Been getting regular oil changes on track. and on time. last 2 oil changes i been noticing oil levels dropping low after 1000 to 1500 miles driven. no leaks no burning smell. engine would be burning the oil. twice kia never noticed anything wrong. now driving down highway engine light came on. heard klacking aound and slowed down. car lost acceleration for 5 minutes. after pulling out the highway it started sputtering acting like it was going to stall out like it had low oil. again it was low. added oil. this was after 800 miles driving. still no leaks. towed it to kia garden grove california. they said i needed new engine. oil filter had metal shavings said it sould be already in engine. quoted me 12k. car is 2014 and has 115k miles. it's worth 6k. looking at everyone's else co plained you can clearly see an oil engine problem that might produce fires or engine breaking. possible lubrication issue around 75k miles and on. there should be a recall on the engine

My 2014 kia soul exclaim would not shift gears causing deceleration. i took my car to karp kia where i purchased it. it took karp kia 1 week to replace the catalytic converter. 3 weeks later i brought my car back to the dealer because oil was not staying in the car but leaking onto the engine. karp kia will not honor my warranty nor my extended warranty because i can't get all of my maintenance records despite the engine recall. i bought the car in 2017 and the car has less than 60000 miles and needs a new engine. i am legally disabled and trying to find a way to make them honor the recall/warranty that they want me to pay for because i don't have all of my oil change receipts. please help me.

Car is going through all of its oil. goes through approximately 1qt every 1,500 miles. when i first came across this problem the car was making a loud knocking sound, took it to the dealer and there was approx 1 quart of oil in the car. i only drove about 3,000 miles since the last full synthetic oil change. the dealership is telling me this isn't excessive and it is completely normal. i can only drive 1,500 miles until the oil is no longer showing on the dip stick. currently still working with the dealership to prove there is a problem with these engines. i got a oil change approx 250 miles ago and have to drive 1,000 total and they will examine the car again.

My kia soul is having identical issues to nhtsa campaign number 19v120000which led to recall sc176 by kia which only covered the 1.6l models, not the 2.0l which is the vehicle i drive. i experienced a loss of power and loud knocking type sound while driving. i was traveling approximately 30-35 m/h on a city street. i did not notice a check engine or oil light during this event. i checked my oil level and i had no oil showing on the dip stick. i filled the oil reservoir with the correct oil type and drove home less than a mile. the vehicle would not accelerate as normal. no smoke was noticed coming from the engine. i contacted kia customer service and was given a case number (13392784), and directed to bring the vehicle into the dealership for a diagnostics check. a similar incident occurred one other time where the engine again burned all of the oil, with no signs of a leak on with the engine of the ground where the car is parked. the oil has been monitored regularly since this first incident. the oil has been changed on several occasions and no oil leaks has been noticed. from my research into this issue these symptoms line up with what the affected vehicles experienced before they were recalled. the loss of power, engine noise and shifting difficulties first occurred on october 13, 2019. i asking this case be looked into and see if the scope of the recall did not cover all vehicles potentially at risk. the milage is approximately 74,000 miles.

I am writing in regards to a previous complaint i filed earlier. i was never notified by the kia company about a recent recall on 2014 kia soul hatchbacks. the recall for faulty catalytic converters which can lead to engine damage is what is stated under the advisory. when my kia soul was looked at by a local kia dealership it was found that the engine needed to be replaced. the repairs fell under the recall at no cost to me. i'm relieved it's being taken care of, but disappointed with kia's customers service. my concerns are about safety. kia needs to know that the kia soul hatchback + is affected by the recall and they need to notify their customers to prevent what happened to me.

I own a 2014 kia soul, purchased directly from the dealer with 12 miles on it. car is currently at 89,000 miles and i was informed by my dealer that the converter has a build up from everyday use and must be replaced for 2100.00. previous kia souls had a recall for this same problem prior to 2014. basically when accelerating i felt as if the car was struggling when trying to increase speed. the car would kick a little while in motion as it struggled from 20mph and up. the rpms increased between 4 and 5 at times when accelerating. i also felt when accelerating my pedal was nearly all the way down just to give the car some gas. i do a lot of highway miles and normally have to stay to the right lane until my car is able to pick up speed. this jerking would happen every time i need to accelerated. the kick back became noticable about a month ago. it started very light and has only progressed since

Vehicle has had a lack of power was told it was due to a clogged converter.... performed recall kia sc176. they replaced the converter and did an ecu upgrade. car has serious lack of power now and when trying to drive down the highway the vehicle dont know which gear to be in so it constantly hunts for a gear. gas mileage also has decreased from about 30-32 to 26-28. the car is a safety risk because sometimes it cant get out of the way of big trucks

