Tl*the contact owns a 2001 lincoln town car executive. the contact stated that the drivers side door handle does not return to its fully closed position and would not remain closed, causing the door to open while the vehicle was in motion. the failure was similar to nhtsa campaign id number 08v058000 (latches/ locks/ linkages doors, latch). the manufacturer was aware of the failure; however they informed the contact that her model was not involved in the previous recall and to take the vehicle to a local dealer for diagnostic testing. the vehicle was not repaired nor was a diagnostic test done due to the cost. the current mileages were approximately 84,000 and the failure mileages were approximately 70,000.
