Tl* the contact owns a 2000 lincoln navigator. during brake application at 10 mph, the brake pedal fell to the floor-board. consequently she crashed into another vehicle. the vehicle was taken to a local repair facility, in which the mechanic attempted to make repairs. however, while in the shop the vehicle caught on fire while idling. the fire department extinguished the flames. the fire report states that fire was caused by brake booster failure. all the plastic components of the braking system and brake lines were destroyed. no repairs were made to the vehicle. the current and failure mileages were under 190,000. the vin was not available.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 65 mph, the brakes on the vehicle completely failed causing the contact to lose control of the vehicle. this incident occurred on dry highway road.

Brakes are not working properly, stopping distance has increased, and braking becomes very difficult at any time and speed. contacted dealer, and dealer has tried to remedy the problem, but remedy did not work.*ak

While driving there was total brake failure due to a broken brake disc which may have caused a crash. also, problem with transmission which caused vehicle to stall unexpectedly. *ak

Exiting car wash (wash rack) onto pavement, shifting from neutral to drive with foot on brake pedal, car lurched forward with inability to stop with 4 wheel drive fully engaged without driver initiating. failure in both braking mechanism and 4 wheel drive control systems causing loss of control of vehicle while it accelerated until stopped by turning off ignition. *ak
