2008 lexus is250 (vin [xxx]). received a recall on dashboard. crown lexus in ontario california approved the replacement of dashboard as well as all doors in october (?) 2015. i have been calling the dealer multiple times, but still unknown when the parts will come in. i have called lexus directly on estimate time to ship out parts, but they never provided any answer. i am hoping to sell the car, but resale value would be affected by this not to mention the glare causes safety concern. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

My navigation touch screen stopped working on my is250 with normal consumer operation. i started noticing hundreds of other lexus vehicle owners complaining about the same issue. they did nothing to cause this issue and maintain their cars well. in fact, all the service done on my car including a recent update to the navigation system driving directions has been done by the san diego lexus dealership. they have been servicing my car since i purchased it from them new in 2008. in my research i have found that their is a defect in that there is a faulty connector on the touch panel. the touch panel is a 4-wire resistive panel, taped to the lcd display. there's a four wire ribbon cable that is improperly bonded to the touch panel. lexus quoted me $2,800 to fix this problem that is a common problem and a defect in their manufacturing. in my opinion lexus should take responsibility for this issue as they provided faulty equipment with hundreds of consumers having the same issue with lexus. the consumer stated the dealer resolved the problem. the consumer would like the complaint, removed from the website. updated 07/10/13 *tr
2 months after my warranty ended my touch screen went out. i talk with my service representative at northside lexus and he told me unfortunately the only resolution was to replace it but it would cost 50% of the labor and parts. i told him this was a defective item due to the screen suddenly went out while i was starting the car. for a 30k vehicle, you would think that toyota would own up to this issue and the other issue i complained on with the melting of the interior doors and dashboard. i thought the dealership since they had numerous complaints would be loyal to their customers would step in and say they would take care of it but silly me who thought there is still some loyalty in this world. my family has bought 6 new lexus vehicles and all was happy until we slowly started seeing different issues arise. i guess toyota and northside lexus doesn't mind loosing loyal customers! *tr
