Tl*the contact owns a 2002 jeep wrangler. the contact was driving approximately 10 mph approaching a stop sign when he applied the brakes but the vehicle did not slow down. the brake warning indicator illuminated after the failure occurred. the vehicle was driven upon the curb to stop it and then towed to an authorized dealer where the entire rear brake system was replaced. there was a recall under nhtsa campaign id number 06e022000 (service brakes, hydraulic) but the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included. the failure mileage was 144,000.
