There is an electronic computer that controls the abs brakes on toyota/lexus and if it goes bad it can cause you to lose your brakes! my wife and i almost crashed! when the brakes went out, they felt squishy and check engine light, vsc, lights went on. then the brakes got real sensitive, i either got it to come to screeching stop in traffic or barely come inches from rear ending the car in front of us.
