Takata recall: the recall should most definitely included the airbag wiring harness, i had no issues with my airbag light until i place my car back in the shop to get the recall a day later the airbag light came on and will not go out. i took it back to lexus and they notified me that the it had nothing to do with the part they just replaced. however it was not on prior too. the are getting a diagnostic myself i was informed that the wiring harness was bad and my airbags would not deploy, in an accident. this a major safety concern, and a well known issue to happen to the lexus is 250, this is a direct link with the takata recall and something that should be cover by lexus. faulty air bags are not a customers fault. air bags where placed in cars for life saving protection, to not include this is the recall is a death sentence for the drivers and there family who are having this problem.

Lexus has a wide know issue with melting dashboards and door panels. my dashboard is melting. it creates a glare when driving, it houses critical electrical components that can pose a huge safety hazard. i drive this car daily and frequently transport passengers such as family and friends. lexus refuses to do anything about it. car interior repair shops have no solution to this problem. lexus acknowledges that this problem is widespread but is not doing anything to prevent tragedy from occurring. the condition continues to get worse to the point that mechanics are refusing to work on anything that requires have to lay hands on the dashboard because it is literally melting and falling apart. they don't want to be held responsible for any further damage. this poses another safety risk as i can not fix any problems behind the dashboard at all if mechanics are refusing to do work on it. i have exhausted all search efforts looking for a solution. i am genuinely concerned about my safety and others. lexus has manufactured thousands upon thousands of these vehicles and they continue to be driven on the public roads. please help.

We had our lexus smogged and the airbag light was on when we picked it up. we took it to the lexus dealer and they said it is the wiring harness. $3500 to repair. this is not a component that is supposed to fail, so lexus should be responsible for the fix.

As i was about to park the car on a city street. the electrical steering suddenly failed. it became extremely difficult to turn the wheel. it could be the connectors of the electrical steering cause the sudden loss.

Airbag indicator on dash randomly comes on then goes off. this happened again most recently on 10-20-15. apparently this is due to a defective wiring harness from the manufacturer effecting 2006 to 2008 vehicles, which when in a failed state disables the airbag system entirely......updated 12/07/15*bf contact noticed airbag light would intermittently illuminate on the instrument panel for the last 5 yrs or so. updated 4/24/18*jb updated 05/17/18*jb

Te car is flood inside because theres a ac drain block and this produce melt and smelles and da,ages and oxident the floor. and electrical cables can make a electrical failure amd activated the airbags. *tr

Vehicle (2006 lexus is250 w. 62,000 miles) with an illuminated airbag light due to a faulty wiring harness. this is a known problem that lexus acknowledges but refuse to fix without charging (out of warranty) owners over $3,500. there is even a technical service bulletin ("tsb") issued for this problem, the tsb number is l-sb-0167-08. this is an outrageous expense and a recall should have been issued. this directly compromises the safety of the drive, passengers and other parties in the even of an accident. *tr

Hi, with all the news lately regarding the problems with "sticking" gas pedals on certain toyota models, i wanted to emphasize that i don't believe the problem is limited to toyotas. i had e-mailed you previously to describe similar problems my wife and i have had with our 2006 is 250, where the car felt like it wanted to lurch forward with our foot on the brake pedal. additionally, the tachometer needle was fluctuating while this was happening. our car even died once at a stop light for no apparent reason. there is a record of our taking the car into putnam lexus for inspection of this problem. we never did receive a response from lexus to our first e-mail. and, we do not feel that a creeping floor mat was the cause of the problems we were experiencing. we feel that the problems we've described need to be investigated further since it is safety related. i just tried four times to send this description to lexus through their online e-mail system but kept getting, "operation failed, illegal parameters." *tr
