Recently reported SUSPENSION problems on 2018 Jeep Wrangler

We bought this vehicle from hoffer jeep in topeka, ks. the vehicle was won buy a person at a casino event so we are the 2nd owner. the vehicle had, i believe under 2k miles, upon our purchase. since, we have owned the vehicle it has consistently had a "death wobble". i simply cannot count how many times at or under mandated highway speeds this vehicle has entered a 'death wobble". the most recent was from returning from manhattan ks to kansas city the vehicle entered a "death wobble" no less than 4 times. the last time i was driving 5 miles under the 75mph speed limit when hitting some road chatter, nothing significant, caused uncontrollable chatter in front wheels, axle, generating strong vibration through the steering column and wheel. i released the accelerator and the vehicle came out of the "death wobble" at 27mph, on an incredibly busy highway. this was/is unsafe at highway speeds. the dangers it caused could have been catastrophic in nature and need to be addressed before someone is killed. this vehicle is stock and has not had its suspension, tires, etc., adjusted or manipulated ...

After steering damper recall was completed i'm still experiencing the "death wobble".vehicle only has 2,600 miles and has been to the dealership 3 times and get told every time that everything looks good. problem occurs when i hit a bump or a rough spot on the road and the vehicle and steering wheel begin to shake like the vehicle is jumping on the road. typically occurs when traveling over 50 mph and only corrects after you slow down to 35 mph. issue continues to happen and fca is not addressing a permanent resolution. i feel the vehicle is unsafe and can pose a life threatening situation for me and my passengers.

When traveling at highway speeds, a small bump in the road causes the steering wheel and front suspension to shake violently. the jeep dealership has replaced the steering dampner twice but there is no guarantee it will fix the issue

My jeep started to shake violently after driving over some small bumps on the highway while driving 60-65 mph. i had to pull my car over. i thought i blew a tire, but i did not. i drove off without the vehicle shaking after i waited a few minutes. unfortunately, it happened again in the same day when i drove over a rough patch on the highway traveling the same speed. i pulled over again and waited before driving off. i did some research and learned this is a know safety problem with jeeps called a "death wobble". i made an appointment to have my jeep looked at on 2-4-2020, however the service garage had to cancel my appointment due to their internet being down. i have rescheduled for 2-7-2020. if the service does not correct the problem, what am i to do? thank you, [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Driving at about 60 mph when i went over bridge separators and the whole front end started to wobble and shake until i slowed to approx. 40 mph thought the front wheels were going to come off.

When looking at the vehicle on a car hoist, unsatisfactory welds on the chassis were identified. the welds occurred at various locations and included defects such as excessive porosity, excessive weld spatter, and off location of the original weld and touch up welds. i am not a certified weld inspector, however i am a state certified welder, and federally licensed aircraft mechanic. i have been taught to identify weld defects, and understand effects they have on structural strength. for being a robotically welded frame i found the quality of some welds unacceptable, and should not have passed quality control at the factory. i am not an automotive engineer, nor am i a structural engineer, however i assume that the structural strength of the frame in this state is less of the original design strength. this issue should be dealt with before something bad happens.

After the steering damper recall my jeep started experiencing the "death wobble" after hitting bumps at about 65mph. it happed 3 times. jeep is giving me the runaround.

I'm driving on the highway about 70 and i hit a bump and my car starts shaking violently! i have cars next to me and behind me , and i move over to the slower lane and slow down to about 40 for the shaking to stop .

I was driving on the highway at 64/65 miles an hour, no weather at all, i hit a bridge strapping bump, and the jeep was almost out of control! death wobble definitely occured just a vehicle was passing me! i gripped the wheel as it shook almost uncontrollably! i slowed down to about 30 and it stopped. the jeep was vibrating out of contol!! this has happened 4 times already! it is terrifying!! fix the death wobble nobody wants to die!!!

When driving at around 60 mph or faster, hitting a bump in the road causes the vehicle to shake somewhat violently for 10-30 seconds or so. this happens multiple times per week and started about 2 months ago.

This happened twice on the same day. vehicle was in motion at approximately 60 miles per hour entering highway when a bump was hit front end started to shake and shimmy all the way through the steering wheel. almost had to completely stop the vehicle to get the shaking to stop. this is called the jeep death wobble. i had received a recall from fiat chrysler of america several months earlier to have my vehicle steering stabilizer replace. after a lot of research on this particular problem i think the vehicle manufacturer should be held liable for all front end damage done for the life of the vehicle in relation to this problem in engineering. i have seen many places where they say this problem will ruin your ball joints and your other linkages in your front end. they should inform the consumer of this problem at time of purchase.

Excessive shaking in steering wheel upon hitting slight road bumps (crack/pebble) not significant bumps occurring at speeds as low as 30mph occurs more frequently at highway speeds issue is more common if steering wheel is turned slightly to left shaking is excessive and vehicle control is lost at higher speeds. only way to resolve is to slow abruptly to less than 40 mph. vehicle has already undergone fcj recall fix of enhanced steering damper/stabilizer but issue is not resolved vehicle safety concern for this vehicle and any other vehicle near it when issue occurs issue has happened several times with as few as 3500 miles on the vehicle

Driving on highway @ approximately 65 mph, car lost most steering control and violently swayed from side to side (felt as if a tire had blown or come off); in inside lane of 3 lane road; extremely hard to control vehicle. put on flashers; other driver's able to see control issue and allowed me to shakily get across other two lanes to side of road.

While driving northbound on i-275 to tampa from sarasota with my wife and newborn son, the vehicle began shaking violently after going over a bumpy part of the road around a curve of the highway. this continued until i pulled my foot off the gas and allowed the vehicle to slow 10-15 mph.

My wife experienced started experiencing the harmonic frequency anomaly aka "death wobble" just as the weather started to get cooler in nj. i brought vehicle in to perform the tsb on 11/15. the very next day 11/16 the death wobble came back only this time much worse! she was heading to a 4h leadership training course with a car full of children, thankfully she was able to maintain control and pull off the side of the highway which in itself it not safe to do. the fix that fca has published does not work - nhtsa do your job investigate and mandate fca fix the issue not put a band aid on a broken leg.
