Car feels like it over heats driving long periods of time & brakes traction is off when i have to make sudden stops
Air conditioner quit cooling, found out new type of coolant eats the evaporator up and destroys it. my jeep is only 4 years old. this is the second time the a/c has stopped working. the dealer service department (jim click) was no help. this jeep has less than 20,000 miles on it.
Takata recall. hello my jeep is affected by the vo1 airbag inflator recall. i have researched this and the air bags in my jeep can seriously harm or kill me or someone else. i attempted to take my jeep in to have the recall performed but i am told chrysler has placed a parts freeze on all air bags for my jeep. i asked when this will be resolved and have been told several times by local dealerships and chrsyler that it will be about 4 months. they said they have no other answers. how can i not drive my vehicle for 4 months. that is absolutely not acceptable. how can there be a parts freeze for vehicles that are unsafe and potentially deadly. not being able to drive your vehicle to and from work is also a economical burden. i need this recall performed as soon as possible. what is being done about this. this could easily lead to law suits. it is not realistic to just tell people to not drive their vehicles. can the nhtsa please look into this and get back to me. thank you in advance!
My jeep stops responding and shuts off while driving for no reason. when it happens at slower speeds, i have to put it in park, turn the key to off, and then start it back up again. this happens while i am in the middle of the road. if i am traveling at a faster speed, the engine will kick back on on its own. it has been happing for about a year.

My jeep caught fire from the dash, reasons unknown. insurance is investigating and fire dept put cause as unknown. jeep is a total loss and my husband barely made it out of the vehicle before it was engulfed in flames. he was driving from school to home and about a mile from home on the highway about to exit.*dt consumer stated as he was trying to shift into neutral and pull the e-brake, he was burnt on his hand and a little on his legs by the time he jumped out. on the day of the incident, my husband drove approximately 5-6 miles to class (as he is in a technical school right now) around 6:30 am. as he was coming home, it started smoking about half way up the on ramp heading in the direction to the exit to our home, my husband said right before it started smoking it almost sound like that blower motor was making a strange noise, and he was headed home to look at it, but the noise quit right before it started smoking. he did his best to get it out of traffic, but as i stated, with it being a soft top, it went up in flames rather quick. the vehicle was serviced every 4,000-5,000 miles. my husband has a motorcycle, so the time spent in the jeep was mainly in cooler weather or when it was raining/overcast. there were not issue leading up to the fire. we had taken it on short trips - longest distance was like 100 miles round trip, but hadn't done that in awhile. the vehicle was a total loss, state farm totaled the vehicle, we have not had possession of the jeep since it was towed from the side of the road by whoever the fire dept called (allied towing). after that insurance had it towed to a location of their own. i believe my husband only had a sub woofer in the jeep, you can see it in the back in some of the pictures. i believe at some point the stereo was changed but that was before we owned it and it was in our possession for almost 1 year prior to the fire. i have no contacted the fca, i wasn't sure who to reach out to for this issue.*jb
Was driving down the highway when the passenger side had a little bit of smoke, pulled over and there was a small fire, multiple fire extinguishers failed to put out the fire and it spread engulfing the entire jeep and pop up camper until they were both total losses
Vehicle caught fire and burned to a total loss, claim with jeep was closed without resolve, requested information from the investigation and received nothing , after several calls and notes being put on the account nothing was resolved and my case was closed against my will and now they wont do anything. vehicle caught fire traveling down the highway at approximately 65 mph and upon pulling over found a fire in the front passenger fender area, attempted to extinguish fire without success and jeep burned to the ground
The horn on my wrangler has been very stiff since day one. you have to really push darn hard on it to activate the sound, so much that it is a real safety concern. a couple times i was very close to being hit and i sincerely believe that the delay in being able to beep quickly is a major concern. i read on a jeep wrangler forum that this is a known issue that many others have as well. i will be bringing this topic up at my next service but honestly this inability to do a quick beep could be the difference in saving lives. i entered today's date for 'when did this happen' but this has come up a few times over the course of owning the car. thank you for listening. *tr

