I took in my jeep to motor village la (2025 s figueroa st, los angeles, ca 90007). i brought it in for a recall of the transmission oil cooler tube (n28/nhtsa 13v-234). upon calling to determine if the work had been completed, i was told that they only inspected to see what parts would need to be replaced. they further explained that the parts requiring replacement would take a while to be received. when i pushed for more information, they told me that they are only allowed to order 1 part of this type every 14 days from the manufacturer. they said that i would be added to the waiting list for this part. when i asked how many people were on the list, he merely said that there were a lot. so i asked if it would be weeks, months, or what that means? he said he didn't have any further information for me. i believe that this situation fails to meet the requirement of replacement within a reasonable period of time. i could even live with a month or two, but an indeterminate amount of time is ridiculous. *tr

I received a recall notice on my jeep for a transmission oil cooler tube which can cause loss of transmission fluid and if it comes in contact with an ignition source, cause an underbody fire. i have been to the dealership 2 times now in an attempt to get the fixed. both times i was told it was a first come first service basis and they had no idea when they could get to this. my option was to leave my vehicle and wait until "i can get to it". this is not an option and is unreasonable for them to assume one can go without a vehicle until they "can get to it". this is a safety issue and apparently chrysler is unable to service their product within a reasonable timeframe. my first attempt was over a month ago. this is not acceptable. i went to the chrysler dealership on veterans blvd in metarie, la. *tr

Received 1st safety recall notice, n28/nhtsa 13v-234, from chrysler group 09/10/2013. i immediately called the local dealership (bay dodge, panama city beach, fl) and was told to call back at a later date because the parts to repair the issue were not in stock and they were waiting for the inventory. 2nd safety recall notice received 12/07/2013. i called the same dealership on 12/09/2013 and was told i would be added to the "wait" list...that i was number 45 and could expect to wait a couple years for the parts to arrive at the dealership. the issue is that the dealership can only order one repair kit every 14 weeks from chrysler!! what?? so, if the transmission oil cooler tube begins to leak it may cause "damage to the transmission and a loss of transmission function which may increase the risk of a crash"...and it is ok to make me wait years for the repair??? *tr

After receiving safety recall n28 / nhtsa 13v-234 from chrysler, i contacted my local dealership (from whom i purchased the vehicle) requesting to get the transmission oil cooler tube serviced. they informed me that the part needed to be ordered (1) at a time with at least (7) days between orders. as a result, they said my vehicle cannot be serviced for 20+ weeks, putting myself and my family in jeopardy during this time. while i understand it is not the dealerships fault, this systems failure must be addressed immediately. *tr
Appears that during winter months/cold weather the manual transmission will jump out of gear. it happens during sudden jars to vehicle, examples would be railroad tracks and pot holes. also it will jump out of gear during heavy acceleration.
Received safety recall n28 / nhtsa 13v-234 and scheduled appointment for repairs (as requested on notification) at flagship chrysler dealership, bayamon, pr on 14nov2013. the mechanic confirmed the need for replacement of power steering return tube and the transmission oil cooler tube but the parts were not available. according to service rep the parts were ordered. on 04dec2013 called the dealership for status of order to be told that parts could arrive after 1 month but according to service rep the parts department could not tell when will they be available and i should wait until receiving communication by email. i contacted chrysler corporation (pr office) on 05dec2013 through 1-800-853-1403 and service rep did not have information available related to the recall, took my vehicle's vin # and agreed to call back. as of 14dec2013 neither the dealership or chrysler corporation has contacted me with expected date for parts' availability. since the service date above i received the second notification to take my car for repairs. *tr

