I received a recall notification from chrysler several months ago regarding the transmission oil cooler tube. recall n28/nhtsa 13v-234. i have called river oaks jeep and chrysler every month since receipt and they said they do not have the parts to make the repair. they said that chrysler has not sent them the tube and they have such a long running list that they quit taking names. my 17 year old drives this car and if it is in any way unsafe this is a huge problem! if this will cause a transmission problem after the warranty is out, this will be another issue. please advise. *js

First thing that happened with this vehicle while driving on a highway the air condition and defogger for the winshield went out, winshield fogged up could not see on a rainy foggy night when i had to open all windows for air to take mist off winshield.second incident when i pulled into a service area to check the a/c the vehicle above was locked in park when suddenly the vehicle started going in reverse with engine running almost running over my brother who was in rear of vehicle.

My jeep began to have a clicking noise every time you pressed and depressed the clutch, i took it to the dealership to get it repaired. they reportedly installed a whole new clutch kit, throw out bearing, and the pressure plate. in about 2 weeks later the clutch began to make the same noise and now i'm awaiting to see what chrysler will do for me. *tt

Months ago we received a notice that there was a safety recall on the transmission in our 2012 jeep wrangler. my husband took it to our local jeep dealership, [xxx] and they confirm the line had to be replaced. they said the part was on back order and it would be a month or so. they are receiving approximately one part a week and instead of repairing customers' vehicles, they are putting them on the jeep wranglers that are on their lot for sale. they do not care that they are putting their customers in danger. i contacted chrysler directly and they said that there was nothing they could do to help me. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Safety recall n28/nhtsa 13v-234 - chrysler corporation is not supplying the parts to dealers to complete the repairs necessary to prevent fires & crashes (per the recall notice). this is unacceptable. the waiting list for parts is very long and chrysler reported to me today that each dealer gets 1 repair kit every 14 days. if someone does the math, these means that it will take over 30 months to supply the parts for the necessary repairs, given the number of recalled wranglers (1800,000) and the number of dealers in the us. this is unacceptable and the nhtsa has a responsibility to the traveling public to ensure that recalls such as n28 are completely in a timely manner. *tr

I have been waiting for this part (transmission oil cooler tube) since last july. i called immediately to have it addressed by my dealer and they put me on a waiting list. almost a year later (and several phone calls during this year to them) i am still on that waiting list. my recall states: "...operating the vehicle with insufficient transmission fluid may cause damage to the transmission and a loss of transmission function which may increase the risk of a crash." i am supposed to be okay with this? i tried to trade it in for a newer model, but the dealer did not give me a decent deal. my jeep is only a year old. *js

I received first recall notice (notification code n28) in june 2013. contacted dealer and was put on "wait list" for part. i have received 2 more recall notices. calls to dealer result in being told that chrysler is not supplying enough parts for the repair and my wait will be another 6 months minimum ( as of may 2014 ). calls to another dealer confirms that they received 2-3 parts per month for repair resulting in wait list of months. *tr

This is a recall that has not been fixed i have called dealerships since 2013 and no one has call me back. this recall is for the transmission oil cooler tub may come in contact with power steering fluid return tube. prolonged contact with the tubes could cause a leak in the transmission oiler cooler tube. operating the vehicle with insufficient transmission fluid may cause damage to the transmission and a loss of transmission function which increases the risk of a crash. *tr

This is a safety recall complaint n28/nhtsa 13v-234 transmission oil cooler tube. first notice received in 6/2013, parts to fix not available at the time. second notice received 1/2014 indicating parts available and to contact dealership "right away to schedule service appointment." contact was made with dealership and they indicated there is a 4 month waiting list because they are only provided one set of parts per week needed for this recall, which means, only 4 jeeps a month are receiving the repairs for a 2 hour fix. this is absolutely ridiculous. dealerships should be provided these parts as soon as a customer contacts them on this safety recall. i have been put on the "list" and will be called when i move to the top. a 4 month waiting list means only 16 jeeps will have this safety recall taken care of before i am scheduled. solution: dealerships need to have these parts available to them as customers call to schedule an appointment. they should not be rationed nor should a complaint be filed against the dealer. the complaint is with chrysler group for not being able to supply parts for a safety recall that could potentially present a life threatening situation if the defect is not taken care of. *tr

The shifter includes a feature called autostick that allows you to manually shift the gears. the autostick is too sensitive, and if bumped will down shift to first gear causing a sudden reduction in speed. i was driving down the road at roughly 50 mph when a person in the passenger seat gently nudged the gear selector to the left, which shifted the car into 1st gear. to recover the car has to be put into neutral than put back into drive. *tr

Jeep wrangler 2012 reverse gear will not stay in place on manual 6-speed. after placing gear in reverse and initiating movement in reverse gear, the gear pops out of place. poses safety issue: not able to go into reverse when expected; car stops suddenly while trying to go into reverse; driver must keep hand on reverse gear rather than being able to turn and look behind shoulder. brought matter to attention of manufacturer dealer representative in february 2013 and they have stated that replacement part is on back order. manufacturer and dealer have not taken any action for 2+ months. *tr

Vehicle is currently (dec 2012) at dealer having heads/valves replaced (10th day after waiting 10 days for parts), original report 9 nov: idling engine continues to be very rough, much rougher than when reported to dealer on november 9 2012, dealer did pcm reflash/update as stalling maneuver, after which problem worsened and mil came on vehicle is vibrating abnormally when stopped and idling, all passengers feel the car shaking, almost stalls at times idling engine changes speeds and sound intermittently and is running very loud engine always had slight ticking on left side since new but was never loud or rough loss of power felt at acceleration at top of gears (manual) white exhaust emissions after cold start, this never happened before engine light mil is on and off repeatedly - reads p0306 cylinder 6 misfire gas mileage severely affected (approx 25% worse), car now has 18k miles; dealer said it was ok to drive it - however driving it may cause other damage this is 3rd visit to dealer - when problem first reported dealer service dept said i might have put water in the gas. i have had to push the dealer to fix this and the general attitude has been adversarial and not helpful. *tr

I have had at least 100 times where my jeep has stalled and just stopped running. it has happened when i have slowed down, and has stopped in intersections. it has stopped when starting from a stop etc. i have had numerous manual transmission cars and this has never happened. it scares me , and makes me fear for my life. i have changed the way i drive because of it, with the fear of worrying my jeep will just stop running , when i pull out into traffic. i have had the switches in the car not work, and function erratically. lights stay on, when turned off, after turning them off numerous times, they finally go out. i have had my breaks respond oddly, and get weak. i have had the heater not come on, then turn switch again and it works. have had defrost some on when defrost was off. numerous electrical functions, malfunction. i don't bother with jeep, as my mileage is over 36,000- no more warranty, but these things began, about a month or two into jeep ownership. these problems used to be infrequent, but now this power failure happens often. some days it happens 4-5 times. please help me with this matter, i do not want to be injured or killed, due to this problem. i also do not want my family or someone else's hurt ,because of it either. i started doing research about these issues and find i am not the only one, it is common. i also have a whistle in the brake line, vacuum i think??? it causes the breaks to not be strong at times. i have had my brakes completely replaced and this condition persists, it also seems many with my model of jeep experience this as well. all of the hinges on the doors are rusting from the inside out, as well, i see the paint bubbling up . *tr
