Faulty ecu computer resulting in hard jerk when shifting between first and second gear. the engine repair unit goes bad after 100,000 miles. multiple vehicles reported the issue after experiencing fuel induction problems and oil loss related to bad .gaskets. car started jerking on the highway cause a rear end bumper collision while intraffic.
2006 gs 300 is experiencing a down shift problem, when coming to a complete stop on highway or street the car transmission bumps slightly then jerks hard prior to completely stopping. lexus suggested replacing the transmission which already took place at 80k. i noted a technical bulletin stated this problem within 80k but the problem that's occurring after 80k. if the problem existed in my gs only, i'd fix the problem and move forward but i've read a few articles from different lexus owners siting the same issue which leads me to believe this is a pre existing issue that i believe lexus should take responsibility for before passing the cost on to customers that paid out close to 50k for this car.
Excessive oil consumption. vehicle burns 3 1/2 qts of oil or more every 1500 miles. causing my plugs to foul out and check engine code (0300) multiple cylinder misfire causing car to have sluggish acceleration. i took car in to charles barker lexus and was charged a diag fee and then told the car is burning oil internally and would be $4100 plus parts for further diag. lexus offered a customer support program for stated issues for 9 years w/ no mileage limitations of which i was never informed of and was within time frame to qualify. at the time i was unaware of the program and now lexus is telling me my vin # does not fall under that program and my vehicle is experiencing all of the identical issues. also transmission solenoid failed causing hard jolt when slowing down before stopping. fixed solenoid only to then have to replace cars computer. the transmission repair mechanic informed me of the ongoing problems with lexus transmissions and computer failure for the 2006 gs 300 as well as a class action law suite that was filed because of the same issues excessive oil consumption. i have since contacted lexus informing them of my issues and they decline to address my issues telling me that my vehicle vin # does not fall under any recalls. i have spent over $2000 replacing the transmission solenoid and i had the cars computer rebuilt vs spending the additional money to replace it. lexus denies the issues stated that is well documented on the forums pages and refuses to refund me for monies spent as well as refuses to address excessive oil consumption issues when they just settled a class action lawsuit for the same issues stated and offered a customer support program to pay for the cost of repairs for a period of 9 yrs with no mileage limitations. i have documentation for my repairs and looking for assistance in what action i need to take for this matter.
No 2 cyclinder no compression posible valve spring failure my car experience flashing check engine
When making right hand turns and applying heavy throttle, engine braking or torque management engages causing the car to forcefully resist acceleration. happens on wet or snowy roads or dry conditions. this control system also keeps the rear wheels turning when braking in slippery/snowy and icy conditions, even when completely stopped. i've almost been hit several times when trying to merge into heavy traffic in right hand turns. flooring it causes the car to basically try to stop itself. the snowy conditions issue has causes my car to try to slide to the right, into a ditch or other car several times in one 15 minute trip, to where i took the car and parked it due to being so afraid. i'm a veteran in driving in snow, so this isn't a driver issue. i wouldn't expect this out of any brand of car, especially a lexus. *tr
