Just purchased my car in july 2018. was a previous leased car with reguiar maintenance. i was driving on the highway and my car suddenly would not shift gears no pickup in the car. luckily i was able to pull to side of the road to prevent an accident and turn car off and back on again. check engine light came on. was able to drive to an authorized land rover dealer to which they state turbocharger has an internal defect and a common problem with my make and model car.

((((exact same story as another report filed: nhtsa id number:11076170))) . i got to a red light, turned green i go, get up to 25mph, car cuts out (complete loss of power). *my engine light is now on. i get the car to start i immediately turn around to get home. * my car looses all power and shuts off in the freeway home. * i finally get the vehicle home, and my husband ran diagnostics. - the computer is saying it is the variable valve timing control solenoid issue. * my car only has @80,000 miles on it, and should not have this issue. . **this is a huge safety concern. * i haven't contacted corporate jaguar land rover yet. this seems to be a very big reoccurring issue, with this year/make/model, and it seems like land rover is doing nothing about it. . looks like it may be time to lawyer up, and set up a class action! . semper fidelis

The turbo failed at 42000 miles, was replaced under warranty by range rover of portland. the turbo has failed again at 84000 miles. both failures occurred while driving on a highway passing another vehicle at approximately 65 mph. i have been advised by an authorized range rover repairman. messer autowerks of kennewick, wa. that the turbos for the evoque and lr2 have a design flaw, there is an internal component that breaks off and causes the turbo to fail. i researched with your website and range rover there is no recall in place for my model an year

I was driving to work with my baby in the back seat. i got to a red light, turned green i go, get up to 40mph, car cuts out (complete loss of power). the person behind me swirves off the road to miss me. i am stuck in the middle of hwy 17 (very busy) the road for 5 minutes trying to reatart. my engine light is now on. i get the car to start i immediately turn around to get my car and my baby home. i am up to 55mph still on hwy 17 in jacksonville nc. my car looses all power and shuts off, and the cars behimd me slams on brakes and there air bags come out. nothing was hit, but it was close. i took it to land rover in wilmington nc they are saying it is the variable valve timing control solenoid. the mechanic ryan told me that this happens a few times a year, and he has worked on many with the same issue. my car only has 60,000 miles on it, and should not have this issue. this is a huge safety concern of mine, me and my child could have been hurt. i contacted corporate jaguar land rover and told them of the issue i had and they said there is nothing they can do. this is a reoccurring issue, and nothing is being done about it, and if i wouldnt have thought fast during my incident i could have lost my life or even worse my childs.

Eco start/stop is not working. the rear seats since day 1 been rattling. the dealer wrapped the hook with something to make it tight.

Gearbox fault. i drive a new range rover evoque, model 2015. the first time i had this problem with the vehicle was in october, 2014, only a month after taking the car out of the dealership. while driving the vehicle, it suddenly and abruptly stopped in the middle of a busy road. cars behind me had to stop abruptly, almost hitting my car and pedestrians. my vehicle accused a gearbox fault, and the gearbox was blocked. i could not shift gears, the vehicle was stuck for over half an hour, and i had to restart the car several times to be able to drive it again. my car was then taken to land rover service for repair. when the vehicle was returned to me, however, the gearbox problem persisted. the same gearbox problem happen again two more times in june, 2015. in the last times i was inside my garage. i got in the car and started the vehicle, but i could not shift gears. the gearbox was blocked again, accusing the gearbox fault, and the car was stuck. this time it had to be towed away to land rover service. in the last time land rover repaired my vehicle, a new software was installed. the service representative stated that there is a recall in the united states for the evoque model. apparently, land rover used faulty gearboxes, and is now offering a software upgrade to all vehicles of that model to fix the faulty gearboxes. over 36,000 thousand vehicles were recalled outside the u.s. for the software upgrade, after the problem was reported in the media. but i found no confirmation of the recall in the united states. land rover did not contact us about the recall before, and was unable to answer whether or not it is an effective solution to the gearbox fault problem with the evoque model.
