I took the car into kia dealership in cape coral, fl. engine light on. the car kept stalling and would lose all power while driving. i wanted service done on it and all recalls fixed. they fixed recalls and put a new catalytic converter in it to solve the engine from stalling and lose power. they told me the car was fixed. i picked it up and drove it on the hwy and it stalled at 75mph and totally had nothing and had to maneuver the car off the hwy with my grand kids in the car. i managed to get it started to get it home and it stalled again at all the stop signs and was almost t-boned from the side. it happens when the converter heats up and the fuel is not feed into engine right. it was towed back to kia and they told me the engine has metal shavings in the oil from the convert getting hot. i cant believe they let me drive this car off the lot knowing that there is a recall # sc176... i almost got killed with my family in the car. i spoke with corporate and they refuse to help me even though the recall exists!! i was hung up on during the conversation with a consumer affairs mgr. named kayla... she told me the car is out of warranty and i would have to pay for a new engine! recall# sc176!! i need help! the car is still at the dealership since my family was in the car when it kept dying on the road and we almost was killed or in a very serious accident. kia is not honoring sc176 even though it states on my invoice that the car needs a new engine because of the converter failure. its printed on the invoice with the work that was done on it. engine light is still active and the car sits. i took the car into kia to service it and all they did was the oil change w metal....and converter recall. but it was to late the damage has been done from the recalls overheating. they say its not throwing the right code for a new engine so they wont fix it. i talked to 3 people .

Our kia soul has 65000 miles on it and the oil has been changed regularly, did an oil change last week and was missing 3 quarts of oil and found metal shavings in the oil pan. the engine light is on and engine knocking. took to kia and said there is a gdi failure and needs a motor and they will not replace under warranty. car has bee very well cared for an not abused. symptoms match related problems on kias sould with 1.6 liter.

Check engine light turned on, took it to auto zone for a diagnostic. error code read p0420 catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank1) then the next day the check engine light was not on anymore.

We had the car engine replaced under warranty in aug 2018. on may 27, 2019 as we were driving the car on vacation, we smelt some gasoline. later after we filled 5 gallons of gas and driving less than 5 miles, suddenly the car stalled in stop and go traffic. the fuel indicator said there was gas left but actually it was empty. adding gas from can started the car and soon we noticed big gas leak. opening the engine cover showed the fuel line was spewing gas over the hot engine. this is a big fire risk and thankfully, we caught it before the car caught on fire. we pushed the fuel line back into the fuel pump but the end connector is broken. no idea why it broke on its own so soon after engine replacement. i have attached picture showing the broken end. we did not take picture as it was spewing gasoline when we opened the cover as we were too scared about the engine catching fire and quickly tried to fix the fuel pipe back and wiped the spilt gasoline and let everything dry.

I recieved a recall letter the recall number is 19v120 i went over too the kia dealer, van devere kia, akron ohio west market st, prior to going for recall nothing was going on with my car no lights coming on or anything it have very low miles and every time i go there they try too sell me a new car, any way went on a friday in may that monday the indicator lamp came on{ engine} took it over they said they had no time too check it and if it not flashing its safety issue, a few days later the light went out but i did notice that the car is using more gas, on monday 6-3-2019 the light was back on so i went over they had 2 cars in the bay and the guy said they had no time too look at it by the way this guy been rude too me since i told him i did not want too buy a new car, he said i could come wed but i had too work have appt on monday the 10th but this is not right my car been using a lot more gas and it seem too be iddle very high when i start it up, when i got off work stopped at a auto zone to get a read out on the light and it showed that reprogram the powertrain control module the code was po50a. not happy with this car dealer i go there for all repairs i have 23045 miles 2014 soul.

Loud pop in the engine while traveling ~70 mph. car began to lose speed, check engine light turned up, then smoke started coming from the engine compartment. pulled over to middle median on i-75 n and the engine compartment started on fire with 20-ft high flames. the car was fully engulfed. usaa has claimed the car and began a fire inspection. a/c had been off at the time of the pop. only the radio was on.

Vehicle in motion, driving in a parking lot at approximately 12mph when the engine stalled. engine failed to restart after several attempts. initial diagnosis and repair from kia dealership said internal damage to fuel pump. less than one hour after picking vehicle up noted noise from engine during acceleration and check engine light came on. took the car back to the dealership and dtc code indicated an issue with catalytic converter.

Loss of engine power, the car was towed to a nearest dealer for diagnosis and found that catalytic converter was defective.