Horn or steerling wheel components do not work while in motion or at still.
My odometer reads 13,997 miles but i have a trip odometer that reads 64,285.5 miles. i just bought it. i did a car fax check and they have the odometer reading as the 13,997. how can this be?
Exceleration at red light causing accident
While driving down our jeep wrangler down the highway my husband stopped at a red light and said he heard something hissing then he saw flames coming from under the hood. at that point the jeep would not steer or anything so he shut it off and my husband and son got out of the jeep. moments later the entire front end of the keep was engulfed in flames.
Horn has significant delay after button is depressed. potential safety issue as sounds heard by motorists/pedestrians will be delayed resulting in less time for them to take action to avoid the hazard.
I bought my jeep used with approx. 22,000 miles on it on january 1,2017. i had began smelling burning from under the jeep. with a oil change the man stated that it was leaking from the front and rear axil assembly. i called the dealer and explained the problem and made a appointment. i had approx. 35000 miles on the jeep. i was told after picking up my jeep by the dealership that the leaks were fixed. in about a 2 weeks i could still smell burning. i thought it may be residual from being fixed. the check engine light came on and i called to make appointment. i had checked the tire pressure and the tires for any issues. i told service that the jeep became rougher to drive and harder to steer, 2 weeks after that i was driving on the interstate, hit a bump and the steering wheel began to pound & shake uncontrollably. it felt like the front tires were shaking back and forth fast. i almost lost control of the jeep. i pulled over ( 4 lanes of traffic) to the side to assess the issue. the tires were intact with no visible issues. when i started back up the wheels were no longer doing the wobbling. i did read and found "the "death wobble" is a creative term coined by jeep owners that describes a situation when the front axle begins violently oscillating, causing the car to shake (or wobble) in a manner which makes the vehicle hard to control". i drove to the dealership and explained the issue and told the service department worker it was unsafe to drive and it needed fixed. i do have extended warranty. i was told that they could not fix it and it would take 2 to 3 weeks before i could get a appointment. i was very upset knowing it was not safe but had no choice to make the earliest appointment 2 weeks out. i was told i could get a rental car, i stated i was not paying for a rental when my jeep is unsafe to drive and they will not fix it sooner. mileage was 37,753
Radiator is leaking coolant. i have added 2 gallons over the last year. i should not be leaking coolant.
My 2015 jeep wrangler sahara unlimited has developed the "death wobble" and i don't know how to fix it. it will begin to violently shake after hitting any small bump on the roadway at speeds ranging from 50 mph to 70 mph*. shaking is so bad that i have to come to a complete stop as fast as possible because its very difficult to control while it shakes. * i only said at speeds up to 70 mph because that's the fastest speed limit where i live. i have no doubt that it will do it more violently at higher speeds.
-navigation system stopped working with error messages: "no map data available"; "detailed maps are required for routing. no detailed maps were found on this unit". -all other electronic systems including radio work well.
This vehicle, while sitting in a driveway, engine off for at least 1/2 hour, had a fire start in the engine compartment and cause the vehicle to be a total burn. chrysler investigator ruled that it was not a "manufacturing defect." i have many pictures of the fire event and after fire remains. i have been in the retail automotive business for 30+ years. i also was a public speaker for chrysler corp as well. had my son not stopped at a friends house for dinner, that fire would have occurred in my garage!! it is criminal with so many similar complaints found online, that they would continue to take this position.
Right out of the factory i had a transmission problem i took it in the fourth gear synchronizer was bad and the shaft had it replaced now with 15000 miles in it the engine is knocking and the trans is screeching when i let the clutch out back to the dealership again on tuesday its very unfortunate paying 40 grand for a vehicle that's broken right out of the dealer

There is a distinct delay between pressing the horn button (steering wheel) and activation/sounding of the horn. this delay can be over 1 second. this has been brought to the dealership's attention. they claim that it is working properly, when clearly it is not. many times, i have tried to "beep" the horn to either avoid an incident, or otherwise, and it has never reacted as necessary.
Engine problems: starting summer 2015 engine shuts off while driving, accelerating, slowing down, stopped engine will not go back into gear engine loses power when accelerating or cruising brought into dealership (purchase location) approximately august 19th 2015 released september 2nd 2015 problems persisted brought into different dealership approximately september 14th 2015 released approximately september 26th problems persisted brought into dealership september 30th 2015 still in custody as of october 8th on september 29th, i was taking an on ramp for an interstate. the ramp is an uphill, hair pin turn that then turns into an off-ramp for oncoming traffic. i have never experienced an issue accelerating and merging into the interstate traffic here. however, this afternoon i was not able to get the acceleration that i expected. when i ran out of ramp room, i would have needed to slow down significantly in order to allow the side by side tractor trailers to go by. however, because of other cars that were behind me on the on-ramp, that was not an option without possibly causing an accident. so i merged with as much power as i could get, which was not enough. the closest tractor trailing came barreling down upon me quickly with horn blaring. on september 30th, just a couple miles away from the dealership, i was the first in line at a red light. the jeep shut off. i could not get it back into gear. it just remained in neutral no matter which gear i tried to put it in. i shifted in and out of park and other gears turned the vehicle off and back on many times. a few times drive would engage but then the engine would shut off again after a few feet. i finally got it into gear and accelerated quickly hoping to cover a greater distance and it worked. i was able to finish my trip to the dealership.
About 30 minutes after midnight on a thursday morning i was awoke by the sound of my dog barking and my sister walking into my room telling me there was a large glow in the driveway. after walking outside, we found my brand new 2015 wrangler on fire with very large flames erupting from the hood. we quickly woke the rest of my family and rushed frantically to put it out. an hour later, after nearby neighbors arrived to help, and emergency services arrived to put out the fire (local fire department and police) the vehicle fire was doused and the jeep was hauled off my property to a local towing yard. the fire seemed to have started around the battery area, but the source has yet to be determined. the fire claimed the entire engine compartment, most of the drivers dash board and drivers interior, and the entire front left tire/trim.
Our jeep goes into a violent shake which makes it very difficult to control just to pull off the road and stop the vehicle. we found out this is called the jeep death wobble. it started very soon after we purchased the vehicle and it still does it.
I was driving my jeep on my property and had stopped for a moment. next thing i know it was on fire and it spread so quickly i had no choice but leave the vehicle and call the fire department. i was lucky to be able to get out.
The regulation requiring headrests to tilt forward is ridiculous and causes me significant neck discomfort. i have to lean the driver's seat back farther than i want so that the headrest doesn't push my head forward. stupid beauricratic regulation.
