air bag has been replaced once, vehicle was purchased by mitsubishi for lemon law. *jb

Violent deployment of the air bag caused eye injury to the driver, the consumer may have sustained permanent injury to the left eye. nlm

Vehicle was involved in a side collision from another vehicle at a impact of 30 mph. upon impact, air bags did not deploy. dealer/manufacturer were not contacted at this time.*ak *slc

Consumer was traveling about 40mph on highway and another vehicle made a left turn in front of consumer's vehicle. when consumer applied brakes vehicle crashed into the other vehicle. upon impact, driver's side airbag didn't deploy. there were minor injuries. *ak both the driver and passenger side air bag failed to deploy. *yh

Vehicle has been to the dealer 3 times because srs light were coming on. consumer was in an accident on 04-may-2001, and airbas didn't deploy. consumer was traveling 30 mph and a motorcyle hit front driver's side. it flipped off onto windshield, breaking on impact. mitsubishi hasn't responded to consumer.*ak

Driver seriousely injured as result of seat failure, driver throwen back and then forward in rear end crash, seat belt useless and air bags did not open. *ak
