Engine failed without any warning lights and had a strong burning odor, after researching gdi engine in this model and other kia models the problems were simular except for recall on the forte model
Engine knocking and they replaced under warranty. car had 86,000 miles. drove car to work next day and it caught on fire while driving home on busy highway. kia corp knows of a problem with fuel pump and lines needing to be replaced once engine is replaced but failed to let their dealerships be aware of this issue. also why is the forte not on recall list as many kia fortes are also catching on fire due to engine/ engine repairs.
I had report the issue to kia of tupelo, ms. my card has had two recent issues. the first one being that upon acceleration, white smoke has been noted twice. the car has stalled out twice upon take off on the highway/interstate. this concern me greatly! on my most recent oil change, it was discovered that i have at least two quarts of oil shortage, with no leaks noted.
Took my kia forte 2014 in for an inspection, and instead received an ecu upgrade due to some kia campaign sc150. after the upgrade, my vehicle began to have issues. the very same day after leaving dealership, my car began to stall and blow a lot of white smoke from exhaust. i was pulled over by a stranger who informed me of that the white smoke exhausting blinded his view. kia has been disregarding this safety concern.
I was changing the oil on my car and noticed that a hose below the car broke and was leaking some type of fluid. i noticed this about 30 minutes ago, but the issue could have been going on for much longer.
This car has several issues which i have found other 2014 owners having the same issue as i do. the headlights and taillights take turns going out. i am to the point about every 5 weeks i am replacing a burned out light. one headlight will go out then i fix that. a few weeks later i will get pulled over for a taillight.being out. one officer told me he was giving me a warning because his wife has the same issues with her lights going out. i will replace the taillight then a few weeks later the other headlight will go out then the other taillight will go out. i find myself always replacing a light. i've pulled up to many forte owners to let them know a taillight was out and they all say "again" the lights are a major problem. also my driver side window won't go all the way up. i have had the problem fixed then about 6 months later the same problem happened again where the window will go almost all the way up but it still leaves a little gap in the window for air to come inside which will cause your car to rock back and fourth from the air flow in and out. its dangerous as it has even pushed me into the other lane from the air pressure coming through the opening in the window.
I have had two accidents ,the first time when i went to try and start my car up and it would not start up. kia replace my fuel pump, believing that was the issue. the second they told me they could not diagnosis a problem so it was nothing that they could do. *tr
On thursday, august 28th, 2014 at around 7:45am, my 2014 kia forte stalled in the middle of the road as i was driving. it was a most terrifying experience as i was in the middle of the road, in the turning lane under an overpass. i had to wait over an hour for kia roadside assistance and therefore the police had to call in a separate tow company so that i would not continue to illegally block traffic. i was advised that the problem was due to the fuel pump causing the 15 amp fuse to blow. *tr
This is our 2nd 2014 kia forte ex with navigation everything top of the line... well the first one had a knock in the motor so the dealership "exchanged" it and this one the seat takes about 5 min to lock into place after you adjust it and you have to be driving for it to lock in. there is a knock when you turn the wheels and the dealership says kia is working to fix it & try not to drive it as much as you can... the fuel tank keeps leaking and needing to be replaced but there working on that too i'm sure.... haha after our car being in the shop for 36 days i finally was called by kia and offered a settlement until they can fix the issues... the settlement was not easy the girl who called me was extremely rude and everything i had looked up about the laws she didn't know she had to keep either "googling" it or she went to ask her boss & then would come back oh your i guess right... kia was doing good for awhile but sadly i think they are very close to having the buy 2 get 1 free sale again... *tr
