Tl* the contact owns a 2013 kia forte koup. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 18v363000 (air bags, seat belts); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. the contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. lifetime kia (4170 e u.s. hwy 64 alt, murphy, north carolina 28906) was notified and stated that the parts were not available. the dealer stated that the contact should receive a second letter once the parts become available. the manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. the contact had not experienced a failure. parts distribution disconnect.
I was crossing through an intersection turning left right after the light had turned green. next thing i knew it i saw another car, it was a camry, flying through the light right for me. it was raining here in florida that day, and of course going to brake so abruptly i slid in addition to the speed and was not able to stop in time. i was t-boned at that intersection directly next to where the airbags would have been and they never deployed.i now suffer from 3 herniated discs on the spine pinching the nerves, and i definitely believe this airbag not going off is to blame.