I received a recall notice in the mail about my transmission oil cooler tube for my 2012 jeep wrangler (recall number n28). i contacted my local jeep dealer, [xxx] in belleville illinois. the service department stated that they could not do this for 10 weeks or more due to chrysler not releasing parts. i also have another dealer in the area and i contacted them. they took my information and put me on a waiting list at least for the parts but still stated it would be several weeks before parts could come in. this is totally unacceptable! i have a newborn child that travels in this vehicle and obviously there is a problem if there is a recall and the company cannot even fix their product! something needs to be done about this! information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr
hi, i'd like you to be aware of the following issue. in december 2012 chrysler sent me a letter citing chrysler safety recall n28 / nhtsa 13v-234 that is concerned with replacement of transmission oil cooler tube. since 18 december 2013, i've been calling my local chrysler dealer (glenn e. thomas dodge chrysler jeep in signal hill, ca) and every one of three times i am being told that the dealer has not received any replacement parts from chrysler to accommodate this recall. this is not the matter of shortage but absolute lack of follow-through on behalf of chrysler. if chrysler makes the owners aware that there's a potential safety issue and yet does not supply (nor provide an eta for parts) the major dealership for nearly 3 months, then it makes me quite concerned. what else has the chrysler not followed through on, my brakes, airbag, steering? thanks for your consideration of this issue. *tr

After receiving a recall notice (safety recall n28/nhtsa 13v-234 transmission oil cooler tube) in the mail, i called my local dealership (clear lake dodge/chrysler/jeep, houston, tx) to schedule a service appointment to remedy the possible problem explained in the recall notice. unfortunately, i was told that this dealership is only receiving approx. 1 - 2 of the parts needed for this problem per week and they have a list of customers for those parts already long enough that will take approx. a year to fill. i was told that i should continue to call the dealership approx. once a week and see if they, by any chance, received enough of the parts to fix my vehicle. i find this unacceptable! i do not want to wait a year to get my vehicle fixed and feel that i (nor anyone else) should not have to wait that long to get a possible defect in my vehicle taken care of. are there any other options for me? what can i do to get my vehicle taken care of immediately? i do not want to wait to get this problem taken care of and risk the possibility of the problem materializing and causing an accident that could result in my vehicle being destroyed or, even worse, injuring myself or others! i appreciate any help or advice you could give me in this matter! thank you. *tr

The jeep auto to manual shifting is way too sensitive and will down shift without driver input to lower gears causing very dangerous sudden reduction in speed. driving down the road at roughly 65 mph and the jeep auto trans went into 1st gear by itself and almost stopped the vehicle on the freeway!!! to recover the car had to be put into neutral than put back into drive. *tr

As i went to my appointment for a motor vehicle safety recall on my 2013 jeep, i was told my dealer that they could only get 1 recall part a week and it would be at least 7 weeks before they would call me to make an appointment for my recall. i feel that if a vehicle is being recalled for a safety issue that more than 1 transmission oil cooler tube a week should be available to the dealers. in the meantime, i am apprehensive about driving my jeep wondering if this issue will arise and how it will affect me and my vehicle. *tr

In november of 2013, i received a recall notice to have the transmission oil cooler tube replaced. i immediately made an appointment with antioch chrysler. they took me in, kept the car for several hours then said they didn't have the parts needed and would call me when they came in. after not hearing back from them for several months, i called them in may of 2014. they said they still have no parts, and will call me when they come in. it is now july 2014 (8 months later).... any suggestions? *tr
I got a recall letter, ( safety recall n28/nhtsa 13v-234 transmission oil cooler tube ) which says could cause risk of crash. the dealer says they can only order one part every 7 days and i won't be able to get it fixed for 4 months. is this true and is it safe to drive? *tr
I responded to a safety recall ( n29/nhtsa/ 13v-234 for a defective transmission oil cooler tube) received in sept. 2013. i called the dealer and was told the part was not in stock, but would be ordered for me. several weeks later i called again, still no part. the parts man informed me that the part was "being rationed" due to parts shortage - and that i would be contacted in the future. i asked if i was "in line" by my date of call, he said that i was. still no contact. i do have a mysterious leak showing up on the garage floor - could it be this problem? my jeep is a 2012 and has shown no leaks before. *tr
I received a letter that there was a recall on the transmission oil cooler tube (safety recall n28/ nhtsa 13v-234). i took my vehicle in oct 30, 2013 and was told the parts were ordered and i would be notified when parts arrive. 2 months later i was still not notified of the parts arriving. i called the dealership and was told there was a 2 year waiting period for the part. i was told it was supposedly on order already and to see if it had come in. they said it was never ordered and would call me right back. it has been nearly 3 weeks and i have received no call back. on my recall letter it stated that if a dealer fails or is unable to remedy this defect in a reasonable time, that i may file a written complaint. that is what i am here to do. *tr
