My dealership refuses to honor a recall for the fuel spillback problem and wants me to pay in excess of $300 for the part and repair. this is the problem with fueling and the pump shutoff does not engage, thus overflowing and spilling gasoline out of the fuel door. this of course happens when the car is stationary. i wasn't allowed to order the mopar part number cnnnx321ac to repair the problem myself because the vendor said it can only be purchased by the dealer because it is a "recalled" part. i need to know how i can file a claim to be reimbursed if i have to pay the dealership or how i can order the part through a vendor who would allow me to purchase the part. please respond with a solution. thank you.
When refueling at any gas station when the tank reaches a certain point the gasoline comes back out spraying over the side of vehicle and on me leaving gasoline on the ground and myself covered in gas
When i fill up tank of gas it overflows, does not shut off pump. gas overflows onto fender, bumper, tire and ground. this is a safety issue. not to mention a waste of gas and smelly hands all day after cleaning gas off of fender and bumper. have previously filed a complaint but to date no tsb or recall to address this safety issue.
When i fill the gas tank, the station pump clicks off the nozzle then gas spits back out of my tank all over the side of my jeep and onto the ground.
Vehicle was being driven approx 30mph on a city road when a loud bang was heard. immediately pulled over and luckily a stranger following behind quickly escorted the driver out as the vehicle completely went up in flames. metal chunks and pieces could be heard falling underneath the vehicle. upon closer inspection the transmission had completely exploded and ejected the clutch assembly shearing the input shaft and rupturing a fuel line. the vehicle was a complete total loss with flames immediately entering the passenger cabin in seconds. if it was not for a brave bystander serious injury or death would have occurred. this is a new transmission introduced in the new jl wrangler and gladiator and has been happening more and more. it's a serious safety issue that jeep refuses to look into and needs to be investigated immediately. transmission explosion to this degree not only can result in a fire but also metal projectiles hitting bystanders and coming through the floor boards and possibly resulting in injury or death. if you are reading this and have a manual jeep wrangler have it checked immediately! this was a completely unknown problem showing no symptoms whatsoever.*jb
Seem to have a fuel leak somewhere. smell of gasoline from the rear of the vehicle. especially strong when the heater is on. strong smell even when just walking around the vehicle outside, but no obvious leak visible.
While fueling jeep, as it gets full it will splash gasoline from the fill area onto the jeep and myself. this is an ongoing problem as it happens on a regular basis and then have to clean my jeep and myself up because the gas comes out at a good force. i then smell like gasoline for the rest of the day.
Under hard acceleration, like passing a car on the highway, the vehicle goes into limp mode which has nearly caused me to wreck 4 to 5 times due to being unable to accelerate. once i pull of the road and restart limp mode goes away but the engine light stays on. the dealership says that the wiring harness is the issue. the vehicle has codes popping up about torque management. i would like for this to be fixed free of charge due to the wiring harnesses being an integral part if this vehicle.
Stopped at stop light. car stationary. out of nowhere engine accelerates on it's own and runs into an 18 wheeler truck that is passing through in intersection. i tried to stop forward thrust by putting both feet on brake, taking out of gear which wouldn't budge, then pulling up on hand brake. after hitting back trailer wheel of truck and jeep raising back end off ground from impact acceleration stopped and engine idled.sudden unintended acceleration. manufacturer defect. accident still under investigation by insurance company. jeep towed to body shop.
