Re my 2007 lexus es 350 vin # [xxx] & a national recall issued. i have owned this vehicle for a year & a half, and during that time, we experienced an issue with the dash where it was melty, sticky, &had major issues. recently, i was an interior shop, having a sear repaired, and they made me aware of a recall for the dashboards. i contacted my local lexus dealership, lexus of austin, in june 2017, and they told me that i had missed the national recall deadline by three weeks and were no longer repairing those. as i was definitely having an issue with this during the warranty recall term, i am asking that this be taken care of under the recall warranty. i contacted lexus of austin &discussed this, they were very abrupt &not very helpful, & told me i should have gotten it in earlier. when i told him i was not made aware of this earlier, he said that i had not had my car at their dealership, so they wouldn't have known how to contact me. i take issue with this fact, as i've owned several other makes of vehicles, in which there have been warranty recalls, in which the vehicle manufacturer has contacted me by mail, utilizing vehicle registration information, as those vehicles had never been at their dealerships either. the vehicle's dash is sticky &melting, &has developed a sheen to it, &when driving in the sunlight, it produces a reflection on the windshield, obstructing views and distracting the driver?s eye. this is not just a cosmetic issue, but a safety issue. lexus is held in the highest esteem in the automotive community, & i've heard nothing but good things - but that has not been my experience. i want to handle this directly through the warranty recall, rather than an attorney &seeking litigation. Dashboard melting. *tr

Hello, we own a 2007 lexus sedan and love everything about the car except for the dashboard. it has started to melt and have become sticky. the reason for my complain here is because it has become a driving hazard since the sun is always bright in texas and the sticky dashboard glares onto my windscreen making driving really difficult and wanted to file a complain since i tried to get it fixed from lexus and they are charging me $1000 for replacing it. it is manufacturers defect and i am not ready to pay for their mistake. the fact is i still have extended warranty with lexus but dash is not covered in that. please look into this matter. *tr

Dashboard melt when the temperature reach 80 degree which is most days of the year in florida, couple of month ago the melting dashboard is causing a severe glare that make visibility difficult, as a result it is a hazard to drive this car every day or for more than one hour at the time or the temperature is 80 degree or higher. lexus refused to remedy the defect in the past and now that many people are complaining lexus is saying the do not have enough parts to replace all the melting dashboard. meanwhile i can be killed in a car accident and lexus could care less. i have three young children, safety and visibility are essential to drive my car. i no longer feel safe in my lexus es350 2007 and i lost my trust in the brand name. i need your help in remedy my hazard/safety issue caused intestinally by lexus knowing florida has a higher temperature than most other states. *tr

On 07/2009 we took our 2007 lexus es350 in for service with 20k miles. it was being taken in for a brake problem, faulty visor and vehicle tilted/leaning. i was advised that the brakes had 1mm left (near brake failure). a lexus tech replaced the brakes, visor and confirmed that the vehicle was tilted/leaning. since then the vehicle returned several times for service including but not limited to the following: brakes and tilt/leaning. the brakes were replaced again and another tech confirmed that the vehicle was tilted/leaning with visual and physical inspection. the tech measured from the wheel well to the ground. the dealer replaced the front suspension but the results were the same. the vehicle is still tilted/leaning and now lexus is refusing to fix it and stated, they have done all they can do to fix it. after i complaint that the vehicle is unsafe a corp field tech was sent to inspect the vehicle. the field tech also confirmed that the vehicle was tilted/leaning and stated that they don't currently have a remedy for this problem. the vehicle currently has 25k miles. due to the statement above it leads me to believe the this is a manufacture defect. *tr

Sticky dashboard cannot be repaired due to manufacturer defect

Visibility around the car is very difficult. front posts are large and closer to the driver, blocking more of the field of view. the high backend blocks rear view and the large posts on either side of the rear window add significantly to the blind spots. because of the visibility issue, i have had numerous close calls that could have resulted in serious harm to others and damage to my car. i have had to significantly change my driving habits to accommodate what i believe to be a design weakness in the car. the car feels unsafe to me and i wish i had never bought it. if i could afford to sell it i would in a new york second. i am a 17 year toyota customer who has owned 5 of their products, on this one the design stinks. i rank it "fair" only because it has other features and performance that are quite good, but they don't offset the visibility problems. i love toyota/lexus, but i hate the es350. *tr