The floor board is always warm. the car seems to drive fine for about 20 -30 mins and then the car seems to lose power and will barely go uphill...check engine light has been on for a catalytic converter in the past but went back out. car has been at kia now since june 18th... have a case with kia america. dealer told me the cat was clogged. now worried about engine damage because of clogged cat. vehicle is under recall sc176 via kia

My 2014 kia soul (86,000 miles) is consuming oil extremely fast. i had my oil changed 5/2/19 and as of yesterday 5/26/2019 my low oil light came on while i was traveling down the interstate.there is almost no oil on the dipstick. this has been an ongoing problem for the past 6+ months. it is getting increasingly worse. no oil spots have been detected under the car. i park in the same place every day. no smoke is detected. the filter installed is a kia branded filter from the service dept of the kia dealership.

Vehicle in motion, driving in a parking lot at approximately 12mph when the engine stalled. engine failed to restart after several attempts. initial diagnosis and repair from kia dealership said internal damage to fuel pump. less than one hour after picking vehicle up noted noise from engine during acceleration and check engine light came on. took the car back to the dealership and dtc code indicated an issue with catalytic converter.

I was driving along the highway when i heard a clicking noise. after the noise, my car started to lose acceleration. no matter how hard i pressed the pedal, it just wouldn't go above 5mph and began making a loud noise. had it checked out and it was determined to be the catalytic converter.

Loss of engine power, the car was towed to a nearest dealer for diagnosis and found that catalytic converter was defective.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 kia soul. while driving and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to accelerate and remained in second gear. also, the oil warning indicator illuminated. the vehicle was taken to benson kia of spartanburg (located at 1100 n pine st, spartanburg, nc 29303, (864) 585-3611) where it was diagnosed that an unknown computer code needed to be reset. the vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. the vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed to depress the accelerator pedal to manuever the gear shifter out of gear. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 20,000.

At 10000mi, this car lost pick- up, then charging outlets failed. by 30000mi, the brakes were mushy and weak, the engine makes noise, steering issues and weird smells started to occur. by 45000mi, the brake light failed, vibration/shaking, hesitation and lurching (on its own), gas millage was cut in half, rmps/idle unusually high, faulty/ failed sensors, fuel gauge failure, heating/blower failure. dealerships will not look into anything without a "code" tripping, and i was told by their mechanic that kia corporate will not allow any investigation of issues without a diagnostic code, so my warranty woun't cover the high price of finding the issues. i get in the car, start it up and the noise and rev is not normal. i drive 10 feet and the car starts shaking and making noise. when i tried to turn on the heat, loud noises started under the hood, and the engine would rev, when the car revved, the heat would kick on for 2 sec then fall out again. it now doesn't perform at all. when i accelerate after a stop light, it won't move for several seconds, then putters and goes. i have almost gotten into many accidents because of this.

I bought my 2014 kia soul with 6 miles on it nov 2013. i have had nothing but problem after problem with my headlights turning off when i use my turn signal or after using my turn signal. i have taken it to the dealership to have the same problem fixed. finally big red sports & imports took a kia soul off their car lot (after my 3rd trip there & they still didn't have the part) to put a new part in my car to fix the problem. i still had problems with my head lights so i took my kia to a different dealership. now my car won't go into reverse at times, and while i'm "trying" to put it in reverse my automatic locks start locking an un-locking really fast. i have to turn my car off, and try to start all over so it will go into reverse. i have also already had to have the battery replaced. my worry is my safety when driving at night with my head lights wanting to work when they feel like it. or if i get stranded somewhere because my car won't shift gears. *tr

Taking a day trip to the crayola factory, we were 10 miles from our destination when we first smelled smoke then saw it coming in through the vents and from the front passenger corner of the vehicle. i first checked the gauges to see if it was over heated, nothing. popped the hood and that's when we realized it was on fire. we raced to get the 2 small kids out of the vehicle as the flames were starting to over take the front hood. we were able to secure the kids and get far enough away from the vehicle but 3 minutes later the car was gutted. nothing but metal left on the inside. we had no warning that something was wrong while driving the car, no engine light, no overheating - just smelled and then saw smoke. we were lucky we had a place to pull off on a busy highway. i was told by the police officer that i'm lucky that i turned off the car and opened the doors before the locks malfunctioned as he has seen in other kia cars. my hope is that kia can find the source of the fire and do a recall before anyone else is faced with this nightmare. i reported it to kia via social media, but they seemed more concerned on how to take my pictures off rather than fix the issue. *tr updated 11/02/2017*cn

Driving soul down highway when another car came across the highway- three lanes, from a private drive in front of me to access turning lane. i hit his rear driver side with my front left drivers side. air bags did not deploy. car was totaled. *tr