My car has been stalling for the last 6 months it had a recall on the catalytic converter due to overheating, resulting in abnormal engine conbusion and damage to the engine pistons. i have taken it to the kia shop for an upgrade and that did not work.

Everytime i fill up my gas tank my fuel meter will go below empty and will blink that i am out of gas. after about a day or so it will go back to normal. this has happened since i bought he car. i have talked to a few other kia soul owners and they all have the same exact issue. i am wondering if this is getting looked into and investigated.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 kia soul. while driving 25 mph, the contact smelled a burning odor and the check engine warning indicator illuminated. the contact stated that the vehicle exhibited the same symptoms as listed in nhtsa action number: dp18003 (engine and engine cooling). the vehicle was taken to nemet kia (153-03 hillside ave, jamaica, ny 11432, 718-523-1145) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that they would call the contact back. the failure mileage was approximately 64,000. *dt*jb *js

Vehicle rendered inoperable due to a thrown rod. engine connecting rod failure. vehicle was in motion at approximately 55 mph and without warning popped and failed. the vehicle wouldn't run correctly afterward and required a tow.

Currently my gas milage has decreased by approx 4 miles per gallon. in the winter i get 30 mpg and used to get 34; in summer i get 32.5 mpg and used to get 37. things checked: brakes tires and alignment air filter engine codes gas quality ( used mobil premium gas) performed a carbon cleaning for gdi eng fuel system cleaning engine cleaning with oil cleaning (flush) additive. after all cleanings only slight improvement (approx 0.5 mpg). i suspect a faulty cat converter but have no way to check it.

My 2014 kia soul which i leased for 39 months in july 2014, just had a recall for a faulty gas pedal that may fracture under excessive pressure. its great that i am getting the problem fixed for free but i am very disappointed in kia and the main reason i chose kia was because they are one of the safest cars out there. i have a four year old daughter and i chose kia because of her and wanted her to be safe while we were driving. to learn that since the day i leased my car which is almost a year ago, i was driving my daughter around in a car that could have potential caused her injury or worse is very due to my gas pedal breaking is alarming to me, my daughter is the most important and precious thing to me in my whole life. i do not feel that fixing the gas pedal for free is enough and that something must be done to make up for all the times i was driving my daughter in a vehicle that i thought was very safe when it was not. i would like permission to get out of my lease so that i have the freedom to get another vehicle that is safe for my daughter. anyone with kids should know exactly how i feel and will sympathize with my situation. *tr

We were driving 75 mph. on i-75 outside dalton georgia in lots of traffic (the outer lane) at which time the vehicle lost all power and shut down. we gradually coasted to the side of the road avoiding near crashes and stopped completely. we tried restarting the vehicle and it would not start. after about 10 minutes the vehicle restarted but had no power to drive. we were towed to a dealership in dalton georgia and the service people looked at the vehicle on 8/18/2014 & said they could find nothing wrong. we proceeded on towards our destination. on 8/16/2014 (the same day they found nothing) we had traveled approximately 161 miles further south on i-75 (outside macon georgia) when the car did the same thing. it shut down driving 75 mph in major traffic. our vehicle did the same thing as it did on 8/16/2014, loss of all power. we were then towed to macon georgia kia dealership. on 8/17/2014 they informed us they were replacing a "pressure pump" and should receive it 8/18/2014. the dealership installed the pressure pump and had the technician drive it for approximately 30 miles and it shut down on him. at this point they were unsure of what to do and did multiple test on the vehicle. we were advised to leave the vehicle there and they would get it back to us. we returned to ohio in a rental vehicle on 8/22/2014. our car was transported back to ohio 9/3/2014 by the kia company with no further findings. when the dealership contacted me to let me know my vehicle was being returned and they found nothing else they stated that a 2014 kia soul on their lot did the same thing during a "test" drive. i am deathly afraid to drive this vehicle since i had my life flash before us 2 times and a 3rd time on the technician. *tr

4 times wile driving the engine started to smoke so bad the cars behind had to stop. the very first time was 6 weeks after we bought the car. took it to the kia dealer they recreated the issue and said that the problem was a flaw in the engine head. kia said i had to wait till they make a recall. 3 months after that issue it happened again, we were sitting in an intersection when a truck was going to hit us. i flored the gas and a bunch a smoke came out it boged but we got out of the way in time. kia took the vaulve cover off and it looked like tar. how can that be posible when it was not even driven the first 3,000 miles for the oil change??? we are paying for a car that has been sitting in my drive way for over a year now. to scared to drive it.
